Objectives
1. Review ocular anatomy and tear film.
2. Learn subjective and objective findings associated with ocular surface dryness.
3. Learn systemic contributors to ocular surface dryness including demographics, medications, and disease.
Systemic Contributors to the “My Eyes Feel Dry” Complaint will begin with a brief review of ocular anatomy and tear make-up. This will be followed by a brief discussion of subjective and objective findings associated with ocular surface dryness. Systemic contributors, demographics, medications, and disease, to ocular surface dryness will be discussed in depth. A brief discussion regarding potential treatment options will form the conclusion.
