A Parallel between Daniel 3 and Revelation 13

So did you notice the theme for our message this morning?

In other words, who is in control of your life?

And currently I'm teaching the book of Daniel here in the college.

And so we are going chapter by chapter and verse by verse in the book of Daniel.

And I thought about developing this theme, who is ruling your life or who is in control of your life, in the book of Daniel, okay?

And I want you to turn your Bibles with me to Daniel chapter 3.

Let's open up our Bibles there to Daniel chapter 3, okay?

And before we explore Daniel chapter 3 and the theme of who is ruling your life, I want to give you just a few principles of how we can understand the book of Daniel, okay?

Because if you can follow in the screen, the book of Daniel has 2 main sections, okay?

The first section that we can see, we call historical chapters that are what?

So these are not the prophetic chapters that we know of Daniel, like Daniel 2, the image of the dream of Nebuchadnezzar.

So these are not these chapters, okay, the 4 beasts, I'm sorry.

So These are historical chapters that are prophetic.

I want you to see it includes chapter 1, chapter 3, chapter 4, 5, and 6, And it shows God's dealings with Babylon and Middle Persia.

And we call it historical chapters and prophetic at the same time because we find in the Bible A principle that history repeats itself.

In other words, there is nothing new under the sun and history repeats itself.

And if we want to understand the present and the future, we need to understand the past.

Another principle of biblical interpretation for the book of Daniel is biblical typology.

Biblical typology is when we find a Bible character or a story in the Bible that has several elements that we see there is a greater fulfillment in the future.

And then we call Bible typology because through those elements we can see a greater fulfillment in the future with God's people.

And I'd like to suggest this morning that these historical prophetic chapters of Daniel, chapter 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, they are prophetic as well when we take this in consideration.

And I'll show you from the Spirit of Prophecy a confirmation of that in a little bit.

And from the Bible itself we can also establish these principles.

So these are the 2 main sections that we find.

The second section in the book of Daniel are prophetic chapters that are what?

So these are the famous chapters of Daniel, the prophecies.

Daniel 2, Daniel 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, they're all prophetic chapters.

And we call historical so you can read here because it's fulfillment we find throughout the development of history.

The present, they present the world nations that would succeed Babylon up to the establishment of the kingdom of God.

So we can see through history the fulfillment of these chapters, okay?

So having that in mind, I wanna show from the Spirit of Prophecy that this chapter 3, which chapter are we studying, Daniel?

Chapter 3 is actually, without any shadow of a doubt, has a greater fulfillment in the future.

You know, sometimes we study the book of Revelation and the revelation, you know, of Jesus, it gives you like the skeleton of the prophecies concerning the last days.

But if you really want to know how we as God's people should respond to the events that will take place in the last days, I'd like to suggest to you that the book of Daniel, this historical prophetic chapter, they are like the flesh in the skeleton.

It help us, it is like the organs as well.

It help us to really see the big picture of what's going to happen in the last days and what is our responsibility, what we should do as God's people as we face the final crisis, okay?

Notice this statement from the Spirit of Prophecy.

His image is talking about the image of Nebuchadnezzar that we find here in chapter 3.

And I assume that most of you know the story, so that's why I'm already giving you what Ellen G.

His image should not, what is the next word there?

Remember, in chapter 2, Nabucnazar had a vision and According to the vision, the head was made out of gold, and then the breast out of silver, and then brass, iron, and iron and clay.

But in chapter 3, the vision, or I'm sorry, the image that he set up was all of gold.

And then it goes on to say, if you follow with me, it will not deteriorate in value from the heads to the feet, but should be entirely of gold, symbolic throughout of Babylon as an eternal, what kind of kingdom?

Eternal, indestructible, all-powerful kingdom which should break in pieces all other kingdoms and stand, what is the next word there?

So that was the intention of Nebuchadnezzar when he put that image.

In chapter 2, if you remember the end of chapter 2, he was so impressed with the interpretation of the dream that he actually bowed down before Daniel and he worshipped the God of heaven.

And for a period of time he became faithful, follower of the God of Israel.

But eventually his conviction fade away and then he turned to idolatry again.

And he had an idea, he said, you know what, I'm going to make an image made out of gold.

And the message that I'm giving there is contrary to the message that God gave in chapter 2.

He was giving basically a different interpretation of the dream.

He was saying that his kingdom was going to exist forever, meaning that God was not going to replace the kingdoms and finally establish his everlasting kingdom.

Nabuchadnezzar gave a different interpretation of the dream.

He was basically acting as a false prophet.

I don't have here the quote, but she comments that he acted like a false prophet, okay, by giving a different interpretation to the dream.

Now notice, I want you to see this statement here.

Daniel's interpretation was to be, what is the next word there?

He was intentional about that image and forgotten.

So we are dealing here the battle, you know, Falsehood against truth.

It says clearly here, truth was to be, what is the next word?

Misrepresenting the truth and misapplying the truth.

And according to what we read in chapter 3, if you have your Bibles open there, you can see in verse 1, 2, and 3 that Nabucnazar, he called all the representatives of all the nations of the world to be there so He could send a message and they would bring back to their nation this message that Babylon would be an everlasting kingdom, and that was false.

Now notice this statement from the Spirit of Prophecy.

History will, what is the next word there?

Repeat itself, so that's why I told you that is actually a safe biblical principle of interpretation here for the book of Daniel, history will repeat itself in this age, the great test will be upon the point of the Sabbath observance.

Arrival Sabbath is exalted, we know it's Sunday.

As was the great, and then she compares the exaltation of Sunday worship to what?

Can you see that she is basically saying that history will repeat?

And then she is referring to the golden image of Nebuchadnezzar.

Leaders claiming to be Christians will call upon the world to observe the spirit Sabbath that they have made.

All who refuse will be put under oppressive, what is the next word there?
