Conservative but not Converted

This morning, we have a very interesting message.

We will take a look at what the Bible says concerning the time in which you and I live in.

You see, what many of us do not realize is that there are many things taking place, many movements arising and taking shape that will play a significant role in the closing scenes of this Earth's history.

Today, By the grace of God, we will take a look at some of the philosophical movements that are beginning to take form right before our very eyes and how this plays in the fulfillment of Daniel the 11th chapter.

I ask that you please pray for 1 another and pray that God's message to his people in this place will be shared.

Gracious God of heaven, Father we are now resting upon the hours of your Sabbath.

Gather together as a community of believers, as sons and daughters of God.

And Father, we ask for a special blessing this morning.

Father, we ask as we begin to dive into the deeper things of your Word that you would give us wisdom and understanding from above.

And help me, your men, sir, not in any way, shape, or form interfere with your message to your people.

Please, Lord, we humbly beg for your spirit.

We humbly beg that all the earthly traffic that has filled our minds throughout the course of the week may be put away at this time.

I want to begin by reading a brief statement to you.

Found in Testimonies to the Church, Volume 9.

And if you haven't gone through this 1, I encourage you to please read it.

So the Lord writes, we are living in the time of the end.

The fast fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of Christ is near at hand.

The days in which we live are solemn and important.

The Spirit of God is gradually, but surely, being withdrawn from the earth.

Plagues and judgments are already filling upon the despisers of the grace of God.

The calamities by land in sea, the unsettled state of society, The alarms of war are precious.

They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude.

All these things are forecasting, She writes, approaching events of the greatest magnitude.

If we're talking about events that forecast of the greatest magnitude, you tell me is this important?

Should we by God's grace seek to understand the deeper things of God's Word?

So it goes on to write, the agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating.

Consolidating is an interesting word for college students.

They are strengthening for the last great crisis.

Great changes are soon to take place in our world.

And the final movements will be rapid ones.

The condition of things in the world shows that troubleous times are right upon us, and the daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future.

Testimonies to the Church, Volume 9, page 11.

Here the servant of the Lord tells us that the things that we are seeing, the calamities by land or by sea, The alarms of war, the unsettled status of society, all these things are forecasting, are pointing to something even greater than itself.

Not too long ago we had a great tsunami in Southeast Asia.

And even more recent, we had a little hurricane called Katrina, right?

And as bad and as serious as these things are, these are just little hints, little indications of something even more serious, of something even greater that is soon to come.

Let us turn our Bibles to the book of Daniel chapter 11.

We're going to focus on this verse today.

The Word of God says, and at the time of the end.

By the way, do you know when the time of the end prophetically began?

At the time of the end, the Bible says, shall the king of the south push at him and the king of the north shall come against like a whirlwind that's very interesting we're gonna study that with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships and he shall enter into the countries and shall overflow and pass over what a powerful verse beloved do you realize that this verse speaks of our present condition and of what has taken place beginning in 1798 all the way to our present time.

There is number 1, the king of the south, and secondly, there is the king of the north.

Ok real quickly let's identify these 2 powers.

Same chapter Daniel chapter 11 let's begin with verse 1 also I in the first year of Darius the mead even I stood to confirm and to strengthen him And now I will show thee the truth.

Behold, there shall stand up 3 kings in Persia, and the fourth shall be far richer than they all.

And by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

Okay, so here we find an account in the book of Daniel chapter 11 in which Daniel is living during what time period?

And we know as students of Bible prophecy that in Daniel chapter 2, remember that that image, that after the head of gold, which represented Babylon, followed what power?

And so the Bible talks about that during this time there will come up 3 kings in Persia and that there will be a fourth 1 that will be far richer than they but notice this end of the verse and by his strength through his riches he shall strip all against the realm of who?

Taking our minds back to Daniel chapter 2, after the head of gold represents Babylon.

Follow the arms and chest of silver, which represented the kingdom of the Medes and the Persian.

And so these kings, particularly this fourth 1, are fighting to hold back the forces of Greece.

And a mighty king, 1 from Greece, shall stand up that shall rule with great dominion and do according to his will.
