Self Forgetfulness

Father in heaven, Lord bless us tonight as we talk about what we're going to talk about here.

And help something to be helpful to us tonight.

They're having a wonderful week of prayer, what I'm hearing.

I thought you were doing the week of prayer.

I was like, wait a minute, he was raptured.

When I was a kid, and some people would suggest maybe I still am, but when I was a kid, I was in academy, which was more like a penitentiary, to be honest.

They just drop you off, you know, because they can't really handle you at home anymore.

They got to find some place, and they don't want to get in trouble.

So they don't drop you by the side of the road, but they pay thousands of dollars to take you to this place.

Now, this is nothing against our academy or schools.

Someone's going to say, oh man, listen to that.

So I was there, and I was in this time warp of the kids at that age.

At that age, you know, adolescence, it's a great time.

Your brain is as effective as it's ever going to be.

You got more gray matter than you know what to do with.

You know, and you think you know more than your dad and your mom.

It's bigger than theirs, but it's just not hooked up yet.

And you got all these people, and their brain's not quite working right because they don't really analyze facial expressions effectively.

If you wanna get with me afterwards, I'll give you the research.

They think that when someone is sad, they're mad.

And They misread many, many, many, many times facial expressions.

And they're very concerned about what other people think about them.

And so I had this, he wasn't really my roommate.

And I liked big guys because I was small.

I was like maybe 86 pounds and very short.

And I was 86 pounds and 80 of those pounds were my mouth.

6 percent was the, you know, 6 pounds was the rest of my body.

You know, just walking around with a big mouth.

He was kind of like a Goliath type, you know, not, he was more brawn than brain, they would say.

But I was in his room 1 night, and I don't know why, but I started to pick on my bodyguard.

And what I did was I stayed overnight in his room and in the morning, it was actually Sabbath morning, sadly.

And he had a great deal of concern about how he looked.

You think about the finest yard that was manicured.

Now his hair was, and he had this blow dryer.

And this thing, you know, it didn't have like a pull string on it, but it was big.

And you know, he would be, he just knew how to move that thing.

You know, I'm thinking about this guy, man, this is over the top.

So I kind of move myself over towards, in my blanket, I have my blanket over me, towards the outlet.

And he went, shake it, you know, and then I'd plug it back in.

And he was like, oh man, And he was nervous because he said I only have 15 minutes because in 15 minutes if he didn't do Maybe some of you know about this You have like a zone of time that if you don't get your hair done, it turns into a huge Blackberry patch How many of you know what I'm talking about?

And I was enjoying this so much, I mean it was almost sinful.

And then with the frontal lobe that did work in his brain, And it was enough to do me in, honestly.

He began to draw from cause to effect, or effect to cause, I guess that would be it.

And he said, what is causing this blowdry to go off?

He followed the cord to my blanket which was erupting with laughter And he followed the cord to the blanket and pulled the blanket off.

How many of you have ever laughed and it was not appreciated?

And this guy, he was a big guy, he picked me up by the garments I was wearing, which I won't go into that, but he picked me up and he dangled me out of his window.

And sadly, the garments I were wearing could not handle that and I fell down.

I'm telling you what, I've thought about this a lot.
