Tofu, Vege-links, and Beans: What’s on Your Menu?

We're happy to be here and so this first session we're going to be talking about as was described in a seminar outline and description it's tofu, veggie links and beans but what's on your menu and so we're going to be talking about the fundamentals of health 101.

What does it have to do with Christian living?

Are there principles of health that relates to godly living?

If you want to know more about diet, health and gospel connection, This is what we're going to explore today.

So before we begin, let's have a word of prayer and we'll launch right into our presentation.

Dear Jesus, we pause for prayer to say thank you for waking us up this morning, for breathing into our bodies the breath of life.

May we appreciate, value and cherish this God-given gift as we now come to study together and go through this presentation.

Be in our midst, inspire us to live for you and to share this life that you have given us, abundant life with others is our prayer, in Jesus name, amen.

And so we welcome you and this is what we're going to be talking about, I'm going to skip through this here.

But in this first session, we'll have an introduction for health, its care, its necessity, and its spiritual connection.

So we're going to do a few things in this session.

We're going to prove that the brain and its center are under attack, to be controlled, manipulated, degraded, and dysfunctionalized and destroyed by the enemy of souls, the devil.

To establish, secondly, the important role of the brain, the neural system, and the only sure way to restore and protect it.

And finally, thirdly, to understand that without optimal functioning, we cannot discern spiritual things of God.

So we're going to skip through this 1 here and go through here to our next slide.

So you've been to many fine diners in your lifetime.

Growing up you've traveled and you've been to some nice restaurants.

What are some of those restaurants you've been to that you really like?

Any 1 or 2 that really linger or register in your mind?

What restaurant have you been to that you could say, yeah, this is a really good restaurant?

And you would go back again, or you would recommend it to someone else, to your friends, to your family.

AUDIENCE MEMBER 1 There's 1 in Manchila that calls Oviv.

AUDIENCE MEMBER 1 It's a vegan restaurant.

AUDIENCE MEMBER 1 It's a vegan restaurant, Oviv.

I think I may have to come and check it out myself.

That's really good because when my brother brought his wife there, The wife is not vegan or vegetarian or anything, but she really liked it.

There's a lot of our church members are running.

I'm going to include that on my to-do list.

Okay I'll get the information from you later on.

I'll be there to get a first time sample.

So we've been to these diners, these nice restaurants, and we go there because we enjoy the menu we know it's healthy it's tasty it's delicious and it's attractive but today the world serves up a menu Because when you go to a restaurant, the first thing they give you, of course, after seating you is a menu.

And of course, that's what's on your mind, right?

You're looking, the first thing you do is you're looking at the menu to see what do they have to offer.

And when you look at it, I mean, I'm sure that you've been to some restaurants when you look at the menu as soon as you see that you want to get up and walk out because it just doesn't have what you have or what you like and so of course the menu is very important so that's why today we're talking about what's on your menu.

So the world serves up its own menu, a menu that is not healthy, a menu that may be attractive or appealing but it's not really good for us.

There's been such a proliferation of food eateries, restaurants at every corner, you name it, they've got it, drive-thru, fast food, this is the day and age for that right like these are just some examples you know you've heard Panera Bread and P.F.

Chang's and KFC and McDonald's and Wendy's and Tim Horton's and Old Town Buffet and these are just KC's and Moxie's and Kelsey's and Milestones I mean they're all over the place and these places are filled.

People are attending, people are going there because you know they have a menu that they like and some of the foods that they offer that appeals to their taste buds.

So I know that you've been to many places and you've probably visited some of these places but are they really healthy for us?

Is it to make us healthy or just to fill us, to feed us, and whatever happens, happens afterwards.

These are not the golden arches, though, that we want to get through.

The real Golden Arches is the pearly gates.

If you look at McDonald's logo and its symbol, look at that.

Dear Jesus, we pause to say thank you for waking us up this morning, for breathing into our bodies the breath of life.

We are grateful for the gift of health, Lord.

Now as we commence this presentation, be in our midst, open our minds, give us understanding, And may we receive not just information, but also inspiration that will lead to transformation in our lives is our prayer in Jesus' name.

How many of you are passionate about health or being healthy?

And how many of you are selective with the foods that you eat?

Now, of course, foods can be very deceiving, right?

They're foods that are very, they smell really good, they look really good, it's very tasty, but not everything you see is good for you, and not everything you eat is good for you, so you've got to be careful.

So in our first session, we kind of talked about diet and destiny.

We kind of talked about how the devil came in and he tempted Adam and Eve, and of course Eve first, when she wandered away and she went to the tree, the knowledge of good and evil, and so sin entered into this world on the point of what?

Sin entered into this world on the point of what?

Sin entered into this world on the point of appetite.

The health and gospel connection was when Jesus came, he picked up where Adam and Eve, our first parents fell, and that was on the point of what?

Do you remember his first temptation was what?

If you be the son of God, turn, command these what?

So that's why appetite is very important for us and we need to protect and guard our appetites and Be informed because the devil has infiltrated as I said the food industry.

That's what we covered in the first Session he has infiltrated the food industry It's laced with chemicals additives preservatives that actually break down the food, decompose the food, which actually contributes to adverse neurological effects.

The whole thing about our presentation is God restoring his image and likeness in us, in our mind and so if it have, if it's having neurological effects then we're not able to fully form the image of God in our minds, in our character.

And then of course, secondly, he's infiltrated the pharmaceutical industries, and in fact most industries, agricultural industries, media industries, entertainment industries, so it's all an attack and assault on the mind.

And that's the reason why we've got to guard it.

What we eat is important because it helps to nourish our mind and keep it in an optimal state of functionality.

This is a little bit deeper, this second presentation, so you may take notes and of course it's a little bit more intense.

So this is the advanced course, you know the first 1 was basic, This is advanced.

So let's go as we journey together, as we build our case.

There's the outward nature, which is the body or the flesh, and the inward nature, which is your mind.

There are 4 parts or sections of the brain.

There it is the seat of conscience, personality, spirituality, reason, okay?

All there right here in the frontal lobe part of the mind, okay, this is where God speaks to us, will, comprehension, right here in the mind, the frontal lobe, we're exposed to frontal attack and assault, that's what we have to defend it and protect it.

So what we put into our bodies, that begins to interfere or can infiltrate our mind.

And that's the reason why we need to understand this.

Now, when God created us, we had a perfect mind.

The higher powers, before Adam sinned, his higher power controlled his lower power.

There's a part in the brain, well all parts of the brain are connected, but there's a special relationship, an inextricable link between the frontal lobe and the deep central part of our brain connect to our brainstem.

In the limbic system, it's also a layman's term.

The lower nature is housed passion, appetite, and desire.

It's connected to the higher power, which is our frontal lobe that governs our intellect, our reason, and our conscience.

So the governing power, the will, of course, and that's where the seat of spirituality or the faculty of faith resides.

I hope it's not too, I want to just give you information that's not too much, no TMI, but just enough so that you can understand where we're going.

So this is a picture, a diagrammatic scheme for you to understand a little bit better, to illustrate my point.

And there is the higher power and there's the what?

And before sin entered, the higher power controlled what?

So that's what we want to establish based on this diagram, this illustration.

After Adam sinned, the opposite happened.
