Speaking their Language: Understanding Beliefs to Share the Truth

This is a class that we're going to look at different religious world views.

Father God, I just pray that we can learn something that will be edifying for our ministry.

To work for you, Lord, and to have divine appointments with different walks of people.

Help us, Lord, to know, to educate ourselves better on different belief systems so that we know how to find what we have in common.

We ask for the Holy Spirit to be with us, to speak to us in our minds, give us ideas and thoughts, and Lord we thank you for this Sabbath day, this day of rest, to come apart and to worship you.

And this morning, may all the glory go to you, we pray in Jesus' name, amen.

The goals of this seminar is to understand different worldviews, and also to understand different religious worldviews so we can be better at winning them for Christ.

In the Ministry of Healing on page 398, we're told the highest of all sciences, and notice this, the highest, is the science of soul saving.

Because I thought, that's higher than medical training?

That's higher than any other science there is, according to God, is the science of soul-saving.

This is the greatest work to which human beings can aspire, is the work of winning men from sin to holiness.

For the accomplishment of this work, a broad foundation must be laid and a comprehensive education is needed.

So this jumped out at me because I thought, you know, this is, learning how to save souls is an ongoing thing that we have to keep learning better how to do.

We can't just go to AFCO and we can't just go do 1 class and think we know everything.

And I hope that this class will help you see how important it is to keep educating yourself and how to be a better soul winner.

It's a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world.

Everyone comes from a different culture, a different stand, a different way of looking at life.

Well we know that the end of time that Babylon will be the main player at the end.

And what does Babylon want to do to the people and to all the nations?

Okay, yeah, make it all the same, exactly.

Well let's read Revelation 18, 1-4 together.

And it tells us here, I wanna point out a couple things out of these 4 verses.

After these things, I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, Babylon, the great is fallen, is fallen.

So either we're spirit filled or we're demon filled at the end.

A person for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird.

For all the nations, not just United States, it's all the nations have drunk of this wine of the wrath of her fornication.

And we know wine is false doctrine, false teaching, false understanding.

The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her." So it's political now.

And the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury, so it's economic.

And I heard another voice from heaven saying, come out of her my people, lest you share in her sins, unless you receive of her plagues." So what this is saying, you guys, is that there's people in every religion and walk of life, even atheism, that are his people.

And he's saying he's going to call them out.

So we got to be ready to be able to witness to every walk a person.

Have you gone to different cities and see all the nationalities?

We need to understand what they believe and where they come so we can witness to them more effectively.

So Babylon's desire though is to make everyone drunk.

What happens to the perception of truth when we're drinking wine?

You think you're happy, you're good, everything's great, right?

When someone's drunk and they're trying to get their keys from the person, Do they say, I can drive, I am fine?

No, no, no, no, don't take my keys, I'm fine.

So write down your questions so that we can get through this and then at the end we'll have time for questions.

Okay, so write them down so you don't forget.

So I heard another voice from heaven saying, come out of her.

So God is saying there's gonna be drunk people coming out of Babylon.

They're thinking clearly, but they're not.

What are we wanting to help them understand?

We all have had skewed views of God in our life as we've walked.

So he came up with a plan, God did, because he wanted the world, the whole world, to know who he is and his beauty and his goodness because Satan has lied about him and so he chose Abraham to begin a culture a nation that would reveal the truth about him.

All the people in that time were drinking the wine of Babylon too.

That's why God uses Babylon because this has been, Babylon's been around forever, hasn't it?

So spiritual Babylon, which is confusion, is what the whole world has been deluded by.

So Israel did not do a good job, a few generations they did, of revealing the true character of God, but what does it say in Deuteronomy 32, 8-9?

When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, when He separated the sons of Adam, the number of the children of Israel, for the number of the children for the Lord's portion is his people.

But they provoked him to jealousy with what?

They were supposed to reveal the true God.

To new gods, new arrivals that your fathers did not fear.

You are unmindful and have forgotten the God who fathered you Also in the Psalms David tells us they served their idols which became a snare to them They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons." Can you imagine getting that debased?

So, in order to understand the different world views, we're going to look at theism, pantheism, and atheism.
