The Gospel in Five Words

That was music that actually enhances the frontal lobe of the brain.

And not only the message behind it, but actually the music itself.

I like to come to Advent Hope whenever I'm in town, which isn't all that often, but certainly glad to be with you today.

And today I'm gonna be giving a message that's an old message, but actually it's a new message in the light that I'm going to be giving it to you today, and that is the message of the gospel.

Father in heaven, we know this message is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

And as we discuss your simple but yet profound gospel, we pray your blessing.

We pray that your spirit would incline each heart and each mind and that the words I speak will be from your throne in Jesus name, amen.

The first angels message, 1 of the 3 primary messages we, those of us who are Seventh-day Adventists, this is the message that we are to give to the world.

As mentioned in verse 6, I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven.

In the midst of heaven, giving an indication that it is visible, it's something that is known and is being looked at and analyzed.

Flying in the midst of heaven, having the what?

In fact, just a chapter before this in Revelation, we learn that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world.

The everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.

But it's also a gospel that needs to be understood.

And I submit to you this morning, the reason why it really hasn't reached the full potential of what is talked about here in Revelation 14, verse 6, is because we haven't truly understood it.

As simple as it is, yet it is highly misunderstood.

But yet, it's essential that we understand it in order for the rest of our denominated Name Adventist the second advent happened Christ told us very Clearly this gospel meaning the true gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in how much of the world?

So witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.

And we know that we, the world's population, is expanding far greater than what we're really spreading it at this point in time.

World's population is growing far greater than the growth of the true gospel.

But yet this is something that needs to take place.

Galatians tells us in chapter 1 that there is another gospel that interferes with the true gospel.

Galatians 1 says, I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto what?

In fact, the amplified version who gets, that tries to get to the root meaning of each of the Greek words calls it another opposition gospel.

It's a gospel that actually opposes the true gospel.

Which is not another, but there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

The other 1 isn't really the gospel, but yet it looks as though it is.

But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you, then that which we have preached unto you let him be accursed." Pretty strong words from the Apostle Paul who understood the true gospel.

He goes on to say, as we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you that ye have received, let him be accursed.

For if I yet please men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

In other words, the other opposition gospel will please who?

It will have some pleasing aspects to it.

And in this medical institution, many of you are here so that you can get certified someday.

But Paul is certifying you, too, certifying the brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

He didn't receive it from man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

He was taught it directly from Christ himself, this gospel.

So Let's get in to what the true gospel is.

Let's learn it from the 1 who got it directly from Christ.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand." Paul is stating clearly that he preached the true gospel, and they received the true gospel, and they're standing in the true gospel.

In other words, they're standing in salvation.

Verse 2, he says, by which also ye are what?

And notice the term there, you're saved, but there's a condition, if ye what?

So in other words, We might even have understood the true gospel at some point in time and received it into our heart.

So, and this also would help us to understand why 1 of the teachings, once saved, always saved, is not true.

Right here in the forerunner of the gospel, he says, if ye keep in memory what I have preached unto you, otherwise ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you, first of all, that which I also received.

So Paul was making it clear he received it from where?

And now he's taking that same gospel that he received from Christ and passing it along to them.

I deliver unto you first of all that which I also received, how that, and here is the five-word gospel.

I think everyone in this audience, I don't see anyone under the age of 2 here.

If you're 2, you can learn the five-word gospel.

You can actually even memorize it, and you can teach it.

And Paul doesn't just say, just trust me that I received it from Christ.

He says this is the true gospel because it's also what?
