Heaven, then 1,000 Years, and Forever

I'm just blessed to be here and I want to thank you guys.

It's a wonderful Sabbath and last week I was preparing a sermon to preach to Brevard and it was Easter and I said maybe I should do an Easter resurrection sermon.

And I said what better way to celebrate the plan of salvation than talk about the Lord coming and our time in heaven.

So that's what we're going to do today is talk a little bit about heaven.

And it's almost a continuation of last week or last time I was here with you.

We're going to look at this gift in Jesus in dying for us.

Does everyone have a paper that wants 1 at least?

If you hold those hands high so people can see, they'll come and bring you 1.

Today, believe it or not, is study number 18 in our series on last day events, looking to Jesus.

And I just want to tell you how blessed I have been going through and studying this out And I appreciate you guys going on this journey with me.

I Like a lot of things from being a missionary to doing any mission work or anything you do it a lot of times blesses you more than it can be a blessing for others.

I'm not going to reread this first quote.

But if you remember, there was the small black cloud coming in heaven, right?

And God's people, these people in this room, I'm trusting each and every 1 of us, see this cloud and we know it is Jesus coming because we know the signs.

These are the signs that we talked through.

It is the climax of the great controversy.

And will be the most glorious thing you've ever seen.

And all of this will bring on a resurrection.

Then, we also discussed this fire coming down at His return.

And much like Daniel's friends Walking around in that fiery furnace, we will be so focused on the glory of God coming.

Then, we get to journey to Heaven for 7 days.

And if you remember, Christ with His own hand puts a crown upon your head.

He said with His rich musical voice, Your sorrows are ended.

There shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying.

I saw the redeemed host bow and cast their glittering crowns at the feet of Jesus.

We realize as we're sitting there that everything is due to Jesus.

We have no, we don't deserve to be there.

It is His life and His death and His love for you that you are there.

And looking at that, we realize we don't deserve this crown.

We ended last time asking, what happens to our physical bodies?

What happens to the children too young to decide for themselves?

And what are we going to do for the thousand years and forever after that?

And that is what we're going to look at today in this final of our series.

I think there's no better place to start than 1 Corinthians 2.9.

I hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." You see, God's plans, we can't even describe.

This sermon, These pictures, nothing does it justice.

He has something prepared for his people that can't even be described.

And I hope today's sermon ends up being uplifting.

Picking up where we kind of left off last time in early writings, 288.

Then I saw Jesus lead the redeemed company to the gate of the city.

He laid hold of the gate and swung it back on its glittering hinges and bade the nations that had kept the truth enter in." Jesus is opening the door for us.

"...Within the city, there was everything to feast the eye.

Rich glory they beheld everywhere." Here's what I was saying a minute ago, language is altogether too feeble to attempt a description of heaven.

As the scene rises before me, I am lost in amazement.

Carried away with the surpassing splendor and excellent glory, I lay down the pen and exclaim, O what love!

The most exalted language fails to describe the glory of heaven or the matchless depths of a Savior's love." Praise God!

She couldn't even find the words of through inspiration to write of the glory of heaven and of Jesus's matchless love for you.

So first of all what are we gonna look like?

1 Corinthians 15, 51-53, Behold, I show you a mystery.

We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump.

For the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality I can't wait for that the aches and pains even at my age right and all the problems we have changed in a moment are mortal, now immortal.

Philippians 3, 21, Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body.

Well, if I'm gonna be changed, will people recognize me?

Our personal identity is preserved in the resurrection.

Bearing the same individuality of features so that friend will recognize friend." Amen?

I have friends and family I'm going to be looking for.

"...all come forth from their graves the same in stature as when they entered the tomb.

Adam, who stands among the risen throng, is a lofty height and majestic form in stature but a little below the Son of God." The Spirit of Prophecy says Adam was over double current man's heights.

So if we think maybe 6 foot, he was at least 12 foot.

He could have been even taller than that.

Some theologians say maybe even as high as 20 feet.
