Modern Medium- Part 1

Medium as the highest form of sorcery that is being practiced on our on our planet today and Lord may you just fortify our minds as we go through this presentation and we even look at these clips and just tiny little snippets From Hollywood Lord may it not entice anyone in this room to go and see these films but to see the truth behind them.

And so Lord, I just pray for your protection.

Send a legion of angels right now to camp around this company of your believers to ward off those spirits that are here that wish to deceive us and to keep us in the dark.

So Lord, I ask this in the powerful name of Jesus, we love you, thank you, Amen.

So this is the first part of a three-part series I'm titling Modern Medium.

And so we're going to look at the effects of Hollywood on the mind, and then we're going to go through and see how this business really is modern day sorcery and the more we've looked at it, you know, Yesterday we looked at how God is wanting to incorporate us into His family and to co-labor with us as farmers.

And we know that there's an enemy that is here that is also spreading His seeds and His thoughts.

But His, remember, are not like God's seeds, and He doesn't operate like God.

It's a genetically modified seed That Satan is planting.

It's been altered Right so that it can be planted in the mind and poison can be sprayed on it and it won't die so These things get in our minds and I believe seriously from my own personal experience My brother and I we were raised Adventist and it was while going to PUC that we went away from God.

Because we were, and I'm not saying that it was PUC, it was because we were focusing on the things of the world.

We were at the theater every week and we were watching every movie coming out.

My brother and I, we were addicted to movies.

And that had started at a very young age when my parents divorced.

We grew up in a divided home and my mom left the church and So we were able to watch whatever we wanted.

My dad tried to really protect us, but when we were with mom, we could see anything, watch anything.

And it got to the point where Scott and I were waiting until Friday, till the next movie came out, because we'd seen everything.

We'd go to the rental store, and we'd be like, man, there's nothing to rent.

We'd go buy 1 ticket and sneak into all the other movies and watch 5 of them.

And come out like zombies, just, oh God, what was that about?

So I truly believe that that's what led me away, because seeds were planted in my mind that choked out the truth.

But you know, I'm not here to say that the TV or the medium is evil in and of itself, it's how it's used.

And there are ways in which we're using it, right?

I mean it was a video that someone handed me that spoke to my heart.

So, But we need to just be very careful and very wary and guard well the avenues to the soul.

Because Christ, He warned His disciples that in the last days, He said, What shall be the sign of the end?

And He said, for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets to show great signs and wonders, insomuch that if they were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

So He basically warned us that deception would be the order of the day.

And that we need to be aware that there's going to be people who come up and say, Hey, there's Christ over here, Christ over here.

And that's what's happening today, really.

And in Revelation 18.23, talking about the fall of Babylon, It says, The merchants were the great men of the earth, for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

So this deception in these last days is going to come by way of sorcery.

And when you look up that word, sorcery, when we first saw this in Ivor's Escape from the Black Hole, this really got to us.

This was kind of 1 of the pivotal points that really helped Scotty and I decide to leave Hollywood and enter back into the work of sharing the Gospel.

Pharmakia is the original root word there for sorcery.

The use or administering of drugs, poisoning, sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it." So basically anything that medicates our minds so that we cannot follow the will of God could be considered sorcery.

So it goes beyond just the things that we think about when we think about sorcery, right?

Witches, wizards, witchcraft and the like, which the Bible says to clearly stay away from.

There's other things that can medicate our minds, right?

Alcohol first thing alcohol affects is your frontal lobe.

Yeah, it starts shutting down the frontal lobe.

That's why people do things they wouldn't normally do sober.

They wake up in the morning and go, what did I do?

The frontal lobe is that seat of judgment.

And The frontal lobe is the command center of our minds.

And there's a third of your brain that is frontal lobe tissue, right?

It's what separates us from the animal kingdom.

There are, like for instance, in a cat there's about 3 and a half percent of the tissue in the cat's brain that's frontal lobe, and in a dog it's about 7 percent.

So you can see the dog has a little bit more frontal lobe tissue there.

But really, this is what separates us from the animal kingdom.

God has put this a third of our brain dedicated to frontal lobe tissue, the seat of our spirituality, our morality, and our will.

This is where we make decisions for right and wrong.

So the question we want to answer is what's really taking place in the mind when we sit down and we zone out and we watch TV and we watch movies and this sort of thing.

And so in our research we came across this article.

It was an article entitled weapons of mass induction and it was based on an excerpt from a book by Dr.

Eric Sigmund called remotely controlled And he's talking about here how children are affected by television.

But this is happening to all of us, okay?

It says when children watch television, the frontal lobe is not doing anything.

With the result that over a period of time this part of the brain doesn't develop properly.

A study in the World Federation of Neurology outlined the concerns about the impact of visual electronic media, including television, on children because of stunted frontal lobe development, which also impacts on their ability to control antisocial behavior.

Playing and interacting with others is recommended to encourage the fibers of the frontal lobe to develop and thicken and to make stronger connections.

So, when we're talking about childhood development, this is where it gets really serious because basically when we're born, we're born with billions of brain cells and trillions of connections can be made.

So the pathways haven't been formed in the mind, right?

And that's what's taking place when a child is developing, those pathways are forming.

That's why they're taste testing everything, right?

And as they crawl around and they touch and it's tactile and they're looking in your face and this sort of thing, those pathways are forming.

When you plop a little child in front of the television, all the activity stops, they go into a sedentary type of catatonic state and the frontal lobe is not functioning.

Now what happens in the formation of pathways, to make pathways stronger, you need to keep firing down that pathway.

And each time a neuron fires, it lays down another layer of protein called myelin.

The myelinating of the axons in the mind.

And somewhere between ages 6, 7, 8, there's a pruning that takes place in the mind.

The brain releases an enzyme and it dissolves all poorly myelinated pathways.

And that's why a child can learn virtually every language you throw at them during the time of speech acquisition because they've got the neurocapacity to make all those pathways.

So you can learn a language later, but it takes a little time.

So we went and actually interviewed this doctor here, Dr.

The Dark Secrets of Feminism

My name is Laurel Domstik and I'll be sharing a little bit with you this morning on dark secrets of feminism and you will be very amazed.

Before we begin though, we do not want the powers of darkness attending this meeting.

We want holy angels attending everything we say.

And so sometimes when we're talking about such things, we want to make sure we have an extra contingency of angels.

I just was saying that maybe you want to, if you can see the screen that's fine, but I may be standing in the way for some of you.

So I just encourage everybody to move to this side so you have a better view.

And we are going to begin with prayer, please.

Dear Heavenly Father, right now we are asking you to be glorified in everything, not by might nor by power, but by your Spirit, you win everything in our lives.

Just now we asked for the Holy Spirit to attend our meeting.

And we ask for holy angels to block out the evil 1 as we discuss these matters.

And we ask that you will bring discernment and attentiveness and wakefulness to each 1 of us.

Just a little background on me, who am I?

My parents were missionaries in Thailand for 26 years.

I didn't live there for 26 years obviously but I would spent my whole childhood in Thailand.

So when I talk to people I always say I have a Thai heart.

I may look American but really it's a Thai heart inside.

So I have missionary blood running thick through my veins.

I loved missions and my husband and I spent years ourselves over there.

I also love God and love his word and love the Spirit of Prophecy.

Even as a child, my parents would say, well, what would you like for Christmas this year?

And I want, or I would tell them exactly what Spirit of Prophecy book that I wanted, because I just love studying the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy.

I went on to get my BA in theology at Atlantic Union College and my Master's of Divinity at Andrews and my Master's in Public Health at Loma Linda.

On this platform here, I'm in the middle, obviously.

My dad is on my left, and my grandfather, who was a Seventh-day Adventist minister, and a missionary in India for, I don't know, many, twenty-some years also.

And so, at my husband's ordination to gospel ministry, I resolved to be a teammate in ministry.

I never wanted any ordination, even though I went through and I'm as well trained as as most of the pastors.

We ministered together in Virginia, Thailand, Korea, and now Andrews University, where my husband teaches church history at the seminary.

While I was going to seminary, I had a quote that I looked at and bothered me.

And it's found in First Testimonies, page 421.

And I'm going to read a little bit from this page and explain why this troubled me.

Notice what it says, the spirit which attends the 1, and this is talking about spiritualism and women's rights, cannot be in harmony with the other.

The scriptures are plain upon the relationships and rights of men and women, okay?

Now, today there's a lot of talk, you know, and a lot of people say the scriptures aren't playing, but Ellen White says they are playing.

Those who feel called out to join the movement in favor of women's rights and the so-called dress reform movement might as well sever all connection with the third angel's message.

And when I found this when I was going to seminary, it puzzled me.

Why is this, why is, what was wrong with women's rights?

I mean I was a child of the, the liberation movement and, you know, what was wrong with that?

And I started studying and trying to discover why they should sever all connection with the third angel's message.

Still from First Testimonies 421, notice there was a problem with women's rights and the third angel's message being incompatible.

Spiritualists have to quite an extent adopted the singular mode of dress.

Seventh-day Adventists who believe in the restoration of the gifts are often branded as spiritualists.

Let them adopt this costume and their influence is dead." So all here we find out that Third Angel's message and women's rights are not compatible.

And that it has something to do with dress reform and spiritualism.

And That was just totally confusing to me.

How is women's rights, which was the forerunner of our feminism, related to spiritualism anyway?

So I wanted to take us back and discuss, really, what is spiritualism?

And I have divided this into type 1 spiritualism and type 2 spiritualism.

And I'm going to explain what I mean by that.

So in Genesis chapter 3, verse 4, Satan, his first lie to Eve was, ye shall not surely die.

And if the dead are not really dead, the devil can directly communicate through wrappings and through apparitions and through seances and all these things that we are very familiar with this kind of spiritualism.

And notice in Deuteronomy 18, 9 to 14, that God calls this an abomination.

All of those kinds of things, God calls an abomination.

There's no way we consider spiritualism to be something that is compatible with our third angel's message.

All right, so now there's another kind of spiritualism that Ellen White talks about, and that's what I want to discuss here.

In Genesis 3, 5, Satan's second lie was, ye shall be as gods.

Now, there's a very excellent chapter in Great Controversy, talking, saying, can our dead speak to us?

And in this, she takes first type 1 spiritualism and type 2 spiritualism.

Notice in the Garden of Eden, there were 2 trees, the tree of knowledge, of good and evil, which is forbidden wisdom, and the other tree of life, 2 trees.

Nobody forced Eve to go near the second tree.

In fact, angels warned her not to go near there.

And here we have when the serpent said to her, ye shall be as God, this was a challenge, a direct challenge against God himself.

Of course, it was encouragement from the devil, of course.

And Eve chooses to believe the serpent over God.

And that choice means that she becomes the norm.

She becomes the god because she is choosing over God.

I call this type 2 spiritualism, and we'll unpack this more.

So in Great Controversy 554, the chapter that I was talking about a few minutes ago, we find out that part of this philosophical spiritualism includes the idea that we are all gods.

Spiritualism teaches, Ellen White says in Great Controversy 554, that man is the creature of progression, that it is his destiny from his birth to progress even to eternity toward the Godhead.

My fellow men all were unfallen demigods and another declares any just and perfect being is Christ." All right, so you hear this a lot in New Age philosophy today.

The God that's within you, and listening to your inner self, all these kind of things.

These are shades of this type 2 spiritualism.

So, any just and perfect being is Christ.

That is a direct insult and blasphemous towards Jesus Christ.

Another aspect of the philosophical spiritualism that Ellen White talks about in Great Controversy 555 is that anything is okay.

He declares through the spirits that true knowledge places man above all law, that whatever is, is right, that God does not condemn and that all sins which are committed are innocent.

So whatever is, is right, and love makes immoral acts okay between consenting adults.

There was a book way back that says, I'm OK, you're OK.

This is the main tenant of existential philosophy, that what I believe is good for me, and what's good is OK for you.

And we'll all be friends because you believe what you believe.
