We've got a problem and it's called sin and we have an answer called a Savior We've got a problem with this disease of sin and our natures and it is deadly And Jesus came to take that deadly disease, to take the penalty for that, and to save us.

So I've kind of told you what the problem and the answer is right here at the beginning, but I always like to start with an amazing fact.

And So we're gonna go to the screen and see what we learn about this important subject along the way.

The largest meteorite that they've ever found on Earth is called the Hobah, Space Rock.

It was discovered in Namibia in 1920 when a farmer was doing, he was working with his plow, and he struck something and he thought, what is that?

And he dug around a little bit and it was a piece of iron.

But he kept digging and it kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger until pretty soon he realized he had found this massive rock they discovered after a while.

It was a meteorite over 9 feet long and maybe 9 feet wide and largest meteorite that they've ever found.

Several people have come and tried to chisel off pieces of it, but it is so hard, it breaks virtually every hacksaw blade and chisel that they take to it.

They've never moved it from the place where it struck the earth because it weighs about 66 tons.

And so it is a massive, a rock of ages, you might say, and thousands of tourists every year come to Look at the Hobah meteorite.

You know, the Bible tells us that God, when He gave us the most important words, the 10 Commandments, He wrote it with finger on stone representing its unchanging nature.

So we're gonna be talking tonight about this very important subject.

And, you know, before we go to our first question, sometimes we like to go out on the streets and see what we can learn about that.

And so if at this time, we're gonna go find out what do people think about the law?

And maybe something about the answer as well.

I think it's important that we have laws of society because it keeps things stable by creating a level of consistency and knowing that justice will be served to everyone, hopefully equally even though that doesn't always happen.

To keep people in line, to know that somebody's going to do something, you know?

You gotta keep things in order, honestly, really.

You run around lawless, it's gonna be chaos.

Just as a little child, they need rules to follow.

And if there are no rules, which are laws, there could be chaos.

Well, that's if you were into the Jewish religion.

If you were into the Jewish religion, the Old Testament's still sort of believed by Christians, but they don't believe, they obviously believe the Son of God came and gave them a new Bible, so yeah.

Once again, we find that people's ideas about how do you relate to the law of God are all across the map.

You know, what we've done before, it's really interesting, is you go out on the street and you say, have you heard of the 10 Commandments?

Do you know the average person on the street can only get about 4 out of 10 of the commandments.

When our country was founded, everybody knew it.

I remember, now I was raised pretty much an atheist, but I went to several public schools, and when I was a kid they had the 10 commandments on the wall in public school.

Any of the older saints want to daint themselves here?

You know, question number 1 we'll begin with, and we're going to talk about this, and we've got just a lot of very valuable information to share.

First question, who is symbolized by the Lamb in Revelation chapter 5, verse 6?

Now, if you got your Bibles, either on your phone or the paper version, you at home, you may turn to chapter 5.

And if you look in chapter 5, verse 6 of Revelation, this is a prophecy subject.

And I looked and behold in the midst of the throne and of the 4 living creatures and in the midst of the elders stood a lamb as though it had been slain, having 7 heads and 7 eyes, which are the 7 spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

Then he came and he took the scroll out of the right hand of him who sat upon the throne." Well, right away, I think that some of you realize, are you expecting to see a lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes?

And if you get to Revelation chapter 17, it talks about a woman sitting on a beast that's got 7 heads and 10 horns.

Some of you, you get out in the country, you'll see a sign that says deer crossing, got a little picture of a deer.

You're never gonna see beast crossing with 7 heads and 10 horns.

These things are Bible symbols, but they're not that hard to understand.

If you want to know who the Lamb is, you can read about this right there in the New Testament.

Now, What does it mean by the 7 eyes on the Lamb and the 7 horns?

7 eyes represent all knowing all the time.

The Bible says, the eyes of the Lord run to and fro through the whole earth, And that's in 2 Chronicles.

And you can read, what about the 7 spirits of God?

Isaiah 11, verse 2 talks about the Messiah would have the spirit of the Lord will rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom, understanding, Spirit of counsel, might, spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

These are 7 facets or attributes of God's spirit.

It's just telling us that He sees everything and He knows everything.

And a horn in the Bible represented power.

Luke 168, blessed be the Lord God of Israel.

Talks about the horn of his power and of salvation.

And So these symbols that you find in Revelation are telling us different things about the characteristics of God.

When you think of the name of Jesus, we typically say it, it's connected with a Greek translation.

If you're Spanish, you say Jesus, Jesus, Hebrew would be Yahshua, and it means Saviour.

Jehovah is Saviour is what His name means.

Revelation, you know how many names the Lord has?

He is the Alpha, the Omega, He is the Door.

I mean, there are many names of Christ that tell us different attributes of His character because He's God.

He's got a lot of different characteristics.

So we see this picture there in Revelation 5 of a lamb that was slain.

It is the solution for the problem of a law that was broken.

The Law and the Lamb, Pt. 2

Hi friends, Welcome back to Prophecy Odyssey.

In our last episode, we learned that the 10 Commandments have an important role.

They reveal our sinfulness and our need of a Savior.

Today, we're going to continue our eye-opening study of God's law.

We're gonna look at an often misunderstood topic, the Old and the New Covenants, and we'll learn why God's law still matters today, even though we're saved by grace.

So if you look in the mirror and you see that there's something wrong, if you got dirt on your face, what do you do?

You put your face against the mirror and rub your face?

It's a washcloth, but it's a symbol of the blood of Christ.

So I look here and I see I have a problem, but this is not meant to help me with my problem.

And now, you know, now I look pretty good.

So, once this has happened, and I've gone through an embarrassing experience like this, every now and then I'm going to reference the mirror.

How many will admit they have looked in the mirror today?

Now, it's important to look in the mirror, But you don't want to look in the mirror too much?

How many of you know someone that looks in the mirror a little too much?

How many of you know people that look like they've never looked in the mirror?

We need the law to show us we need salvation.

The devil wants to get rid of this because if you don't have this, you don't need the blood of Christ.

And so even in some churches, they are preaching doctrines of devils that we don't need Jesus and the blood of Christ.

Well, we got to hasten along, but I think that's a very important point for us to remember, amen?

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he's like a man observing his natural face in a mirror, for he observes himself and goes away and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, what does God call the 10 Commandments?

You know, it says in Psalm 119, verse 45, so I will keep your commandments forever and ever, and I will walk at liberty because I keep your precepts.

Most of you are not here tonight with ankle bracelets, I'm assuming, meaning from the government, because you keep the law.

That law that's supposed to put the criminals in jail.

You know, I witnessed a burglary today, not kidding.

I came home, I told Karen, I was standing in the store getting ready to check out with a salad I bought.

He went to grab the money, and the attendant tried to grab it back out of his hand, and he got out of the store with a dollar or 2, and they went out and chased him down and got their dollar back, praise the Lord.

Otherwise, you got chaos in your culture.

Blessed are those who keep the law, who are doers of the word.

Now, I want to illustrate, I'm going to put the 10 Commandments up here on the stage here for a minute because I want to illustrate why this is so important and how it fits in with the theme of Bible prophecy.

So, here you got the 10 Commandments, and the 10 commandments are on how many tables of stone?

2, the Word of God is dual in its nature.

The Bible tells us it's the law and the prophets.

In Revelation, you've got 2 witnesses, and it's like Moses and Elijah.

Moses is the great lawgiver, Elijah the great prophet.

2 scriptures at the end of the Old Testament, remember the law of Moses, my servant.

Remember, I send you Elijah the prophet before the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

The first table of commandments deals with our responsibility to God.

And for those out there that might question, this is a summary.

It's not that, you know, we couldn't fit every word on there just to give you an idea.

First 4 commandments deal with worshiping only God, not worshiping idols, do not take His name in vain, remember our time for God.

So the first 4 deal with this vertical relationship.

Then you get over here and you come to the last 6 of the commandments and it deals with our relationship with our fellow man, beginning with honor your father and mother, going down to you shall not covet your neighbor and his goods.

If you could define God in 1 word, what is that 1 word?

The 10 Commandments are love for God and love for your fellow man.

Paul said all of the commandments are summarized in this, love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

And if you are loving the Lord with all your heart, you'll be keeping the first 4 commandments, right?

If you love God, are you gonna worship other gods?
