Lift up the trumpet and loud let it ring, Jesus is coming again.

Cheer up you pilgrims, be joyful and sing, Jesus is coming again.

This is the voice of prophecy, a voice crying in the wilderness of these modern days.

We open this broadcast with a song of happiness, My Sins Are Gone.

You ask why I am happy, so I'll just tell you why, because my sins are gone.

And when I meet the scalpers who ask me where they are, I say my sins are gone.

They're underneath the blood on the cross of Calvary, As far removed as darkness is from dawn, In the sea of God's forgetfulness, That's good enough for me.

I'm happy night and day because my sins are gone.

Here now is HMS Richards, the voice of prophecy speaker.

Not long ago, 1 of my dear friends of many years died.

He had lived a happy, useful Christian life.

He was not much short of a hundred years when he fell asleep in Christ.

A medical doctor, also a minister of the gospel, he'd given his life freely in service to others.

When he was more than 80 years old, he made a survey of his life and took inventory.

He said that he found to his amazement that he should be listed among America's multi millionaires.

1 day he overheard a patient in conversation with a newcomer at the hospital.

As they talked in the lobby, the patient said, that's Dr.

My doctor friend was amused at the statement because he really was a poor man, financially speaking.

At that very time, he had a $3, 000 mortgage on his home and less than a $48 in the bank.

But as he thought about things he realized that after all he was a millionaire.

He had a degree of health that he never expected to possess, for at the age of 40 he had read his own obituary.

It was headed, The Voice We Once Heard We Shall Hear No More.

He said it was a delightful account of all the good he had accomplished and it deplored the fact that 1 so promising should be laid to rest so early in life.

The writer closed by saying, This world can ill afford to lose men like Dr.

Not many of us get to read our own obituaries, but he did.

Cable messages, telegrams, scores of letters of condolence came to his wife, all of which he had the privilege of reading.

It was a real surprise to him to learn what a fine man he was.

Up to this point he had not taken care of his health as he should have.

Next to character, health is the greatest, most valuable possession a man can have.

Someone has said in order to live to a ripe old age it's necessary to be rejected by a first-class life insurance company and then take care of yourself.

The doctor said that he had to have a real jolt in order to really appreciate his health and look after it.

What would he take for the health he'd accumulated in those years?

Suppose some invalid had said, Doctor I'll give you a million dollars for your health.

Well there are many invalids who are millionaires who would be glad to make such an exchange.

The doctor said he would have turned down the offer without giving it a second thought.

He'd say, I'm sorry my health's too valuable to sell for a million dollars?" Who of us would sell our health for a million dollars and then be an invalid the rest of our days?

But health was only 1 of his possessions.

The report of his inventory says that he would not dwell upon her virtues except to say that she stood by his side faithfully for over 50 years, nursed him back to health when he was at the point of death, and regarded it as a hopeless case.

What would he take in exchange for his wife?
