The Pre-Advent Judgment

So we're going to try to move quickly in the presentations.

This is to jog your memories of what you knew and to stimulate your understanding and get you to study more about who Jesus and what he is doing in the sanctuary.

I hope you're getting used to this notion of talking about the sanctuary, being in the sanctuary, and perhaps that's an emerging theme, that if you can follow John, who is a type of God's people, through the open doors into the sanctuary and now since 1844 looking into the most holy place and seeing what Jesus does it's exciting stuff So John learned a lot of things on the Isle of Patmos while he was there.

And as we've discussed, the door is open in heaven.

I just want to ask us momentarily, we have the privilege this morning of looking through that open door, are you really interested in what Jesus is doing for you and as we learned in you in this last time.

Do you have confidence that the work which Jesus began in you, he will complete it by the second coming?

You know, Jesus said, when the Son of Man comes, will he find what in the earth?

I mean, if you, as Norman mentioned last night, if you cannot believe Jesus has forgiven your sins in the past, which is justification, how can you believe that Jesus can forgive your sins and cleanse you?

Remember the last half of 1 John 1, 9, as to cleanse you from all unrighteousness he will complete the work that he began in you if you will let him and that is the biggest fight is the fight with self bigger than any war between nations bigger than global jihad is the fight to give up on your self so let's make sure that we do that You know the sanctuary in heaven is the very nerve center of Christ's work on behalf of man.

So it is of utmost importance that we should all thoroughly investigate these subjects.

If you're spending more time worrying about politics this fall than you are about what Jesus is doing for you I would suggest a change of priorities because we cannot affect the politics thank God for that but Jesus can affect us and that's that is the most important thing.

Let's remind ourselves that God told Moses to the children of Israel, make me a sanctuary that I can dwell among you." And Jesus and the heavenly trio, Ellen White doesn't use the word Trinity, but she says the heavenly trio has been interested in rescuing fallen mankind, humankind, ever since the fall of Adam and Eve.

And as God began to make His covenant, first with Noah, Well, he made it with Adam and Eve in Genesis 3.15, then with Noah, then with Abraham, he made this covenant, he says, I wanna now, when I've brought you out of Egypt, I wanna make a sanctuary and visibly dwell among you.

And of course, now we know in Hebrews, we have such a high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the majesty of heavens a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched and not man.

Jesus now is the reality as we learned last evening.

It was only a type and shadow in the Old Testament.

By faith they took the blood of the lamb and put it into the sanctuary.

And then on the day of atonement it was brought back out and the sins were taken away.

The magnificence and majesty of God in this universe is so wonderful.

It just takes your mind off of the petty issues of this earth and begins to help you to think heavenward.

So thy way, God's way is in the sanctuary.

At that beginning of that fearsome passage on the blessings and cursings of Leviticus 26 he reminds us in verse 2 you shall keep my Sabbath and reverence my sanctuary Now it wasn't reverencing the nuts and bolts and the pilasters and the veils and and sockets and all of that, but it's reverence my sanctuary because I dwell there.

You're reverencing the God who lives in that sanctuary.

And my all-time favorite passage, the Lord hear thee in the day of trouble.

Has anybody got any reaccreditation exams to take?

Whatever their trouble is, the name of the God of Jacob will defend thee and send thee help from the sanctuary and strengthen thee out of his kingdom Zion.

Now if you don't remember a thing throughout this weekend remember where your help comes from the sanctuary.

Now this will be maybe perhaps a quicker review since as we are proceeding through the various lectures and sermons we're overlapping a little bit and that's good.

What apartment is Jesus in when he sits down and takes the scroll?

He sits on the sides of the north, the place of the table of showbread at the right hand of the Father.

They are equal, 6 loaves on each one." I learned that from 1 of Norman's sermons.

I noticed he learned something from 1 of my things last night, but we're learning from each other and there are so many of you in the audience that have given me wonderful ideas as a result of my commentaries.

I am just thankful that you shared with me.

All right, John views this victorious and glorified Jesus in chapter 1 who has wisdom and grace and power.

Holy Place because he's around the candlesticks.

We've used this angel in chapter 8, 3 to 5.

Jesus takes the censer and begins his mediatorial work.

We just talked about Jesus coming down to earth, this magnificent mighty angel at the end of the 2300 days announcing to the old and the new world there was no more prophetic time.

You know 1 of the criticisms of evangelical scholars is that our interpretation of scripture seems so parochial and limited.

And it should be a worldwide gospel and message and all the rest of that.

What was happening just before the flood?

Evil continually and God repented, we talked about that, and he says I'm gonna have to start over he starts over and then after they resettle the earth after the flood he says you know what people are just gonna keep sinning regardless of what's going on.

And so he starts at the very beginning with Abraham, calls him out of Ur of the Chaldees, makes a covenant with him and begins to reestablish the thoughts of the God of heaven on this earth.

And from Abraham we know the children of Israel came and all of this and the writings of Moses and the prophets and this began to spread into the Mediterranean at the crossroads of the Middle East and they were to give the gospel of Jesus what coming?

First coming which they didn't do too well.

And if you read that first chapter, first paragraph or 2 in the desire of ages in the first page says the world was dark with the misapprehension of God.

Satan had succeeding and terrifying people of God because he knew Jesus was about to be born on this earth.

Jesus came to show us the Father and begin the kingdom of God on this earth and his disciples spread it to the then known world as we know through the 7 churches.

So he begins and he starts, and then he provides a place in the wilderness for God's people to go to, the mountain fastnesses of the Alps, the shores of the United States, the word begins to spread, the Great Advent Movement goes around the world through Joseph Wolfe and other missionaries.

And so we are reaching this moment when This now, this message, the Judgment Hour message is to go to all the world.

It's taken a long time for God's people to understand and teach and preach and missionize and do this thing about Jesus, what coming?

So I think it's an invalid criticism to say that we do we have a parochial message or whatever you know it it comes down in the worship of Jesus or Satan it becomes a worldwide issue doesn't it?

The message of Revelation 14 6 to 12 and the loud cry is going to reach the world.

Satan is going to have all the world wondering after the beast except those 144, 000 that love Jesus.

So it is going to become global and God knows the hearts of mankind through the millennia, through the centuries and he will know the best thing to do he will know.

John hears the voice we've heard that now we get to We're coming into this pre-advent judgment idea.

John is told by the angel, same angel in chapter 10 by the way, measure the temple of God and the altar and them that worship therein.

After this terrible disappointment where William Miller and his followers thought Jesus was coming back, they were totally disappointed.

They wept until there were no more tears to shed.

The despair was enormous and Jesus tells John and by extension his people, get up measure the temple of God, the altar and them that worship therein.

They are to measure with the rod the copper altar which represents the sacrifice of Jesus, the sacrifice of Christ and the sanctuary which is the ministry of Jesus.

The rod of God, if you trace it through the Bible, is Jesus.

That Moses held up when they were fighting the Midianites.

And the scary thing, though, as we move into this judgment hour message, you measure these.

That again alludes to this time of judgment, not that he's always been looking, do you measure up, and that scares people totally.

But the only other option is to ignore it and go your own way and that's equally deadly.

I would rather, as David said, let me fall into the hand of the Lord rather than my friends or my enemies.

So let's let's fall into the hand of the Lord and let him clean up the mess.

Don't even worry about all the problems, we read that last night, let him clean up the mess.

So Jesus follows his father into the most holy place to begin his ministry of judging and that is the most holy place.
