AMEN 2024 Conference: By His Spirit
1m read
Dear AudioVerse Friend,
Over the past year and a half or so, as COVID interrupted our lives, shuttered churches, and brought the world to a grinding halt, we recognized that the work of AudioVerse was more important than ever. We saw the highest amount of traffic ever in our history throughout the initial lockdowns, and in countries and regions that have remained locked down, that traffic has continued to rise.
Even though many events were cancelled, and our usual plans were upended, rather than sit back and relax, we refocused our time and energy into updating the infrastructure of our ministry to reach more souls more effectively. We have not been standing still!
As I mentioned last month, we completed the major software development project of rewriting our API and administrative content management system. That new system is now powering our platform and will only get better over time. But that’s only one phase of the major updates that we have been working on.
In this newsletter I want to share with you what else is on the way, and how it will impact you and all AudioVerse users.
At the ASI International Convention earlier this month in Orlando, Florida, we unveiled our refreshed brand identity at our exhibit. We’ve spent the past few months thinking deeply about the best way to show the growth and maturity of this ministry, while respecting and reinforcing the core values that have always driven us.
To accomplish this, besides the updated icon and font in our logo, we’ve also adopted a new tagline: “Sound Doctrine.” We believe these two words concentrate so much of what AudioVerse is about into a very concise allusion to Scripture. We hope you like it as much as a we do!
For those of you who couldn’t be there, here’s a photo of our brand-new exhibit featured at ASI!
You will notice that our booth backdrop prominently features the interface of our upcoming mobile app, which is the next major phase of our software updates. Our internal development team and design firm (Types & Symbols) have been poring over every detail of our app experience to improve the listening experience for all of our users.
One major improvement you can expect to see is the vastly improved ability to discover content within our library (over 20,000 messages and counting!), and a more intuitive presentation of the content which will enhance the navigation throughout the app.
Moreover, the new app will offer a personal library which allows logged-in users to keep track of listening progress, to save and queue up your playlist, and to better manage your listening history. These features will sync across platforms so your personalized AudioVerse listening experience can follow you whether on your computer, tablet, or phone.
The new web and mobile apps will also cohesively reflect the new AudioVerse brand identity so everything will look and feel familiar, wherever you happen to find us.
You really have to see it for yourself, so we can’t wait for you to experience the new apps soon! Our goal is to roll them out by the end of 2021, but in the meantime, here are a few teasers to whet your appetite.
So between now and the end of the year, we will be in a transition time. During this time we will be moving various aspects of the ministry over to the new brand (such as our marketing materials, social media sites, etc.), and the full transition will be complete when our new and improved website and mobile apps launch. So pardon any inconsistencies that you may see over the next few months, that is part of the transition process and we want to make you aware of that as we go through it together.
I mentioned at the start of this letter that we had record traffic in 2020, but we also had record support from you, our donors, as well. None of these developments would have been possible without your generous support. THANK YOU for your indispensable partnership in helping get the word out to the whole world!
AudioVerse remains one of the best ministry bangs for your bucks in that we make a big impact with small resources. And we believe the improved web and mobile app experience will only enhance that capability.
To get to Version 2.0 of our new apps, we estimate that we still need around $50,000. Even after the initial release of these new apps, there are other important new features that we want to immediately begin work on, so any surplus will only help us achieve those goals faster. (One such big feature request from our users is an improved search engine, and we can’t agree more!) So please prayerfully consider supporting this important work with a generous one-time donation or monthly contribution.
You may give at our donate page online, through PayPal Giving Fund to avoid any credit card transaction fees (for US donors only), or by check to our address below.
Also, to celebrate this milestone in AudioVerse’s history, we will send all US-based donors who give $25 or more between now and September 30 a small memento that highlights the refreshed look of the ministry.
Thank you in advance for your support and we can’t wait to show you more in the coming months!
In Christ,
Alistair Huong, Executive Director
