Real Life Exorcisms & Casting Out Demons

Happy Sabbath So the sermon title is real-life exorcisms and casting out demons And that's what we're going to talk about this morning But before we venture into this topic, I would like to have an additional word of prayer Could you please bow your heads with me as we say opening prayer.

Father in heaven, Lord I just really ask that you would, your spirit would be our teacher this morning.

Lord I pray that you would just attend this message with power.

Help us, Lord, to be discerning of the times that we live in.

And I pray that you would generate more faith than fear in this message, more light than darkness, and that we would have power and be equipped to help the many, many people out there who are gripped by Satan.

So we had an experience here at this church where we had a a visitor come through who caused quite a bit of turmoil, and I think most of you know who I may be referring to.

And this person had a mental health diagnosis of schizophrenia, but it is my firm conviction that this person was actually also possessed by demons.

And as I was reflecting on this experience that we had, I just started thinking about my past and I realized I have a lot of experience dealing with demon possession and these occult type things.

Why have I never preached a sermon on this?

To give you a little bit of background information on myself, I just ended up growing up around a lot of occult stuff.

Well, 1 member did a little bit for a period of time, but for the most part, not that my family was doing it, but my family helped a lot of people when I was a child come out of the occult.

There was 1 lady in particular, her name was Frances, and Frances was raised from birth in a hardcore satanic cult.

And my parents, she had horrible mental health issues, multiple personality disorder, all kinds of mental health disorders.

And as a young boy, 8, 9, 10 years old, I would overhear these counseling sessions, I would overhear their discussions, and she would share lots of stories about what life was like for her being raised in this satanic cult.

And I learned a lot from that experience.

My parents also were instrumental in helping this young man, His name was Jerry, who was the high priest of his own satanic coven in Sacramento, come out of the occult.

And he ended up becoming a close friend of our family, and he was a guitarist, and he actually would come over to our house just to spend time with us.

And when he learned that I took an interest in guitar, he actually started teaching me how to play guitar.

All the scales I know, this guy Jerry is the 1 who taught me how to all these lead guitar scales.

And when you're playing guitar, it's like a relaxing time.

And when people relax, they just start talking.

And he would come with this really satanic looking 80s electric guitar and he was teaching me these scales and he would just start talking about all of these experiences that he had being the high priest of his own satanic coven.

My sister's best friend had tons of satanic stuff in her background.

My parents would get lots of books and videos on the topic.

Us kids, we didn't go out because Halloween is a satanic holiday and I say that without any apologies whatsoever.

It is a satanic holiday and my parents would not let us participate in that.

What they would do instead, they would sit us down and we would watch videos on the occult and they would walk away and I don't think they knew some of the stuff.

Some of the stuff was very graphic in these videos but we would watch these videos on the occult.

So I just and that was just my childhood.

As a young adult my first girlfriend was picked up and tossed across a room that she was in all by herself.

By the way, this happened at 1 of our Adventist boarding academies, and she had serious issues.

Myself, when I was in college, I was, I'd come to the Lord, but I still had some pretty bad sin in my life.

It wasn't super severe, but it was definitely a spiritual attack.

And in addition to that, I ended up moving into an apartment complex that you could say was haunted.

The whole apartment complex had really bad problems with demons and I share I have a testimony that I share about how God changed my career from wanting to go work in the entertainment industry to working for the Lord through that whole process and I won't share that testimony now but I learned a lot through that time and at that time I started reading a lot about it and in ministry over the past 20 years many of my Bible students have either had lots of supernatural experiences going on in their lives, lived in haunted houses, or were outright possessed.

And as I thought about this, and I thought, what percentage of my Bible students were dealing with this stuff?

At almost half, about 40% of my Bible students over the last 20 years have had some serious spiritualistic stuff happening in their lives.

And so it's part of ministry, especially if you live in the state of California.

So also I've been involved in about 4 exorcisms, especially if you take into account the apartment complex, getting rid of the demons in that situation, which they did leave by the way, which was a wonderful deliverance.

I have had probably more experience than the average person, but I've been around it a lot, but I won't call myself a deliverance expert, but I will share what I know.

But why should we hear a sermon about this?

Why should we talk about this this morning?

I believe this is going to be part of the end time work.

And he gave his future apostles, us today, the authority to cast out demons.

And let me ask you, a cult activity, does anyone know, is it going up or down?

We went over that information in our sabbatical class.

The statistics are saying, you know what's 1 of the fastest growing religions?

It's Wicca, Wiccan, which is essentially witchcraft.

1 of the fastest growing religions amongst young women in the United States.

So it is something that we are going to have to confront.

And so it's, if you plan to do ministry, which I hope all of you plan to do.

It's something that we need to know about.

Now I wanna go over some housekeeping items before I get into the message proper.

Number 1, from here on out, I'm gonna call exorcism deliverance.

It's probably because of that movie, The Exorcist that came out in the 70s.

This will be the sanitized version of this talk.

There is a more explicit version that I won't be giving you here this morning because we're in a family setting.

So I'll be sharing more probably more explicit versions of some other venue I shall let you know about.

But this will be the sanitized version so you parents can rest at ease.

Also I want to talk about resources a little bit.

Some of the things that I'm going to refer to might sound kind of weird.

This is probably gonna be in multiple parts.

I'm not sure if I'll give part 2 here, but part 2 I'll be getting some more details.

Some of the things might sound kind of weird, but I just want to let you know I'm not talking off the top of my head.

There's a lot of resources that confirms a lot of things I'm about to share with you about this.

In preparation for this, I looked at every passage in the New Testament that talks about a demonic encounter.

I've read dozens of spirit of prophecy quotes about it in preparation for this.

So you're going to get a good feel about what the scriptures say about this.

And in addition to that, I've probably read about half a dozen books on the topic.

I'm not going to mention the names of all those books because For fear that some of you out of curiosity might go look up these books and read them and get traumatized.

Some of these books, the information in there is extremely graphic and it's just stuff that we don't really need to know about.

But if you or someone you know is dealing with, you know, hardcore cultism and you want some additional information, if you come to me personally, I will give you the names of those resources, but I won't be sharing them here.
