Misfits and Mismatches

Subject for tonight, misfits and mismatches.

Before I proceed any further, perhaps there's someone in this building who is not a Seventh-day Adventist.

If that's the case, I'd like to see your hand.

Is there anyone with us in this building tonight?

Well, thank you so much for accepting the invitation.

We are honored by your presence and John, may the lord bless you through this message and bless your life in everything you do and extend that blessing to your family let us say amen for John say it again 1 more time God is good and all the time our subject for tonight misfits and mismatches Before I go any further I'll ask you please if you do not need 1 of these things then turn them off and let's just use 1 of these because these things don't ring.

If this is all you have, just make sure it does not make a noise.

The second favor I ask is that you pray for me while I'm speaking.

All I want you to say is, Lord, put your words in that man's mouth.

And whatever I say to this audience in my presence, I am saying to God's people watching via Facebook and YouTube, say a prayer for me and just say to God, Lord, put your words in that man's mouth.

That request is based on Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 9, which says, Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth.

And the Lord said unto me, behold, I have put my words in thy mouth and I really with all my heart want God to put his words in my mind and in my mouth.

And the third favor I ask, it may sound strange but I'll ask it, think.

As you listen to the words, think Isaiah 01:18.

Let us do what reason together said the lord.

This tells us immediately that the god of Calvary, the God of creation, the God that you and I serve is a reasonable God and he invites us.

Come now, let us reason together and so engage your mind as you listen tonight.

God has given us minds, tremendous gifts to be used, of course, to understand his truth and to glorify him in that truth.

Father in heaven, Thank you for the gift of life.

Thank you, dear God, that in this country and many countries around the world, we still enjoy freedom of worship.

Thank you, dear God, for bringing your sons and your daughters safely to this place.

And those who may have gathered in different locations around the world to connect to this service father we thank you for their protection as I prepare to deliver this message day God I ask in the name of Jesus to cleanse me from sin forgive me thoroughly father That I may be an instrument in your hands that you may use effectively.

Let your spirit possess my faculties dear god.

Remember the promise you made to Moses in Exodus 4 verse 12, when you said to him, now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

In a very special way, God bless all our guests who are not Adventists, wherever they are.

Brother John who's present with us and so many listening via YouTube and Facebook.

Father, we commit this service to your glory.

May your name be praised by the proclamation of the truth.

Bless this host country of the United States.

Guide the thinking of the leaders, dear God, that the decisions and choices they make may be advantageous to the gospel.

Thank you for the honor of speaking for you.

Genesis 1 reading from verse 1 the Bible says, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

There are about 31, 102 verses in the Bible, and this is my favorite.

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.

Let's find out something about the heaven.

And affirmament, shrewd his hand they work.

There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.

The Bible tells us that the heavens and all that is in the heavens silently without the use of words proclaim the glory of God the majesty of God the architectural wizardry of God if I may use the word wizardry the desired the beauty of God as a designer, the heavens declare the glory of God.

Genesis 1.1 says, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth combined those 2 verses and we can conclude safely that when God made the heavens, he made it for his glory.

Isaiah 6, Reading from verse 1, our subject, misfits and mismatches.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

And 1 cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of his glory.

I repeat the last part of verse 3 of Isaiah 6, the whole earth is full of his glory.

We discovered in Psalm 19 verse 1, the heavens declare the glory of God.

And we learned earlier that in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.

What we may conclude correctly is that when God made heaven and earth, God made heaven and earth to glorify him.

When we read in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth, we know that part of creation on the earth was the creation of mankind.

Father, as I continue to speak for you today God, tighten your grip on my mind that truly, my words are your words.

Triple Trouble

As always, I ask you to do some favors for me.

Favor number 1, while I'm speaking, I want you to pray for me and say, Lord, put your words in that man's mouth.

That request is based on a bible verse, Jeremiah 1 verse 9, which says, Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth and the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth and heaven and earth are my witnesses this morning that with all my heart I want God to put his words in my mouth because my words cannot save you.

My opinions have no saving value whatsoever.

The words of God according to Jesus, they are spirit and they are life.

So ask God from time to time, put your words in that man's mouth.

1 wrong word can turn a person off in a service.

1 right word spoken in the wrong time can turn someone off.

Favour number 2, if you have 1 of these as a Bible, make sure it does not ring.

That's my only requirement because we must show God extreme reverence.

While I'm saying that, let me make sure that mine is dead.

Isaiah 118, come now let us reason together saith the Lord.

The Bible tells us in Jeremiah chapter 12 verse 5, if thou hast run with the footmen and they have wearied thee, how then canst thou contend with the horses?

Now this is God calling upon us to reason and God is saying if you cannot keep up with a man how do you plan to keep up with a horse we serve a God who reasons he is a reasonable God and so I ask you today in the name of this Jesus reason and think as you listen let's pray.

Father in heaven I am weak I am flesh I am dirt but upon me you have placed the burden of doing a spiritual work.

Remove the sin and grant to me the righteousness of your son.

Grant to me a double portion of your spirit, not for my sake dear father, but that the spirit may speak through me and that the words I utter may be your words.

Bless those who've come to listen to your words dear father.

Bless those listening via YouTube and Facebook and any other means of connection.

Let the truth triumph in their hearts today.

Send angels that excel in strength to protect us as we listen to the saving word.

Bless every country represented by those listening father but particularly bless the host country and this host church.

Let them make decisions that are not only right but righteous.

Father at the end of this message let your name be glorified father and your people blessed.

I pray from my heart in Jesus name let God's people say amen and amen.

Genesis 3 and we'll read from verse 1 and I read from the King Jim's version of the Bible.

The Bible says, Now the serpent was most subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.

And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, He shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God have said, he shall not eat of it, neither shall he touch it lest he die.

And the serpent said unto the woman, verse 4, he shall not surely die, for God doth know that in the day he eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make 1 wise.

She took of the fruit thereof and did eat and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat and the eyes of them both were opened and they knew that they were naked and They sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons Adam and Eve sinned To understand this more clearly let us go to chapter 2 and read verses 16 and 17.

The Bible says, And the Lord God commanded the man saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shall surely die That's what god said In chapter 3 verse 4 the devil speaking through the serpent said, ye shall not surely die.

And so we have God saying 1 thing, the devil saying something else.

And from then until now, we have the same dilemma.

Shall I listen to God or shall I listen to someone else?

And the choices are 2, the word of God or the word of the devil.

The word of God comes through instruments, the word of the devil comes through instruments, but there are only 2 voices, the voice of God, that's truth, The voice of the enemy, and that is error.

God said, if you eat of the tree of which I have forbidden you, you will die.

The devil said, if you eat, you will live.

God said, if you sin by disobeying you will die.

The devil said if you sin by by eating the tree or disobeying you will live.

Now that Adam and Eve have sinned, God comes down to talk to them.

Verse 9 of Genesis 3, and I'll pray again.

Father, I need help constantly, Give it to me now I pray.

And the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him, verse 9 of Genesis 3, Where art thou?

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself and he said, who told thee that thou was naked?

Has thou eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou should not eat?

And the man said, the woman whom thou gave us to be with me She gave me of the tree and I did eat And the lord god said unto the woman.

And the woman said the serpent beguiled me And I did eat now listen to what God says to the serpent.

The Lord God said unto the serpent because thou has done this thou art cursed above all cattle and of every beast of the field upon thy belly shalt thou go and thus shalt thou eat all the days of thy life and I will put enmity between thee and the woman between thy seed and her seed it shall bruise thy head and thou shall bruise his heel if you look at verse 14 God said because thou has done this thou art cursed above all cattle we are introduced to the concept of a curse.

It was never ever God's desire to ever utter a curse.

But because of sin, God uttered because of sin, God uttered curses.

And based on that lie, which is a foundation of deception, She did what God said not to do.

The Bible says thou shalt not bear false witness.

In other words, Satan sinned against God.

He sinned against the first woman ever created and God said because you have done this you are cursed.

First mention of the word curse, it was pronounced on the serpent which was an agent of the devil.

In verse 17 of Genesis 3 our subject triples trouble and unto Adam he said because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife and has eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee saying thou shalt not eat of it.

Now, we have the second instance of a curse pronounced on this earth.

The very first instance, it was pronounced on an agent of the devil.

By the way, as I say agent of the devil, let me speak to preachers who deliberately preach error.

You are walking on very dangerous ground.

The devil using an agent spoke error and the response from God was a curse.

Playing with Fire

And when he was set, his disciples came unto him.

And he opened his mouth and taught them saying, blessed are the poor in spirit.

Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God blessed are the peacemakers For they shall be called the children of god.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake.

Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and shall persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake.

Rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven for so persecuted there the prophets which were before you.

He had a salt of the earth but if the salt hath lost his savor wherewith shall it be salted?

It is then forth good for nothing but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Thank you very much for making time for God.

When God gave us life, he made time for us.

When God sent Christ, he made time for us.

And anytime you make time for God, God blesses you.

So thank you very much for finding yourself in the house of God, still on his holy day, because the sun has not yet set.

I believe it sets around 8.30, so we are literally living in holy time.

Okay, our subject for this evening, playing with fire.

As always, I ask you, if you don't need to use a phone please use a Bible but if you do need to use your phone which by the way is not a Bible but if you have to use it make sure it does not ring because we are in the presence of the God of heaven and earth.

Favor number 2, while I'm speaking, pray for me and say, Lord, put your words in that man's mouth.

And I make that request with concentrated seriousness.

Ask God, the Bible says, and this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us.

To ask God to put his words in a preacher's mouth is to pray according to God's will.

And the assurance is, the promise is, if we pray according to God's will, he will answer.

And so when you say, Father, put your words in that man's mouth, you may be assured that God will answer.

And you will be benefited because if I speak God's words, your mind will be blessed.

Isaiah 118, come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord.

And by the way, my request that you ask God to put his words in my mouth is based on Jeremiah 1 verse 9.

Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth and the Lord said unto me behold I have put my words in thy mouth and this is what I want.

Those of you before me and those on the internet, let us bow our heads now and pray.

Our father and our god, thank you for the gift of life.

Thank you father for the ability we have to listen to your word.

We thank you for the technology that allows this.

Before I go any further father, if I've offended you, forgive me.

Cleanse me dear God that I may be a fit vessel in your hands.

Put your words in my mind and in my mouth father and help me to listen attentively to the holy ghost as he speaks to me and give me the humility of heart to do what he says and say what he tells me to say.

Bless all those who are listening to your word.

A very special blessing on all those who are not Adventists.

Bless every country represented by this listening audience dear father wherever they may be on this earth.

Use me I pray I will not resist in Jesus name amen.

God's desire by the way is to dwell with us.

It is very interesting that God is more eager to associate with us than we are with him.

God has a greater desire to fellowship with us than we have to fellowship with him.

When Adam sinned, the Bible says, God came down to try to fix the problem.

God is more eager to fellowship with us to spend time with us than we are to spend time with him.

When he came down into the garden, Adam ran away and Eve ran away.

That's the behavior of sin in the presence of God to run away.

Sin is what causes a barrier between us and God and God sent Christ to remove that barrier.

And so God told the Israelites, and let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.

The very first article of furniture that God instructed Moses to make was what we call the ark.

The Bible says, and they shall make an ark of shitting wood.

2 cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

It has length, it has width, it has height and it was rectangular because 2 cubits and a half the length, a cubit and a half the breadth, a cubit and a half the height.

We have this box now comes the covering for the box.

Verse 17, and they shall and thou shall make a mercy seat of pure gold.

The mercy seat of course was the seat and here are the dimensions.

2 cubits and a half shall be the length thereof and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof and so it fit perfectly the box.

So we have this box covered and the cover is called a mercy seat.

Verse 18 and Thou shall make 2 cherubims of gold of beaten work shall thou make them in the 2 ends of the mercy seat in other words on The cover of this box and follow me closely There were 2 angels 1 on either end So we have the box we have the cover called the mercy seat, we have an angel at either end.

And the cherubim, verse 20, shall stretch forth the wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings.

So the cherubim, 1 cherubim on the right, 1 on the left the wings over spread to cover the mercy seat They're facing each other but looking down verse 21 and thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark and In the art thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

I hope you're following all these details.

Here's a box called the ark, the lid is called the mercy seat, the box is made of pure gold according to verse 11 and thou shall overlay it with pure gold within and without shalt thou overlay and I shall put upon it a crown of gold roundabout verse 11 of Exodus 25 so it's a box made of gold and wood The wooden part is on the inside, it is overlaid inside and outside in gold.

So you cannot see the wood, you just see the gold.

Eavesdropping on Enoch

Many are inquiring, how am I to make the surrender of myself to God?

You desire to give yourself to him but you are weak in moral power, in slavery to doubt and controlled by the habits of your life of sin.

Your promises and resolutions are like ropes of sand.

You cannot control your thoughts, your impulses, your affections.

The knowledge of your broken promises and forfeited pledges weakens your confidence in your own sincerity and causes you to feel that God cannot accept you.

What you need to understand is the true force of the will.

This is the governing power in the nature of man.

Everything depends on the right action of the will.

The power of choice God has given to men.
