Wilderness Living in the End Times

Jay Peterson

1. Introduction

Our Father, we're so thankful that you have given us your messenger, Ellen White, to tell us about what's coming down the pipe here for these last days.

We're thankful for your Bible, it also tells us.

And we're so thankful that you have raised up Jay Peterson to help us with these last days, some of these wilderness survival in these last days.

And we ask you that you will bless him this entire week and during this meeting right now as we start things off in your name I pray.

Craig's already told you my name's Jay Peterson.

Tomorrow we'll get into more of my credentials.

Today I want to do something special that I haven't done the other 2 times I was here.

And I go to a lot of churches and do these seminars.

Been doing that for several years, even different states.

And 1 of the things that I run into is that amongst God's people, there's a fear of what's coming.

Anybody here willing to admit that, you know, they have some level of fear about what's gonna happen?

Yeah, I know a lot of you probably don't wanna raise your hand.

But that's the truth, I find it everywhere.

The Lord has given me a wonderful job to do.

The thing that he has given me to do is I get to help squash that fear.

That's what we're gonna work on this week.

1 is, and that's what we're gonna work on today, is that I get to turn your fearfulness to the Lord.

Okay, that's what we're gonna try and do today.

Okay, the second thing I get to do is I get to give you techniques on how to live out there in the wilderness in the end times.

And a lot of people, You know, we're so used to Walmart and Meijer and places like that that we've lost a lot of the skills that the Indians used to have.

That's what I've been interested in for 30 years now.

You know, I've been reading through my Bible.

And I remember the Gospels talking about a man that was blind alongside the road.

And he found out that it was Jesus And he calls out, you know, to the point to where he was even making a spectacle.

And, you know, they were trying to shut him up.

When he gets to Jesus, Jesus asks him, What do you want me to do for you?

The man replies, Lord, I would like my eyes to be open.

All of us sitting here this morning have a certain amount of our eyes that are closed.

And that is my prayer today, that our eyes will be opened and we will learn what God wants us to know for this time that's coming.

So let's bow our heads for another prayer.

Dear Father, thank you that you've told us what's going to happen.

Lord, we ask you to handle our fear about it.

Also, Lord, this week teach us how to live out there when we have nothing in our hands.

So be with us this morning and help us this we pray in Jesus name, amen.

Okay, there's a lot of fear, couple of different reasons.

1 is that we already know that Jesus has told us, Daniel has told us, that there's going to be a time of trouble.

This time of trouble, Jesus said, is going to be worse than any other time of trouble.

And it's going to be worse than any other time of trouble will be.

A lot of people hear that and they shudder.

You know Our local police forces are going to be in on it.

We know that God's people are going to be on the brunt of that.

And so, you know, there's a lot of stuff that's going to be going on.

And basically, I have a session that I do down in Lawrence, and I'm working with a guy there.

We have a person that's in the Green Beret and he told us that currently right now our military and our police forces they have the ability to shut a whole city down in 10 minutes.

I've had people ask, you know, well are you gonna teach us how to hide?

Our military has the ability to see you even in this building if they're outside.

Our military has satellites up there, and these satellites can see from several hundred miles up, they can read a postage stamp in the middle of the road through the clouds.

Okay, If God does not do something with their equipment, you are not going to hide from them.

So, that isn't 1 of the things that I teach.

Although I know how to do it, I have their manuals, and I've seen what they teach, but that is not God's idea.

You're probably going to be familiar with these stories.

You may not have thought about them in the way that we're going to use them.

But There was a time when the king of Assyria, and he had built up an army.

This army was the best army in the whole world at the time.

He had conquered all the other armies, and he had even conquered a lot of Israel.

Okay, this was a time when Israel had taken part of Israel and they had split, and part of them had taken their eyes off God.

And they've lost His protection and His guidance, and this army was able to overtake them.

The king of Assyria, He decides that he's got his eyes set on Jerusalem.

And so he marches his general over there with his army.

And his general gets to the wall, and he starts talking bad about God.

And how you guys, you can't trust your Lord because He's not going to save you.

And he was talking about how God did not save the other ones of Israel.

Now, 1 of the things that I've seen in Scripture is if you challenge God, that's when He does big things.

And so this general is talking to the Israelites in their tongue, and the representatives that King Hezekiah had sent out had told these guys, don't talk in that, talk in Aramaic, because then these guys won't understand.

And the general says, no, I want them to hear this too.

Well, the 3 representatives that King Hezekiah had sent out, come back to Hezekiah and they tell him what this general is planning on doing.

And so Hezekiah writes a letter, and he sends this letter over to Prophet Isaiah.

And the Prophet Isaiah gets this letter and he takes it in and he starts praying over it.

At the same time, Hezekiah's over at the temple and he's praying because this army that is out there is the best army in the world and he knew that for them to go against that army that that was impossible for them to win.

So, Isaiah goes to God, and he gets an answer from God.

And he sends the answer back, and Hezekiah gets that, And he takes that back to the temple and he lays it down and he starts reading it.

And Isaiah had said that God has said, okay, God has said, that this army will not invade Jerusalem.

As a matter of fact, God is going to put a ring in their nose and he's going to lead them back to where they came from.

Because they were talking smack against God.

That night, God sends 1 angel into that camp.

And that 1 angel, in the middle of the night, destroyed 185, 000 of those soldiers, 1 angel.

Now we have a story of Egypt and an angel went into Egypt and the only the thing we hear there that when people were realizing what went on, that you could hear the crying from inside houses.

2. Shelter

Father, I want to thank you for all of the warnings you've given us and also the stuff that you've put in your word so that give us directions.

And today we're going to get into some stuff that is old traditional skills.

And we thank you that those are still around so that we can learn them.

And so we ask that you send your Holy Spirit here.

Help us to pick up on what we're going to need, whatever it is that we're going to face.

We want you to go ahead and give us the knowledge to go ahead and do that, so come Holy Spirit be with us.

Okay, Yesterday we talked about several different stories in the Bible that helped us to understand that God wants to take care of the danger.

He wants us to look to him, okay, and that he's able to do that.

Now, we're talking about living in the wilderness in the end times.

Actually, I guess I should introduce a couple here.

I'm a student and a teacher for 30 years now.

I say a student because there are still things I'm learning.

You can be in this for a lifetime and still somebody will come along and say, hey, look how I did this.

You know, so I'm still a student as well as an instructor.

And this next guy on the list is Scott Fessenden.

And Scott actually went to Tom Brown's school.

Tom Brown is a gentleman that he and his friend, when they were boys, had an Indian that taught them a lot of things on how to live out in the wilderness.

And after Tom got a little older, there were times when he lives out east, there were times when the state police would hire him and have him come and help them to find someone that was lost.

And there were times when they found the person when it was too late.

And it bothered Tom when they found a person that had been overcome by cold, and they had passed away, when if they'd have just known some skills like we're going to go over today, they'd have been just fine.

There were times when they found people that had starved to death And they were in the middle of a field that was full of wild edibles.

And so Tom Brown is actually the 1 that started survival training schools that has now gone clear across the nation and even worldwide.

And Scott got interested in that and he went out to Tom Brown's school.

Well, a little later on, after Scott come back here and he practiced his skills, later on he was out at Tom Brown's school as a teacher.

And Scott started doing a lot of seminars.

He started doing a lot and he even did a TV show, which we will see a little clip of part of that today.

And our military here in Michigan hires Scott every year to go to Grayling and teach our special forces.

A lot of times our special forces will get cut off from their supplies and they have to make it back on their own without their supplies.

There's an area down in the southern part of the state, but a lot of times at Grayling.

And so actually I'm kind of lucky though, because Scott's my brother-in-law.

And So we get chance, not as much chance anymore to get together and just go play.

And we've done a couple this year already where we were actually making arrowheads out of flint.

So, You know, it's a couple of things we do.

And Ray Mears I've never actually shook hands with.

But, you know, you can be in this for a long time, learn a lot of things, and there's always somebody that knows more.

You know, even the experts, you know, they're an expert.

Some people call me an expert, and I ask them, okay, well, where is the threshold when you actually become an expert, whether it's survival.

But all these experts, and Ray is the guy that Scott and I look up to.

There are things that Ray can do that when you go to the survival schools, they tell you you can't do.

You can't do this, but Ray does them, okay.

And Ray is another 1 that Scott and I, we've always been interested in the old traditional skills.

These are the ways that the Indians actually used to live.

Well, that's what we've always been interested in.

Ray is another 1 that has studied into that a great deal.

And he's traveled all over the world and even gone to some of the tribes that are still, you know, backwoods tribes and learned from them their skills.

And so Ray is another guy and I think we'll have a couple little things on here.

Normally when I do this, you know, these sessions are 2 hours long or more.

And as you'll notice on the schedule, We only got about an hour and 15 minutes in this 1.

And so some of that stuff that Ray, well, we will have Ray on our fire series because he'll do a couple of those for us up there on the screen.

So anyway, we'll have Ray to help us out as well on the screen.

And, you know, if you Google Ray Mears or YouTube him, you'll see all kinds of his stuff there.

This is our website, although currently our website's down and our webmaster's working on it.

I did contact the guy that hosts our website.

So I don't know if it's up yet, but that's the website.

Now we do have a Facebook page as well with the same name, okay.

So if you go, if you're on Facebook and you go look and look for the basic survival, the number 4 end time events, And you'll find our website and also our Facebook page.

And so you'll see things that are going on.

White has told us a lot of things about the time that we're headed into.

You know, we're right at the door actually, the door's opening, and we're going to walk through whether we want to or not.

1 of the things she tells us that is going to happen in that time is that all earthly support is going to be withdrawn from God's people.

Well, how much does that actually entail?

I was doing a seminar and I started talking about some of the medicines you can find out there if you're in a survival situation.

3. Water

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then what's going to happen?

The verse just before this tells you that the Father knows whatever your needs are, no matter what they are.

You know, Jesus made a list there of people and their concerns, you know.

But if whatever you need is not in that list, the Father still knows that.

And Jesus is trying to say, look, if you seek my kingdom and the Father's and mine, Holy Spirit's righteousness, that then that gives me the right in this controversy between Lucifer and I to take care of you.

So anyways, we're going to talk about water.

Now, that's a lot of water right there, isn't it?

Now, In the end times, how many support are we going to receive from, or how much support are we going to receive from earthly sources?

Okay, so this is going to be a lot like a survival situation.

You know, I do a lot of survival classes.

And when you're in a survival situation, you have to treat water differently than when you're not.

Okay, now this body of water right here is actually a river and it's by my house and I've gone swimming in here a lot and there are probably times when I drank some of the water when I was swimming and stuff.

Okay, if there were bad guys in that water and I had done that and I had gotten sick, well then I'd just go to the doctor and the doctor would diagnose it and he'd give me some medicine and I would take the medicine that killed the bad guys off, I'd be okay.

A lot of times they do flagellate, you know.

And but now in a survival situation or in the end times, you know, we may have a doctor in our group.

We may have a doctor in our group, and he may be able to even diagnose what's going on.

But, you know, without his laboratory and without the pharmacy, he's going to have a little more trouble, wouldn't he?

So do you believe that if we have to flee on our own that God will direct us to others?

That's—you can read that in either early writings or Great Converse.

She talks about the bands that are moving into the dense forest.

And she even talks about how some bands will meet up with other bands.

So yes, I believe that absolutely because she told us that.

Well, anyways, in the end times, we're going to have to treat water differently than we would now.

Now we still have our doctors And we still have our pharmacies and things like that.

And now we're going to talk on Thursday about some plants that can be used and some techniques that we can use that would help, okay?

But we don't want to get in that situation in the first place, right?

So this water right here, I got to go this way because you guys aren't looking at that.

This water right here, we cannot trust that right off the bat, okay?

A lot of the bad boys that get in the water come from animals.

If the animals can get to the water before you do, then you have to consider it already contaminated and treat it that way.

Now, we want to look at there are 4 groups of bad boys.

Each group contains lots and lots of bad boys in them, okay?

We have the parasites and we have protozoa, we have the bacteria and the viruses.

Those 4 areas house a whole bunch of different little critters that can cause us trouble, make us sick.

Okay, we want to talk about parasites and protozoa.

We want to talk about those kind of together because there's some crossover between those 2.

A parasite is a little critter that most of the time gives us troubles.

Parasites are something that are going to go in and attach themselves.

And a lot of times, you know, how many of you have ever heard of somebody going to Mexico and they drank some of the water and all of a sudden they started diarrhea and vomiting and that's because these little guys get in there and they start attaching, they start growing colonies and these colonies are chewing on the colon and it ends up causing a really sore spot and the body decides I got to get rid of that and so that's what it does to get rid of it is the diarrhea, the vomiting and all that.

And so, you know, I want to talk about parasites because that's what they do.

Now protozoa, there are some of the protozoa that are parasites.

Now protozoa means that it's a single cell little organism.

But there are some single cell ones that will attach themselves and become a parasite, and a parasitic is what they call that, you know.

But then there are other parasites and protozoa that are free roaming, right?

Some of them can end up in your heart and, you know, just cause all kinds of troubles.

And so these 2 guys here, there's some crossover between the 2, so I talk about those together.

Now bacteria is something that a lot of us have heard of that word before.

And those are little organisms as well, sometimes more than 1 cell.

And some of them are good and some of them are bad.

You know, we have bacteria all over in this earth.

And I'm an organic grower, and so we rely on God's nutrient cycles and he uses the bacteria to release all these nutrients for the plants.

And so there are good bacterias, but then there are some bad bacterias.

And when it gets into the water and they make us sick, we're going to put those into the bad bacteria for us anyways.

Well, let's see, it was about 30 some years ago now.
