How to Know God’s Will For Your Life

Now we're going to take a look at an important topic, and Joachim has actually touched on it.

It's how to know God's will for your life.

And I think this is something we all ask ourselves, at least me, quite often.

What is your will for this day, for this week, for this year.

Almost every year, the last year, I have to ask God, what is your plan next?

Because I've been involved in many things and I've not been sure exactly where God wants to lead me.

And that has brought me down on the knees.

And I think that is part of the blessing of, you know, when we don't know the future, we can turn to the 1 who created us and know our future and what is best for us.

I just wanna have a short prayer again as we start.

Dear Father in heaven, I just pray that you may put your words in my mouth, make up for my deficiencies, and may you use me, may you speak to all our hearts, and may we get a clearer picture of what your will is for our lives and how we can find it in small matters, in big matters, I pray for all that are listening, that you may especially bless them and speak to their hearts as well as to mine in Jesus name.

So before we consider how to know Gauss will in specific matters, I think we have to, to ask ourselves some questions.

And first of all, let's see here if this will work.

So first of all, we have to ask ourselves the question, what is God's overall purpose for me in this world?

We know that this planet is right now the center of the great controversy in the whole universe.

And I think that you and I are here because of a special purpose.

I think we are here in such a time as this for a specific purpose in God's plan in this great controversy.

And I believe you're here at impact because you believe in God and because you want to serve Him.

My name is Christian, but I'm also a Christian.

A Christian, well, tell me, help me, what does it mean?

So basically we can say it's a follower of Christ, right?

What was Christ's mission here in this world?

Luke 19 verse 10, it says, For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

This was Christ's mission here on earth, and it's still in a sense Christ's mission because he's still trying to gather to save people in this world.

Did you know that if you're a Christian, this is also why you're here.

With Christ's help, we are here to seek and to save those who are lost.

In 2 Corinthians, can we read 2 Corinthians 5, verse 20?

We have some text we'll go through, but some don't have on the screen.

And it says, Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us.

We pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

This shows us even more our purpose in this world.

We are representing Christ in this world in this great controversy.

You are called to be used in His service.

So it is clear that this is the purpose, this is the overall purpose why you are here on this earth.

And read from Ministry of Healing page 395, true education is missionary training.

Every son and daughter of God is called to be a missionary.

We are called to the service of God and our fellow men and to fit us for this service should be the object of our education.

Okay, all of us are born under heaven as missionary, as a missionary in service to Christ, to God.

He wants to equip us so we know that God's overall purpose for us to know God's will if we understand that we are ambassadors for Christ, if we understand that we are at this planet to represent Him, to reach out to the lost, to give a helping hand to people around us.

If we understand that, then it's easy to also understand that we need some education.

We need some education from God's Word, from the Spirit of Prophecy, from God Himself to fit us to service.

That doesn't mean that, you know, it's easy to say, you know, I don't know.

I don't know enough about the Word of God that's shared with someone.

That doesn't mean that you have to take 1 year in training before you can open your mouth and share the Word of God.

But we also need to educate ourselves more and more to be more efficient ambassadors for Christ.

So if you're an ambassador for Christ, to seek souls for him, to seek the lost and lead him to Christ, then what course will your life take?

Something is going to happen to you If you say, you know, God, I'm your ambassador.

And if you want to know how to do these things, study God's Word.

The fact that we are missionaries will help us to understand God's will.

And if you want to know how to have the best health, where do we go?

That will help us understand God's will for our health, physically, mentally and spiritually.

If you want to know how to grow in faith, where do we go?

If we want to know how to get a better prayer life, go to the Word of God and see how Christ instructed us to pray.

See how people prayed, how God used people, The most mighty prayer warriors.

If you want to know how to find your future spouse, where do we go?

Well, you may not find the name of your future spouse in the Bible, but you will realize what you should look for and what you should avoid.

If you want to know what character we need to have as Christians, go to the Word of God.

If you want to know what is appropriate entertainment, go to the Word of God.

So we need to study God's Word to understand His will for us.

And also, you know, there is no command, unfortunately, in this world that says where you personally are going to settle, where you're going to live, what you're going to work with.

But this is why I will show you some steps how we can get help to know questions that are more specific.

So I hope that as we look at these 5 steps to know God's will, I hope that you will be able to see God's will in smaller matters and bigger matters.

I think you can apply to both, but like I said before, we do that we have to understand our main purpose in this world because this will help us to understand God's will in smaller and bigger matters.
