Sanctification

You know, I've spoken on sanctification here before, and we'll actually even look at a couple of the same quotes.

I would like to think you all know exactly what I said last time, but I'm guessing we'll re-review is not a bad thing.

I'd also say that sanctification for us as church members is the process we are in now.

And so it's 1 of the best things to review and look at the process of sanctification.

And I'd also say, I'm saying also too much, but I would also add, that almost every appeal I make is on the process of sanctification for us.

I think it's a very important topic that we're going to review today.

Before we dive in, though, I want to review our last few studies.

We've looked at the oil of grace and the battle of sin.

When we looked at the battle of sin last time on this message, if you Remember, we talked about what is sin.

We discussed that Satan has, since that first whisper in heaven, he has desired a self first, while putting doubt in God and His Word.

Satan, in the temptation of Eve, even falsely offered power like a god to Eve.

And then he put doubt that God's Word is true.

Sin is, at many times, about this self-first desire and doubting God's Word.

That His Word is Truth, and that God first, others second, and self goes last.

It is the Holy Spirit that convicts of sin.

If the sinner responds to the quickening influence of the Spirit, he will be brought to repentance and aroused to the importance of obeying the divine requirements.

While we would begin to see this call to the obedience to the divine requirements.

And that was the first message was the oil of grace.

It is this beautiful grace that seems to be poured out to us on the plan of salvation at the fall of man, at the cross.

At intercession for You, grace was applied.

The process, what we're talking about today, the process of sanctification.

There's a couple beautiful quotes I really love, and this is 1 of them.

Christ in His efforts to deceive and tempt our race had thought to frustrate the divine plan in man's creation.

But Christ now asks that this plan be carried into effect as if man had never fallen.

He asked for his people not only pardon and justification full and complete But, and this is so amazing, but a share in His glory and a seat upon His throne.

We all have the cancer of sin that we need to have removed.

I want a full and complete cure, do you not?

For this is the will of God, your sanctification.

It must be pretty important if it's God's will, right?

Verse 7, For God did not call us to uncleanliness, but in holiness.

Your sanctification is the process of making you holy.

Therefore, verse 8, therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

This is why rejecting the Holy Spirit in our lives is the unpardonable sin.

God's ideal for His children is higher than the highest human thought can reach.

I want you to reflect on that just for a second.

By ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The plan of redemption contemplates our complete recovery from the power of Satan.

Christ always separates the contrite soul from sin.

He came to destroy the works of the devil and He has made provision that the Holy Spirit shall be imparted to every repentant soul to keep him from sinning." Amen, right?

This is the plan we are discussing today.

From wicked children to children of the King.

And I am so happy that Christ decides to separate me from the sin.

And once again, this isn't a command, it's a promise.

So many people get caught up on this and say, well, no, it's a promise, friends.

I'm fine with arguing about when this happens.

So in 1908, the average income, any guesses here?

It was somewhere between 206 hundred dollars.

I wish we could go back to those days sometimes, though.

The problem was that the Model T car sold, any guesses on how much the Model T car originally sold for?

So rewind, I mean the lower end of the average income was around $200, $825 for a Model T.
