Was Blind But Now I See

It's a little bit intimidating of a room.

We would start by an invitation to a conference called GYC.

I wonder, has anyone ever heard of GYC before?

By show of hands, how many people have been to GYC?

Have you heard of our conference this year?

Does anyone know what verse of the Bible that comes from?

Anyone that puts his hand to the plow should, by no...

A few testimonies, you know who Sabbath Divine Hour is?

The seminar, some of the same culprits that we usually have and intermixed in some new ones, but I would encourage you to go to the website and check it out.

We truly live in unique, interesting, and exciting times.

Some people say, well, there's not really a need for me to go to GYC anymore because I've been there.

But let me tell you what else is happening.

Across the globe, I have an opportunity to travel and to intermix with other Adventists.

Each 1 of our precious fundamental truths are under attack.

From the first 1 to the 28th, everyone is under a track.

Never has there been a time so important for us as a church, us as a movement, us especially as young people, to unite together, be inspired, and study the Word of God together.

If for nothing else, come for the networking opportunity, the mentoring opportunity for the other young people to come.

We need movements like GYC, like Advent Hope, and like so many others across the globe that are hope that Jesus will come again soon.

Our church is truly at an exciting place.

For the last, I think it's been 4, maybe 5 years, I've been making routine trips to the General Conference.

I go there about a half a dozen times a year or so.

And most recently, I was asked to serve on a committee that the General Conference has set out.

So Elder Wilson got back from the GC and he said, you know, we need revival, we need reformation, and we need it on a global scale across the world.

So he set up this committee of people, and he put quite a few people on there, people that, in my mind, are administrators and giants in the church.

So you've got people like the head of the Review, the head of Adventist World Radio, the head of the Ellen White Estate, the head of communications for the GC, you've got general vice presidents, the head of Adventist youth.

You've just so many people, there's about 20 of them.

We had our first committee meeting, it was about 3 weeks ago, And we get in there and of course, extremely intimidating.

Sitting at a table with 25 or so of these giants in my mind, of course.

And so I'm getting in there and I'm thinking to myself, man, we're gonna get some things done today.

All these heads of these entities in our church that literally moved the globe, literally transformed the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we're going to get things done today.

Three-fourths of the day we spent just praying together, studying the Bible together.

We go back next Thursday to start planning.

There is a sense of excitement in that building that I've never sensed before.

Granted, a short time that I've been going there, but truly God is doing things through our church.

And it's things and ministries like Advent Hope, so keep it up here.

It is here to stay until Jesus comes again.

Let's pray before we jump into our Bible study this morning.

Precious Heavenly Father, Lord, we're here this Sabbath morning to learn about you.

We woke up this morning and had the luxury of a roof above our head, the luxury of a bed to sleep in.

Some in our world woke up on a street, under a tree, or under a bridge, and you've blessed us.

This morning, we walk in with full stomachs.

We've had a wonderful breakfast and look forward to a wonderful meal at lunch because you've blessed us, and yet most of the world is starving.

So We're here this morning, Lord, to worship you.

It's your Sabbath, the day you set apart for us to reflect on our relationship with you.

We ask that as we worship this morning that you would take the distractions from this room, That the Holy Spirit would descend upon this classroom.

That that we would get a message from the throne.

Lord I pray that you would speak through me.

Not so people can leave and say Justin preached a good sermon, but so people can say as they leave that they saw Jesus, that they learned more about him.

We open our hearts to the Spirit this morning.

We pray all these things in your precious name.

We'll jump right into the Bible this morning.

No fancy illustrations, no clever jokes, No stories, straight to the Word of God.
