You are about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2022 Michigan Conference Camp Meeting held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Father in heaven, we thank you for this preparation day, the Sabbath day that's coming.

We thank you for the opportunity we've had to think about stories and how we can be better teachers of our children, better disciples of these little ones who are so precious in your sight.

Help us, Father, to be a blessing to them, to your church, and just to develop better as Christians in Jesus' name.

All right, well, today's story comes from a long, long time ago.

And Jesus had just come back from the other side of the lake.

And wherever Jesus was, there was always a big crowd of people.

And He was down on the lake shore of Sea of Galilee near Capernaum, and a huge crowd was around him.

Well, while he was teaching, suddenly it seemed like the crowd was parting almost like the Red Sea because someone very special was coming to Jesus, and it was Jairus, the synagogue ruler.

Now, these people were not usually friends of Jesus, but this man looked very, very anxious, and he came up, and believe it or not, he got down on his knees, and he said, dude, oh, Jesus, please come to my house.

My little girl is about to die, but if you come and play your hand on her, she'll live.

Now, some people were watching and thinking, he won't go with him because he's a synagogue ruler and those people are enemies of Jesus.

But without a word, Jesus turned and started to follow Jairus.

Now, of course, everybody wanted to see, whoops, everybody wanted to come in to see the story.

They all wanted to come in to see the story.

Well, I can't unlock it, so I'll just leave it a little bit ajar so they can get in.

All right, so Jesus started to go with Jairus towards Jairus' house, but the crowd was so large and pushing and shoving that it was, I don't know if you've ever been in a crowd like this, it's still like being squeezed like a grape, and you're just trying to go forward like this, you know, And so they weren't making very much progress towards Jairus's house.

And Jairus was wringing his hands because he knew his little girl was very close to death.

Well, it so happened that in that crowd, there was a very, very sick woman.

And she had been having trouble, a bleeding problem, for 12 long years.

And when she started the bleeding problem, she just got weaker and she went to see the doctor and the doctor gave her the medicine to take.

The medicine always tasted terrible, but it didn't make her better.

And she went to another doctor and he said, well, this is the medicine you should take.

It also tasted terrible, but it also didn't make her get better.

And she just kept going to doctors and spending all of her money, and it's like her family left her, and she was just like all alone and weaker and weaker.

Now, when you lose a lot of blood, what happens is your skin gets very pale, and your lips get kind of bluish colored, and you're very weak, and you can't hardly get up and go and do anything.

And she thought, if I can just get to Jesus, He'll be able to help me." But the crowd was pushing and shoving, and she was kind of shoved back here and pushed over there.

You know, she was trying to get up close to where Jesus was, but nobody would help her, And nobody seemed to notice her.

And she was sort of down and she reached out and she just barely touched the hem of his garment because she said in her heart, if I just touch his clothes, I'll be made well.

And when she touched it, it was like electricity went through her body, you know.

And she suddenly felt so strong and so healthy.

She looked at her hands and they were not all pale anymore.

They were full of life And she just felt it.

And the disciple said, oh, master, everybody's touching your clothes.

Somebody in the back of the crowd said, What's he saying?

He wants to know who touched his clothes.

And Jesus kept looking around and now the woman, now the woman was scared.

Oh no, maybe he's gonna take back the healing.

And she was really frightened, but he kept asking and looking and asking and looking.

She just realized that She couldn't be hidden.

And so she came up, she knelt down in front of Jesus, she told the whole story of 12 years of trouble, all the money she had spent, all the medicine she had taken, and how she had heard about Jesus, she came up and just barely touched his clothes and was made perfectly well.

He said, daughter, go in peace, Your faith has made you well.

But as he was saying those words, some men came up from Jairus' house.

They said, Jairus, your daughter has died.

And he took Jairus by the arm and they went quickly through the streets towards Jairus' house.

They really didn't need anybody to tell them where Jairus' house was.

Because you could hear from a distance, oh, our daughter has died, oh no.

You could hear the flute players playing and just the very common way that they dealt with when people died.

And they came up close to the house and Jesus pushed his way through the crowd and he went inside the house and everybody was crying and making a big commotion and he said, why are you making such a commotion?

The little girl is not dead, she's just asleep.

And he pushed them out the door and closed the door.

Jesus took Jairus, he took Jairus' wife, his 3 disciples, and he walked into the room where the little girl was on a mat.

She was dead, she wasn't breathing, she was cold.

And Jesus walked over to that little girl and he took her hand and he said, "'Talitha kum, ' which means little lamb, get up." And the little girl opened her eyes and she looked around and she saw her mommy and daddy crying.

She said, mommy and daddy, why are you crying?
