In the Mind of Judas

Obviously, you either had a bad week or you don't believe what I said.

I'm going to take my seat because I don't believe that's the reaction a born-again Christian should respond.

So I'm gonna sit down and understand some of you.

I thank God so much for this opportunity for having me here.

I never take it lightly, nor do I take it for granted, any time I have the opportunity to open the Bible.

And today's very simple message, I'm going to be talking about your thoughts.

See, many people have a preconceived notion that a bad thought is a sin, which is not necessarily true.

The action based upon the thought, that is the sin.

Now as we look about thoughts today, talk about thoughts, I'm going to come and we're going to look at the life of Judas, Judas Iscariot, to see where his thoughts led him.

And as I speak, I want you to be please, please look into your heart and ask yourself a question, do you really, do I, do I really have a relationship with Jesus?

Ask that question to yourself, all right?

Before I open this holy book, we have to pray.

In the name of Jesus, Lord, we thank you so much for your Holy Spirit that is real.

We thank you so much for your Holy Spirit that is here.

And Lord, in the name of Jesus, I pray that you will fill each and every 1 of us that we will not leave this place the same but changed Lord please make a change in our hearts Lord if somebody here does not know you I pray that they would get to know you before it's too late.

Lord, we thank you so much for salvation through Jesus Christ.

Luke 22 and the word of God reads in verse 1, now the feast of unleavened bread drew near, which is called the Passover, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him, for they feared the people.

They wanted to talk about Jesus, they wanted to kill Jesus.

What are we living in that would cause us to want to take another man's life, to even have the thought to kill another person?

It constitutes to about 16% of your total body weight.

It protects you from bacterial invasion, ultraviolet light, and dehydration.

The dermis, the epidermis, and the hypodermis.

But today I'm not going to refer to it so much as the skin, but as the flesh.

It's because we are living in the flesh we have a sinful nature.

The flesh is no more but a sinful nature.

We're living in the flesh, but even though we're living in the flesh, we are prone to sin, that gives us no excuse to sin because we have victory through Jesus Christ.

But we're living in the sin that will give these men a thought to kill Jesus.

Verse 3, Then Satan entered Judas, sir named Iscariot, who was numbered amongst the 12.

The word Iscariot, I looked in 2 different dictionaries And the first meaning I came across was, it said the word Iscariot is Aramaic, and it means man from Kirov.

Kirov was a city in Judah, which lies 20 miles south of Jerusalem.

The second definition I found was, the scholar said Iscariot is an appellative, which is usually added to the name of Judas.

But there is no meaning for that word in the Greek.

So most scholars believe that it's derived from the Latin word, sicarius, which is thus translated as dagger man or assassin, Judas.

Desire of Ages, page 718 says, his, talking about Judas, Judas's heart was open to unbelief and the enemy supplied thoughts of questioning and rebellion.

Judas's mind was open So the enemy put thoughts of rebellion in his brain.

It all starts right here, the brain, the most complex organ of the body.

It weighs about 3 pounds, about 2 percent of your total body weight.

The brain consumes 20 to 30 percent of the body's energy, which means 20 to 30% of the calories you intake, the brain utilizes it.

If you wanna lose weight, start thinking a little harder.

That's just how powerful the mind is, powerful.

And all you medical, dental, nursing, public health students, if my facts, medical facts, are not correct, don't get mad at me.

So don't try to rebuke me after the sermon.

You go right Google and complain to them.

I remember we used to, me and my brother, make lemonade for our mother.

And you know when you cut a lemon, it smells really good.
