Tell God Your Secret

Last time I preached here was May, I think, 13th of last year.

I'm not excited just to be here at Advent Hope but I'm excited just to speak on God's behalf I never take that thing lightly I never is it so awesome that God can send an angel behind this pulpit to preach his word but he decides to use Alvin so it's amazing So I thank my father for giving me this opportunity.

And also, I really love what Jason had to say this morning about reverence in the sanctuary.

About how he said it close to the end, how sometimes we can be convicted of a message and then talk and the conviction just leaves.

Now today I'm very glad he brought that to you because today I am absolutely sure I am positive I'm not guessing that someone in this sanctuary even if it's 1 person here if it's just 1 person I am sure someone will be convicted of sin in their lives.

Because God convicted me to preach this message.

I wanted to preach on something totally different, But God said, no, preach it, preach it, preach it.

Someone will be convicted of sin this Sabbath, I guarantee it.

So some of you know I might say something that might sound a little hard or a little mean, but it's not to sound hard or mean.

Sometimes we have to hear truth in a hard way.

Now, I'm going to preach with the love of Jesus.

And all I want, I just want you to listen.

The message is so simple, but just please listen.

Now, I got a phone call from a friend of mine, good friend of mine, yesterday.

And she told me that 1 of her friends died the previous day, which was Thursday.

A young girl in her 30s who had a family, gone.

You know, I thought, man, that's just so sad, so young.

And you know, for all of us, we hear all the time, we don't know when we're gonna die, and that's true.

We don't have a clue when we're gonna die.

All of us, we know we're gonna die, 1 point in our life, we know we're gonna die.

But the real question is, in what resurrection will we be part of?

Will it be the first resurrection or the second?

You're gonna die if you don't live till Jesus comes.

Will Adam be part of the first or part of the second?

Let's pray in the name of Jesus as we look at this subject Tell God your secret I Only ask well, I already know the Holy Spirit's here.

I just ask that every heart is convicted as I was in writing this message.

Save us all in heaven when you come the second time.

First and foremost I want to get this in your brain cells.

Now some of you might have been thinking, well wait a minute Alvin, you're preaching heresy.

Now the spirit of prophecy talks about secret sin, so what you are saying is false.

Yes, the spirit of prophecy talks about secret sin So what you are saying is false?

Yes, the spirit of prophecy talks about secret sin But that secret sin is more or less on a human on a human level For example, let's say I'm done preaching this message today.

I go home, I get drunk by drinking whiskey.

Now that is a secret to each and every 1 of you.

So on a human level, my sin, that sin of getting drunk, that can be a secret to all of you.

But on a deeper spiritual level, when we look at the invisible world and not the visible the invisible world We can't see the angels.

We can't see God now question Does God know all?

He's omniscient does God see all he's omnipresent So with those 2 facts we have to conclude that in the eyes of God there is no such thing as secret sin.

I was reading the Bible Thursday and something interesting came to me and I love it.

The Bible begins with God creating a perfect world.

He creates a perfect world with 2 perfect people and he places them in a perfect home called Eden.

And if the Bible begins with perfection the Bible also ends in perfection.

The Bible ends in Revelation 21-22 with God creating a new heaven and a new earth, the new Jerusalem heaven and the new earth will receive after the millennium when this world is burned up they'll be purified and God will recreate it.

The other place God desperately wants each and every 1 of us here to gain and that is heaven.

Now in between these 2 perfect places of the Bible, in between Eden and in between heaven, the Bible is full.

It is full of stories that show to us the negative effects of sin in an imperfect world.

Now since we're talking about stories, today we will study a story of a man who will not make it to this place.

A man who will not make it to the New Jerusalem even though that is God's will that was God's will for his life he will not make it here why because he chose not to tell God his secrets this man chose to hold on to his sin and now he's gonna burn in hellfire who is this man that chose to hold on to his sin who is this turn to the book of Joshua Joshua chapter 7 tell God your secret.

Now let's get some context before we get into it and it'll take too long for me to read all the verses.

I still have some more page I'll wait I'm gonna take my time on this I'll just wait.
