Quantum Mechanics and Righteousness by Faith

I have a message that I've never given before.

I've been praying about this message for some time, double-checking.

And today, of all days, when I come to Advent Hope to give this message, I notice, since we're talking about quantum mechanics, as you may have noticed from the sermon title, that my good friend Mr.

McCauley is in the back and he was actually my physics TA in college.

So he's gonna be fact-checking this, Maybe, we'll see.

But before we begin, in earnest, in talking about what we're going to talk about today, and I do believe that the topic that we're talking about today is 1 of the most important topics that we could talk about.

Because we're not just talking about physics, quantum mechanics, we're talking about righteousness by faith.

And I believe there is no other topic more important than the topic of righteousness by faith.

It is the reason why we are still here, Wandering around in the wilderness, awaiting to go into the promised land.

And so if we really truly understood our condition as a church, we would go back and figure out where things fell off the tracks.

And where things fell off the tracks was over the question of righteousness by faith.

So it seems important that we should put all of our energy into answering that question.

But first, there is perhaps some prejudices that need to be ameliorated.

Can science tell us anything that we need to know that we don't already know?

As we as a church, do we have all of the knowledge that we are supposed to have?

Why are we looking for new knowledge when we haven't really made use of the old knowledge that we already have.

These are all questions that are valid questions.

And I think a little bit of a remembrance of what the spirit of prophecy says on these issues would be actually very helpful.

We are told, she says, In Christ Our Righteousness, page 146, 1929 edition, we are told that a revival of true godliness among us is the greatest of all of our needs.

White, 1888 material, she says, if a message, if a message of revival and reformation should come to God's people today, would we recognize it?

Would it come through the expected channels?

Let's see what a more sure word of prophecy says.

I have been shown that Jesus will reveal to us precious old truths in a new light, if we are ready to receive them.

But they must be received in the very way in which God shall choose to send them.

With humble, softened hearts, with respect and love for 1 another, search your Bibles.

This light may not come in accordance with plans that men may devise." So is it going to come in the expected way?

By the way, 1 of the few, now 3, non-American presidents of the General Conference.

When a new view is presented, the question is often asked, who are its advocates?

What is the position or the influence of the 1 who would teach us, who have been students of the Bible for many, many years.

Is that the thing that we should be asking?

God will send his words of warning by whom he will send.

And the question to be settled is not what person is it who brings the message, but what?

This does not in any way affect the word spoken.

Our brethren should be willing to investigate in a candid way every point of controversy.

If a brother is teaching error, those who are in responsible positions ought to know it.

If he is teaching the truth, they ought to take their stand at his side.

We should all know what is being taught among us, for if it is truth, we need it.

We are all under obligation to God to know what he sends us.

He has given directions by which we may test every doctrine." So what is the test of every doctrine?

What is the final endpoint, the final test of whether or not something is light or not light.

To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

How many times today though do we discard information because of ideas that we have?

She says here, we are not to refuse to accept it because it does not agree with what?

By many, man's wisdom is thought to be higher than the wisdom of the divine teacher.

And God's lesson book is looked upon as old-fashioned, stale, and uninteresting.

But by those that have been vivified by the Holy Spirit, it is not so regarded.

They see the priceless treasure and would sell all to buy that field that contains it.

Instead of books containing the suppositions of reputedly great authors, they choose the word of him who is the greatest author and the greatest teacher the world has ever known, who gave his life for us, that through him we might have everlasting life.

And they have a deeper significance than appears on the surface.

That is a nightmare for exegetic hermeneutics.

It is looking at the words that are written in the time that they're written by the person that they're written and using that to come out with what the meaning of those words are.

That is necessary, but apparently not sufficient.

All the sayings of Christ have a value beyond their unpretending appearance.

Holy Spirit will discern the value of these sayings.

They will discern the precious gems of truth, though these may be what?

Seems as though maybe that with all of our tools, our literary tools, maybe there's more to be mined from the mine of gold.

Let all seek to comprehend to the full extent of their powers the meaning of the word of God.

A mere superficial reading of the inspired word will be of little advantage for every statement made of the sacred pages requires thoughtful contemplation.

It is true that some passages do not require as earnest concentration as do others, for their meaning is more evident.

But the student of the Word of God should seek to understand the bearing of 1 passage upon another until the train of truth is revealed to his vision as veins of precious ore that are hidden beneath the surface of the earth.

Concealed in the passage of Holy Writ and it requires mental effort and prayerful attention to discover the what?

Let every student who values the heavenly treasure put to the stretches mental and spiritual powers and sink the shaft Deep into the mind of truth that he may obtain the celestial golds that wisdom which will make him wise unto salvation.

I'm really making a point here, you probably have noticed.

As soon as the seeker for truth opens the Bible, this is CSW page 34, to read the utterances of God with reverence, possessing an earnest desire to know what saith the Lord.

Light and grace will be given him, and he will see wondrous things out of God's law.

He will not regard the law of Jehovah as a yoke of bondage, but as a gracious commands of 1 who is all wise and full of compassion, he will make haste to fulfill his requirements.

Great truths which have been neglected and unappreciated for ages will be revealed by what?
