The Stress Relief Prayer

The topic of this is the stress relief prayer.

And I'm going to share with you a prayer that you find in Scripture, the principles you find in Scripture.

We're going to walk through a prayer, And if you walk through this prayer, this prayer has, listen, a 100% guarantee to relieve you of stress.

So I'm really excited about this, and I can tell you from personal experience, what I'm about to share with you works.

Well, I just want to start by giving a short testimony.

So you guys know the last grief recovery seminar that we had at the beginning of May.

You know, I spoke once out of, you know, 3 days.

The weeks leading up to that seminar, I was so nervous.

I was nervous and I just had all of the I was just feeling so edgy about the whole thing, and I just kept thinking to myself, Why am I so nervous about this?

I do these seminars and I do 25 presentations on Bible prophecy, and I'm only doing 1 talk, and it's a talk I've given before, and it's not a—why am I so nervous?

It didn't make any logical sense why I was so nervous about this talk.

And then the fact that it didn't make any sense made me think, maybe the Lord is up to something here.

And so it was just a few days beforehand, I was praying, and the Lord led me through this material right here in my prayer.

The Bible study I'm about to give you, God gave it to me as I was praying.

And by the end of the prayer I had 0 nervousness about the seminar.

And later, I ended up sharing this information with someone else who was going through a really stressful time worrying about their children.

This individual has 2 kids and they worry about their 2 children chronically.

And this chronic worrying about their children makes it so they don't sleep at night.

And because of that, what's that going to do to your health?

They've actually, studies have found that they could take healthy women and they could induce fibromyalgia-like symptoms in them just by depriving them of sleep.

So fibromyalgia, it's a pain, it's where you feel constant pain in your body and it's an autoimmune situation.

But healthy women could get that if they just sleep deprive them.

So you become very sensitive to pain when you're not getting enough sleep.

I was like, oh, I have the perfect study for you because this individual says, I stay up at night.

As soon as my head hits a pillow and it's time to sleep, It just goes.

And I think about my kids, and I think about all the bad things that could happen, and you know, what if they're not saved, and all this stuff.

And I said, I just have this study for you.

And by the end of the study, I made an appeal for this individual to put this information into practice, and they said they would try.

And followed up a few weeks later, I said, how's your sleep?

And they said, I'm sleeping really good now.

And I'll tell you, that stuff, it means a lot to me.

You know, it's just, it's awesome to affect someone's life in such a positive way.

If you live in planet Earth, you have to deal with stress.

But before we talk about dealing with stress, what is stress?

Anxious, having anxiety, stress and anxiety kind of go hand in hand.

Feeling responsible for an outcome but having no control over the activity.

And sometimes we can't control ourselves.

So I'm gonna pass out the handout for tonight.

At the top, there is a kind of like your textbook definition of what stress is.

Would you read that description of stress that's up there at the top?

A state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.

Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand.

Okay, that's kind of like your textbook definition of what stress is.

So it's a mental state, it's a mental tension to a difficult situation, and it's a body reaction as well.

It's not just a mental, you have a physical reaction to it.

When we perceive that our demands are greater than our resources, that's when you have stress.

When you feel that your demands are greater than your resources.
