Escape From the Black Hole

Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for your love for us.

We ask, Lord, today that you would just teach us, instruct us, Lord, and open our eyes, Lord, that we may see.

I ask, Lord, that you would use me, that you would speak through me and that you would just anoint the words that they will reach the hearts of your people.

I would like to start by sharing a little bit of my testimony.

And let me see, how many of you know a little bit about my testimony?

Okay, how many of you just learned a little bit about my testimony like this week?

How many of you know a little bit about my testimony from a long time ago?

As I shared earlier this week, I was part of a four-man hip hop group.

And we were in the middle of recording our first album when I was introduced to the Seventh Day Adventist message.

We had about 20 of my friends, somewhere between 20 to 30 people, had left school, left Virginia State University to come up to New York City where we were going to be recording.

We were all going to live the lifestyle that we saw on TV.

The parties, smoking, drinking, and just living what we thought was the life.

In this environment, we met an Adventist.

We were all around 20, in our early 20s, some still teenagers.

And this gentleman that we met began to share with us things from the word of God.

And I mean, his knowledge of the Bible was so incredible.

We had never heard of a Seventh-day Adventist before.

Am I supposed to have a microphone up here?

Do I, Am I supposed to have a microphone up here?

Do I, am I supposed to have a microphone up here or no?

If you can get me a microphone, that would be great.

If not, I'll just try to talk as loud as I can.

I'm going to get louder than this, so don't worry.

And so we were introduced to the Adventist message.

And you know, funniest thing in the world, we're all smoking and drinking.

Now this guy who is kind of doing some of these things with us begins to open the word of God with us.

So we would be literally just like up at 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning.

And before, we were just like partying, hanging out.

Now, if you had walked into that house, you would have seen people sprawled out all over the floor with Bibles open, just studying, studying the Adventist message.

And we were actually still smoking and drinking while we were doing it.

But God, through that event, through that, the Holy Spirit penetrated and brought about a powerful transformation in our lives.

Well, we got so excited that what we decided to do was to share the 3 angels' messages in our hip hop music.

And we're already saying, we're not going to be like regular Adventists.

So, you know, dreadlocks and you know, pants and you know, We're here to tell you about Jesus.

And we'd be in the clubs actually doing this.

Friday night in the clubs, and we're rhyming about Jesus.

We're rhyming about the 3 angels' messages.

We're rhyming about the mark of the beast.

And then we're doing things like, who wants to know who the Antichrist is?

And then we start throwing out great controversies.

So I mean, we were just trying to find every way possible to get this message out, because it really gripped us.

And we were really honest, really sincere.

Because we would just be, you know, I mean, we would do our songs.

And we'd tell the people, like, what are you doing here?

And you know, The Lord began to speak to us because we would see people dancing to this life and death message that we thought we were preaching.

Why are you throwing up your 40 bottles and going, Lord, throw it up for Jesus, alright!

With blunts in their hands and all kinds of stuff.

And I'm going, Lord, something's going on here.

We would go on programs like Teen Summit.

I don't know if any of you remember that program from way back, you know, early 90's.

And what's the name of our… Soul Train.

You'll understand why I call it Soul Train in a moment.

But we would go on these programs and I mean, we were known as the hip hop group that was not afraid to talk about the Bible.

So we'd be on BET with Bibles in our hands while we were performing.

And then they'd interview us, and we would all talk about, you know, it's about God, it's about God.

And the name of our group was Boogie Monsters.

So if you go online and Google, don't do that.

The Beast From the Abyss

Heavenly Father, we thank You, again, for Your Word, for Your truth.

We ask, Lord, that You would please make this message, this last message, Lord, help our eyes to be opened and help us to see what you need us to see in these last days.

Okay, I'd like for you to open your Bibles to Revelation Chapter 13.

And while we're turning there, let me just mention this.

The only form of entertainment that I'm against is ungodly entertainment.

Anything that leads us away from God, that moves us away from God, which unfortunately is a whole lot.

We can go into that a little bit later, but I just want to let you know, not all TV is bad.

Anything that points our minds in the direction of God, of his creation, of things that are good, holy, righteous, those things are good.

But most of, probably all of what Hollywood is doing is designed for 1 purpose, to make them money, and the devil is using that purpose to steal your souls.

So I really didn't have time to finish my last message because of the time constraint.

But I want to move on into this study because this is really going to open our eyes to some very very important things by the way as we're going through this study you may be a little bit you know you may be confused I hope you won't be but you may wonder okay where is this going this is an entertainment workshop.

If somebody just says, stop, Pastor, wait, I'm behind.

I'm going to be checking frequently to see if you're following me.

Revelation Chapter 13, Revelation Chapter 13, Verse 1, John here says, and I sit upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea having 7 heads and 10 horns and upon his horns 10 crowns and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

So John sees a beast rising up out of the where?

Now we understand this beast to represent the power of the dark ages that Roman Church during the Dark Ages that ruled for how long?

Okay, so this beast is seen coming up from the where everyone from the sea.

Okay, notice with me Revelation Chapter 13.

In fact, let's look at this for a minute.

It persecuted the people of God and we're told that this beast would eventually receive a what?

Now, when did the beast receive that deadly wound?

So, this beast that the devil has been using to persecute the people of God receives a wound in 1798 the devil is saying I've got to get a new what a new power on the scene to do what?

And to the woman were given 2 wings of a great eagle That she might fly into the wilderness into her place where she is nourished for a time Times and half a time from the face of the serpent.

So the woman went into hiding, while she was in hiding, the dragon was persecuting, or the beast from the sea was persecuting, she was in hiding, and at the end of the 1260 years, notice verse 15, the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman that he might cause her to be carried away in the flood.

The earth helped the woman and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

And the dragon was angry with the woman and went to make war with who?

Remember the beast from the sea has been persecuting who?

At the end of the 1260 years, the dragon sees he's angry that the woman escapes, so he now turns his attention on who?

But He cannot yet attack the remnant of her seed with the beast from the sea, because the beast from the sea has received a deadly wound.

So we know then that in the last days, the devil is going to be after the remnant.

When you think of offspring, what do you think of?

In the last days the devil understands that if he can cut off the offspring If you can cut off the children cut off the young people He has cut off the prosperity of the church So when you hear that young people will finish the work the devil knows that So he now must must craft an assault that will be directed not only against the remnant church, but in particular against the offspring The young people so let's see what happens.

Just at the time that John Sees this first beast receiving a deadly wound look at verse 10 he that leaves into captivity shall what?

Go into captivity he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword Speaking about that beast that was dominating for 1260 years it persecuted with the sword it received a deadly wound by the sword.

What happened in that in that year in that year the Pope was taken what Captive and the Vatican States lost their authority as a nation or as a state power Okay, received a deadly wound Now notice what happens just around that time.

Verse 11, I beheld another beast coming up out of the where?

Earth, and he had 2 horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon.

Who is this beast that comes up out of the earth?

This beast is described as a what as a lamb Number 2, when would this power when would this nation our power be coming into power?

Just around the time when the first beast received its deadly what?

So who can tell me when did America which by the way, the lamb represents who?

So we're looking at a what kind of a nation coming up on the scene a Christian nation coming up on the scene, right?

We look at the Declaration of Independence.

We look at, you know, many of our founding documents.

Our first president was in 1789, I believe it was.

We were rising into power just around the end of the 1700s how many follow that so far okay didn't see too many hands nice and high come on you know how there you go okay so we've got this beast that comes up where from the earth So we've got the beast from the sea, we've got the beast from the earth.

And at Seventh-day Adventist we have been keeping our eyes on both of these beasts.

Because we know that 1 day the Bible says that these 2 powers will combine together to war against the remnant of God.

The Beast from the Abyss

Heavenly Father, we again thank You for speaking to us, Lord, and we just ask that You would just help us, Lord, to get the full picture of where we are and what we need to be fighting against and how we need to be standing in You.

Some of you have asked, I want to let you know that This presentation is entitled The Beast from the Abyss.

We're going to have our booth set up this evening.

After the meetings, we have a whole lot of product.

But this presentation in particular, The Beast from the Abyss, is a 3 DVD set.

So it's actually 3 hours worth of information.

And I'm kind of condensing it as best I can in the time that we have.

In 1492, December 5, In 1492, December 5, Columbus discovers Hispaniola.

In 1697, by the Treaty of Rieswig, a portion of Hispaniola is formally ceded to France.

The remaining Spanish section is called Santo Domingo.

In the 16 and 1700s, Saint Domingo becomes a capital of slave trade.

Slaves from all over are brought to this place, which is a Catholic occupation.

And as soon as they arrive there, the first thing that happens is that They are christened as Catholics.

But they are not allowed to read the 2 witnesses.

You'll remember that Egypt was not only known for its denial of God, but it was also known for its multiplicity of gods.

You remember God for the river, God for the flies, God for the frogs, etc.

What happened with these slaves is that they needed something to connect because they had come from so many different places so many varied backgrounds and so what happens is that they were trying to you know keep these slaves separate and the 1 thing that these slaves united upon was their religion they brought their gods together and formed a new religion called Voodan or Voodoo The head figure of the Voodoo faith, the key deity of the Voodoo faith is the serpent.

And 1 of the, in fact the word voodoo has been translated as the snake under whose auspices gather all who share the faith.

And This religion, this new thing called voodoo, if you were to take a look at their ceremony, perhaps the most sacred part of the voodoo worship dealt with music.

In the voodoo practitioner's mind, they wanted to achieve Syncopation.

What is syncopation to a voodoo practitioner?

They wanted to be possessed by the spirits.

And in particular the spirit of the serpent and so the key instrument in voodoo worship was the drum And what would happen is during these services, the voodoo practitioners knew that they had been Invested or taken over by the spirit because their bodies would move to the music like a serpent Anybody following me?

Okay, just checking What began to happen is that the the slave owners looked at this practice and they said what are you guys doing?

And they banned it Because they were terrified of this satanic ritual.

I'm not going to give you the name of the book, because the name of the book will give away where I'm coming to.

It says, yet Whenever possible, they, the voodoo practitioners, would use the Catholic rituals to carry out their own beliefs.

Therefore, when dancing and singing was abolished, because of fear from voodoo practices, The enslaved voodoo believers would dance and sing to the Catholic saints, having them represent the voodoo spirits.

They put Christian words… Is it ok for me to take a drink of water while you think and meditate for a few moments on what I just said.

They would put Christian words to their voodoo rhythms.

And in so doing, they deceived their Catholic slave owners.

Well in 1791 when the French Revolution kicked off, something else happened, because this French province, as it were, got the smell of rebellion.

The slaves heard what was happening over in France.

They heard that the people were rising up against the priests and against the church and the same spirit of rebellion infused them.

They said, wait a minute, if they're doing it over there, We should do it right here.

And they rose up in rebellion against their Catholic slave owners.

In fact, it was a man by the name of Buchmann Dutty who was a Jamaican.

Bookman who led out in this voodoo ceremony that kicked off, that helped kick off this revolution, and it became known as the only successful slave revolt in all of history.

And that place, after the revolt took place and was successful, changed its name from Saint Domingo to Haiti.

Now in case there are any Haitians in here, remember Bookman was a Jamaican.

Let me tell you something, I am never offended.

When we stop taking our culture as black and white or...

When I become born again I am born again as a citizen of heaven.

All right so just wanted to make that clear.

So, Haiti, the capital, the Mecca of voodoo.

How many of you remember the quote where Ellen White says, man, I wish I had it, that Protestantism will be foremost in stretching its hand over the what?

To clasp hands with 2 powers, Catholicism and what?

In 1804, something absolutely mind-blowing takes place.

France is in need of money because of the wars they've just been through.

They own the beast from the abyss Owns a piece of real estate found right in the middle of the beast from the earth It goes right down the middle of America it is called Louisiana.

America, or rather France, sells this piece of property, the beast from the abyss, sells this piece of property to the beast from the earth.

When that agreement takes place, by the way, called the what?

Louisiana Purchase, something else happens.

Thousands of these voodoo practitioners begin to make their way over to Louisiana, in particular to a place called AKA Little France.
