The AudioVerse Intelligent Bible Project
8m read
A few days ago, the General Conference released a video entitled, “What Might Have Been…Can Be!” In the film, we are reminded of the vision Ellen White had of the 1901 General Conference session in which she saw the brethren humbly confess and repent of their wrongs to one another—and we likewise are reminded that those events never occurred as she had hoped.
Ellen White later wrote that “had they, in humility of soul, led out in the work of confession and consecration, giving evidence that they received the counsels and warnings sent by the Lord to correct their mistakes, there would have been one of the greatest revivals that there has been since the day of Pentecost” but “The leaders closed and bolted the door against the Spirit's entrance. There was a stopping short of entire surrender to God.” [The Kress Collection, page 95]
What a tragedy! I’ve been reflecting upon this sad episode from our history, and have been deeply convicted that we ought not allow this history to repeat again! As Jim Ayer, Writer/Executive Producer of this film and AudioVerse board member states, “The final scenes have not been completed, because you and I have a part in those scenes. God wants to lead us, on our knees, into the Canaan Land. How will it end? Just as with Israel, God has left that for you and for me to decide because, What Might Have Been—Can Be.”
The stated mission of AudioVerse is “to hasten the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ by making high quality Bible-based and Christ-centered media available to the WHOLE world.” In other words, we exist to help finish this story! Here are a few recent series of messages that speak to the heart of the issue—our hearts and our surrender to Jesus. May you be blessed as you listen and share these precious messages with your friends:
This film was born out of the GC’s Revival and Reformation initiative, and they invite each one of us to participate in the 100 Days of Prayer for the upcoming General Conference session. You can sign up at: www.100daysofprayer.org.
Forward to a Finished Work!
