Home Gardening - Part 1

Father in heaven, just thank you for all the things you do for us.

Alright, I want to show you a few quick pictures here.

I've been to Brazil several times and a little mission school down there, thank you, a little mission school down there called the School of the Prophets.

You can see in the background there that's a pretty steep hillside.

You can see that's a pretty steep hillside.

We got a backhoe on there and it was too steep.

And so the director of the mission there hired about 30 of the local guys there and they would come out and dig with their cadallis I guess we call them it's a big hole like this and you swing it that way they could dig a a large planting hole for the Ellen White planting method almost as quick as we could do with the backhoe there.

Interesting thing is that they would come out and the first half hour of the day, they weren't swinging those holes at all they were sharpening their tools and then when they break for lunch after lunch the first 20 minutes again they were sharpening their tools and they could get a whole lot more done that way.

All right this was a little tiny stick I don't even know the name of this tree, but it's some type of a fruit tree and it was a little stick like this when we put it in the ground.

A year and a half later, look at the tremendous growth there.

Alright, that 1 is a cashew tree there Again from a little tweak to a year and a half later tremendous growth.

This is all the Ellen white planting method Okay the oranges weren't that big they were about this tall and that wide and covered with little blossoms and tiny green oranges and big oranges that hadn't quite ripened yet on there.

Okay, there's the cashew tree again and in a year and a half the cashews were ripening already there and people from the tropics seem to love cashew.

See cashew has a fruit It has a fruit and a nut.

This is the nut and this is the fruit here.

So people in the tropics seem to love the fruit.

And so some of that fruit was ripe already.

And my buddy and I, we picked some of that, took it, and tried to eat it.

You put enough sugar with it, you can make anything taste good.

Guava trees, again, about this high and wide, and Covered with little green guavas big green guavas and ripe guavas all in the air and half these things were no bigger than pencil sticks when we put them in the ground.

Now they do have a 12 month growing season where here we might have 8 or 9 months so they have that advantage there.

Okay, so if we have healthy soil, we end up with healthy plants and healthy people.

If we have sick soil, we're going to end up with sick food and sick people.

It used to be, 100 years ago or so, that if we ate the Eden diet you'd have a very good food source.

But food is corrupted today and we need to change it.

Now we're gonna we're gonna look at some some other problems but we're gonna spend most of our time on the Solutions because there are some simple solutions we get into soil science.

It gets very complicated very quickly and Ellen White was given this dream in the night session the angel came to her and Explained the science of the soil and the different, what the different levels of the soil did.

And then Ellen White, that gets very complicated there, but then Ellen White put it down in a form that is so simple that a child could understand it there Okay now our stores are full of beautiful produce So how come we're sick and dying?

Everywhere even in the Adventist Church We have a lot of sick people and certainly out in the world.

We have a tremendous amount of disease there We're going to look at some of those ideas there If you go to to your handout go to the color section Okay, this is dr.

Mercola's chart and you can see this is a hundred years of agriculture in the United States the United States Department of Agriculture does a good job of Keeping track of the soils in Different states and in the counties and even portions of the county there So they've got all these records going back here to 1900 you can see that these nutrients in the soil were starting with phosphorus, selenium, copper, magnesium, cobalt, and so forth here.

We get over here to about right after the First World War, and mechanized farming came in.

And as mechanized farming came in, now a man could handle 100 acres instead of 10 acres.

And you see that the nutrient levels start to go down.

At the same time, the diseases start to rise here.

But let's go over here to after the Second World War.

We had all of these explosives and they found out that if we put the explosives onto the ground that things grew better.

The corn grew bigger, the wheat grew bigger and so forth.

And so we started to use chemicals there ammonia nitrate and And then let's get over here to pesticide herbicide fungicide and this is starting at about 1960 and on there and The more poisons the more chemicals we use the more the disease goes up but what I really want to take you to is to GMO that's Genetically modified that means the genetically modified foods genetically modified organisms there and then glyphosate which is roundup and its cousins roundup The Patent is expired.

And so there are a lot of copycats with the Roundup today.

And you see as we use these that the disease rate just skyrockets, just goes out of sight here.

Back in 1950, my grandfather could eat 1 apple, get 4.3 milligrams of iron.

48 years later, he would have to eat, we'd have to eat 26 apples to get the same 4.3 milligrams of iron.

There are a whole lot of other things in apples besides that are good.

It says, call to me and I will answer you and show you great unsearchable things.

Another translation says things that you could not possibly know And God has given us this promise there.

OK, so what kind of solutions do we have?

These are different gardening methods that we have.

Grow your own nutrition, we're gonna go through that.

And then a high bricks garden, garden in a box.

Jacob Mitleider has been gone for about 12 years or so I think.

This is his work, continued, years after he has, good, thank you, years after he's gone.

I had the privilege of taking the very last class that Dr.

It was at Weimar, and there was supposed to be a whole plane load of people coming from Korea to take that class.

I don't know what happened but the people from Korea never came.

And a buddy of mine had called me and said hey Dr.

It's only about an hour drive from my house and he's giving this series and so the 2 of us went over there and took that class.

It ended up there was only 2 of us in that class.

And it was supposed to be a 2 week class.

It was over when Weimar just dismissed for Christmas vacation.

Because there were just the 2 of us, we kept dr.

Mitleider there for another week so we had 3 weeks to him and it was wonderful because I had his full attention and could ask him lots of questions a great man with a lot of really good experience there We were walking across the farm together 1 morning and And I was quizzing dr.

Mitleider about this idea of chemical fertilizers as opposed to organic And he said Lynn he said if it were up to me today, I would be 100% organic today.

Now, you go back and read his early books, and he's advocating poisons that are so strong that they're illegal today.

So he totally changed his mind on this and he wanted to be 100 percent organic.

He said except for the nitrogens, he couldn't figure out how to get the nitrogens and then basically said keep going forward, See if you can't do this and make it organic there.

So now, between Darren Greenfield and myself, we actually put together what's called Garden in a Box.

Mitleider's work, organic, continuing years after he is deceased.

Okay, we're going to talk about ocean water minerals and the closeness to ocean water minerals to human blood.

You see if we analyze the ocean water, there are 92 different minerals in the ocean.

Everything gets washed into the ocean, right?

Those 92 minerals stay in a perfect balance, meaning that the percentage of 1 to the next to the next never varies.

Now the most abundant thing in there is just sodium chloride, just salt.

Home Gardening - Part 2

So how are we going to grow high bricks food?

The very first thing is to get a soil test.

We're told that we should farm scientifically Get a soil test I can't stress that too much otherwise we're dealing with unknowns, and you'll get some real problems because of what's been put on the soil before, or because of what God did at the flood.

And if we have that soil test, we could be a thousand miles apart, and you read yours, and I'll have a copy of yours there that I'll get off the internet, and I'll know exactly what to do with your soil there.

We're going to go around and get, use a clean bucket.

What I do is to take a 5 gallon bucket and put a brand new clean plastic bag in it.

Now you want to take soil samples from different parts of your garden.

And if you have beds, you want to take a little bit from each bed.

If you have soil that is quite different, you might need 2 soil tests.

If you have soil that has been treated differently, you might need more than 1 soil test.

But if that soil has all been treated pretty much the same, they just take a little bit from each bit.

I end up with about a gallon of material.

Mix it all together so you have a good average.

And from that, you want to take about 1 quart of that material, put it in a 1 quart ziplock bag.

If you fill it totally full, it won't fit in that small flat rate box there.

Okay, unless you are a big farm, for the backyard garden get S1, which is soil analysis with recommendations.

Okay, That's the same price I pay for it.

That's going to add another $10, So this is going to be $60 that you owe to the lab.

Okay, that's a total of $60 there Tells you where to send it I need to know in order to help you I need to know how many square feet your garden is So just take a measurement and give me the square footage of that garden.

Okay, you send it down here to International Ag Labs.

This is the Ag Lab that was started by Dr.

Now, if you're a big farmer, I might have you do other things, but this is all we need at this point.

Go to the post office, get the smallest flat rake box they have.

That 1 quart Ziploc bag, not totally full, will just fit in there very nicely.

You can send these people a check or you can use a credit card.

And down at the bottom here, it says, would you like us to send a copy of your results to your dealer?

And when you get your copy, I want you to call me.

And then I'll be able to pull this up on the internet and you and I'll be looking at the same report I'll be looking at your soil and you'll be looking at it in years and we'll know exactly what to do what's it gonna look like okay let's just go to this We won't have to work off of this.

All right, this is what it's going to look like.

So this is a soil analysis report and it'll have your name up here.

This happens to be the Pine Hills Adventist Academy in Auburn, California.

You'll have a lab number here and a date.

I'm going to need your name and this number right here, lab result, in order to pull that up.

And unless it's a very new report, I'll need the date.

If you have 1 that's a year or so old, I'll need the date on it too.

That just means organic material when it has totally been degraded and is back to a form that your plants can take those nutrients up again.

And in this case, we need a level of 30 to 40.

And ammonia, ammonias are also nitrogens.

They do a different thing in the soil and so we need to bring that up.

We want a level of 174 and we have 1, 410.

Now, how on earth did this get so far out of balance?

It was because the teachers there, and the people who ran this garden in the past, they'd go to the garden store and they would say, well, what's a good product for me to put in here?

And so somebody would say in the store, they'd say, well, this is a good product, or this helps, or somebody else says, I use such and such, and so they get it.

Compost can make that go way up, out of balance.

Now the phosphors, the phosphate in the soil, stays where we put it.

Anytime we have too much of 1 thing, it's going to make an imbalance someplace else.

And now, things will grow in that garden, but you will not get good food, and you're not going to get food that tastes the way we want it to and that gives you the nutrients and the healing power that we want to have.

So what do we do with a problem like this?

Let's say that I would bring in some new soil.

These are raised beds, and so the soil has a tendency to shrink down over the time.

So let's say I could add an equal amount, let's say we had this much soil in those beds and I could add that much more on top and I could get a soil that had 0 phosphate.

So if I had 0 phosphate, and I'm mixing it 50-50 with this, what have I done?

Now, some of you are familiar with double digging.

So if you dig deeply and you can mix that subsoil, it's not gonna have 0 phosphate, but it's gonna have less.

And so that's a way of doing it another thing that we do Is to crop it out now that takes a long time But how do we crop it out?

Grow things that are Heavy feeders that means corn that means tomatoes anything in the squash family, including cucumbers.

When that garden is through and the snow flies and you put that stuff in a compost pile, when that compost is ready you don't put it back into the garden.

Home Gardening - Part 3

Himalayan sea salt, the pink salt, you know.

When I was in Canada, I think about 3 years ago now in Ontario, we could not get sea salt.

You can't put ocean water salt on our land it's going to kill everything and so the authorities wouldn't let them do that well the c90 people went to them and talked to him explained it and so forth and now c90 is available in Canada so you can get it there and they they promote it it's a It's a great product there.

When I was in Canada, you could not get the C90, so I used the Himalayan salt.

It has, at that time they were saying it had 80, about 80 different minerals in it.

So we want everything in it, so get the ocean water if you can.

In Portugal and France and that part of the world, you can get some salt, which is dehydrated seawater with nothing added there.

And if you look at that, it is a gray, dirty color.

That's a dirty part of the ocean over there.

So if you can't get anything else, that would be good.

But if you can get this, it's usually far less expensive and by far better there.

Mittleider realized that there were a lot of people, and he went all over the world, and there were a lot of people that were not going for a backyard garden.

They were not going to spend the money for a soil test.

So he did what we call a 1 size fits all.

But you'd be far better off if you got the soil test.

Genesis flood causes an imbalance in nutrients in the soil.

Test the soil, and then add the minerals per recommendation.

And the ocean water minerals, the 92 different minerals in a perfect balance.

And the microbes, the bacteria, the fungi, then biochar when it is fully inoculated.

That's what your box will look like and there we are simply spreading the right minerals.

You spread that out and dig it in by hand or rototill it.

Now This was taken in my garden this season, this last season.

And you can see I've got a row that's probably about 3 feet wide, maybe a little less than that.

And then I'm planting things back and forth sideways there.

Ocean minerals, ocean minerals, phosphate, nitrogen, and iron if you need it.

Okay, Disease and insect resistant crops that does very well almost anywhere.

They were growing a crop of soybeans, 2 soybean fields side by side.

1 was the conventional way, all the right minerals and chemicals and so forth according to standard agriculture today.

The field right next to it was organic and was being used with these soil testing and the minerals that come out or the recommendations that come out of International Ag Lab.

As you walk across the field, the first field, Those plants were very stressed, being eaten up by grasshoppers and other insects.

Then you cross the line, and you go into the second field, and it's full of grasshoppers.

But now if you look carefully, they're just sitting there.

You see, the insects are God's creation to recycle sick and dying plants.

Otherwise, the whole world would be a garbage dump.

And the plant puts out a signal that says, I'm under stress.

Now, I still have some insect pressure in my garden, but I sure have far less Than I used to there so use the right things and you will get less insect pressure there In India about the time of the first world war Let's see this man's name was Sir Albert Howard.

And they had all of these Indian people there who were growing food to support the war effort there.

He did experiments there where he took 2 identical tomato plants.

There's a board in the ground and on 1 side he had poor soil on the other side he had rich organic soil there.

Same variety of tomato and he weaved them together up on a trellis like this.

What he found is that the plant growing in deficient soil was covered with worms and insects and being attacked And the 1 that was grown in good organic soil was healthy and just growing wonderfully well there.

Same variety, weaved together, and a huge difference there.

Okay, all right, so we need ocean minerals, phosphate, nitrogen, iron, and we're going to have good results.

Most soils in the west are depleted of phosphate.

As a matter of fact, most soils anywhere in the continent are depleted of phosphate.

So if you happen to be in a place where you can't get soft rock phosphate, you take bones and shells.

It could be egg shells, this kind of shells.

Don't get the bones from a slaughterhouse.

You put them in a big bonfire and you burn them, okay?

They'll powder easy and become available there.

We Don't use bone meal, don't use blood meal.

Those are recent trip to Vancouver, Washington.

A lady approached me and her sister had died of mad cow disease.

They don't want to scare or they don't want to panic there.

Now, the incidence of mad cow disease in organic farms where they're using blood meal and bone meal, particularly bone meal, the incidence of mad cow disease is way up compared to the rest of the country there.

See, you could heat that to 700 degrees and it won't affect that prey at all.
