You are about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2021 Michigan Conference Camp Meeting held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Our great God, our dear, loving Heavenly Father, thank you so much, Lord, for giving us a little glimpse of what you're about to do to us.

For the little glimpse of the outpouring of your Holy Spirit.

And Lord, thank you that you have given us a desire to run through the rain, to go through each and every difficulty to be in your presence.

Lord, thank you for that beautiful promise that we have seen outside, that beautiful rainbow.

Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us.

Dear Lord, I ask in a very special way that you please hide me once again behind your cross that I may not be seen or be heard but Jesus and Jesus alone be seen, be heard, be lifted up and exalted.

Dear Father, we pray, please prepare our hearts for what you're about to do to us today.

Anoint us all with the anointing of your Holy Spirit, for we ask this in the loving and precious name of your Son, Jesus, all your children say, Amen.

And friends, this morning I'll be sharing something that I think most of you knows about as knowledge.

And what I'll be sharing is not rocket science, is not a deep theology, something that's needed.

This is about things that God has not permitted us to do, but we are doing anyway.

And this has started in the years of the Israelites.

Was it God's plan for His people to have a king?

From book Patriarchs and Prophets 605 paragraph 3, it says, He permitted the people to follow their own choice because they refused to be guided by His counsel.

And such a verse here, Hosea 13 verse 11.

Hosea declares that God gave them a king in his anger.

God gave the Israelites king in his anger.

When men choose to have their own way without seeking counsel from God or in opposition to His revealed will, He often grants their desires in order that through the bitter experience that follows, they may be led to realize their folly and repent of their sin.

Human pride and wisdom will prove a dangerous guide that which the heart desires contrary to the will of God.

In the end, be found a curse rather than a blessing.

Friends, we have seen, you have read the Bible, you have seen the roller coaster ride of the Israelites.

Says here, Samuel instructed to grant the request of the people but to warn them of the Lord's disapproval.

Samuel made it clear what the Lord's disapproval and also made known what would be the result of their course.

So the Lord did not just leave them to their folly.

The Lord gave them this is the picture if you make this decision this would be the result and this is the answer of the people but the people returned the answer, nay but we will have a king over us.

Wow such a heartbreaking moment that was for Samuel that we this is the reason that they want to have king, that we also might be like all the nations and that our king may judge us.

Friends, is God not a fit judge for them?

That the King may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.

Has not the Lord proved to them that He has been fighting their battles.

Friends, this is such a sad, sad picture.

By choosing a king, my dear friends, they rejected God as their king.

And by choosing a king, they took for granted God's dealings for them.

It's such a huge slap on the Lord's face.

Friends, but unknowingly, we are still doing the same thing right now.

As a church, we have been, I think the culture of Israel has still been passed on to us.

We are so used to asking only for His protection and His provision but not his leading.

We only come to the Lord, Lord, please give me this.

But have we really come to the Lord and plead before him, Lord, we need your leading.

My dear friends, 2020 is a nudge to us that we need God's leading more than His protection, more than His provision.

Friends, it says here, for the sake of earthly distinction, they sacrifice the unspeakable honour to which God has called them, of showing forth the praises of Him who has called them out of darkness into His marvellous light.

It says here, just for the sake that they would be like the other nation.

And friends, come to think of it, when God was not king of Israel, they have not experienced so much miracles than God was their king.

Have you noticed Deliverance from Egypt, parting of the Red Sea, Jericho falling down, Jordan crossing.

Those magnificent things that happened in the days of Israelites at the time that God was their king.

Yes, it happened as well in kings like Hezekiah, in kings like Jehoshaphat, But these were the kings who gave God the throne.

When Jehoshaphat finally prostrated himself to the ground in front of the people, submitting himself to God, acknowledging that there is a higher power than him.

Just imagine a king bowing his face to the ground before the people could even bow down.

When you place God at the throne, He will act like the King.

And have you seen what the Lord has done through Jehoshaphat?

With Gideon, remember how the Lord reduced the 32, 000 to 300?

And the reason for that, Judges 7 verse 2, the reason that the Lord wanted Gideon to reduce the 32, 000 to 10, 000 and to 300 is this, the people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim the glory for itself against me, saying, mine own hands had saved me." Wow.

Because when the victory comes, the Lord wants to make it clear.

It's not because of your intelligence that have won the battle.

Friends, Signs of the Times, July 21, 1881, paragraph 10, it says, the most complete and perfect system which men have ever devised, apart from the power and wisdom of God, will prove a failure.

While the humble means which God sanctions must succeed.

God's ways are ridiculous in the eyes of men.

Seriously, friends, God's ways are foolishness in the eyes of men, but that is the only ways that would yield tremendous results.

But most of the time, we are afraid to take God's crazy ways because we would look foolish in the eyes of our colleagues.

Are you willing to be foolish in the eyes of men and follow his will?

Are you willing to risk your reputation for the result that God wants to give to His church.

Friends, it says here, their own strength, leaning or learning and wisdom.

And it is necessary for God to disappoint their hopes and frustrate their plans that they may learn to trust in Him alone." Wow!

It is necessary for God to disappoint their hopes and frustrate their plans that we may learn to trust in Him alone.

Praise God for the moments that our plans did not push through.

Praise God for the moments that all the things that we're planning to do, just like was smashed to the ground.

That we will learn to trust in God alone.

Friends, just imagine when God is king, there's protection.
