The Danger of Good Things

Thank you, dear God, for freedom of worship in this country, which we still enjoy, but it will not last.

We thank you, dear God, for the safety you granted us as we journey to this place of worship We've come to listen to your word to fellowship 1 with the other We ask you father immediately If we've sinned against you forgive us dear God, that is why Jesus Christ died Wash us not only remove the offense, but grant us power to avoid it in the future.

Fill our hearts with love for righteousness.

God, I have a carnal nature which loves to elevate itself.

I ask you to god to wrap your arms or your fists around the neck of my carnal nature and choke it into submission So that you alone may be glorified as I deliver the words of life.

May he come back at some future time to worship with us.

That the most high ruleth in the kingdoms of men which means the butt stops on your desk.

Go with me to the book of James Chapter 2.

There is another brother of Christ who wrote a book of the Bible.

James chapter 2 we shall read from verse 8.

If the Holy Ghost pushes me beyond, don't blame me.

If you fulfill the royal law, according to the scripture, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well.

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in 1 point, He is guilty of all.

For he that said, do not commit adultery, said also, do not kill.

Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Now keep the theme of this church in mind.

What is the motto, the theme of this church?

As they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

These are the words of someone who grew up with Jesus in the same house, who house who understood him.

So live as if you understand that 1 day you must answer to God for the lives you have lived.

There are many people in the church and outside of the church that live their lives as if there is no day of reckoning.

You so speak and so do as those who have to deal with hurricanes.

When a hurricane is coming, it's somewhere in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, which some people try to call the Gulf of the United States, you buy sandbags, you board up your store windows, You buy all the water you can, the bathroom tissue.

You so do and so live as they don't expect a hurricane.

In my town we don't deal with hurricanes and over Michigan we deal with snowstorms, blizzards.

We have a warning system in the town I'm sure you have 1 in a pop car from time to time you're watching television listening to the news and there's an interruption is a loud unpleasant sound they're testing the warning system to let us know if a tornado is coming or whatever disaster is underway.

We believe in being warned right now in Texas certain officials are under fire because they did not provide what?

Sufficient warning The Bible tells us so live as if 1 day you will have to answer to god.

1 day you and I will have to answer to God.

And that day is coming more surely than tomorrow is Saturday.

Let's leave James 2 verse 12 which seems to have made you a little depressed.

Let's take a look at some good things and see how people lived within the context of the story that Jesus told.

Has anyone said yet Lord put your words in that man's mouth.

And when 1 of them that sat at meat heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of heaven.
