The Three Angels' Message for the Millennial Generation

1. Everlasting Gospel and the Three Angels Message

Today we are going to study about the first angel's message.

Where is the third, 3 angels message in the Bible?

Recently I had a privilege to read 1 of the books by Dr.

He used to be a professor at Andrews Seminary.

And he was also senior pastor at the Village Church.

Other than PMC, Pioneer Memorial Church on campus, Barron Springs has their own local church called Village Church.

He was a senior pastor there, but he wrote a book, love story about, from, love story from Revelation, Book of Revelation.

You know, when we think about Book of Revelation, it is a, it sounds like a mysterious book.

It talks about beasts, dragons, and vortexes, and run away from the persecution.

But when we look carefully, it is about Jesus' love letter.

Chapter 1 talks about, before we read Revelation chapter 14, why don't we start with chapter 1.

Reading from verse 1, the Bible says, The revelation of who?

So this book is not the revelation of the dragon, red dragon, or the beast, the first beast, earth beast, or the second beast, the sea beast, I'm sorry, all the way around, but it's not about those beasts, but it's about Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to who?

His servants things which must shortly come to pass, and he sent and signified by His angel unto his servant John, who bear record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

You have to find every chapter, every verse, relating to Jesus Christ.

And that revelation was given by God to him and he gave it to the angel, and the angel brought it to John, the revelator.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at end.

Of course reading the whole scripture is a blessing.

But this book has a special triple blessing.

So it's just right reading it, hearing it, and keeping the things that he mentioned here, because we don't have much time.

If we can just summarize the whole revelation, I would say the Lamb and His Bride.

The difference between the book of Revelation and Daniel, what is the difference?

Like Daniel, It's all about kingdom after kingdom and kingdom and kingdom.

King of the North, King of the South, King of the North, all the way until chapter 12.

So God is trying to reveal his prophecy to the kings and leaders to understand what's going to happen.

We're going to study about that next time period or third period.

Who's going to receive the final kingdom?

It's about a lady, a pure lady, going through a different time in the history.

Sometimes she's weak, sometimes she seems like she's gonna fall down and never get up, but God raised him up again and then she walked, she goes through persecution and triumph.

Even with her weaknesses and struggle within.

You know, like the, you know, in old days I used to watch movies, And I don't like movies that has sad endings.

I like the movies like, you know, what is it, Western, you know, these cowboy movies, you know.

They start and, you know, they struggle, they fight for the justice, they almost got killed, punched, or whatever.

I'm not saying that you go and watch the movies but the book of revelation the lamb and the bride what they go through together is just like that they go through persecution, the dragon tries to destroy them and then barely she made it and then the wings was given and there is a remnant.

And they will go through tribulations and trials and they will gain the victory.

It doesn't look like good news, but if you sit down and pray and search the words and study carefully, it is all about Jesus and how he is trying to redeem and help his beloved church to experience the victory.

Come with me to Revelation chapter 14 reading from verse 6.

Revelation chapter 14, verse 6, the Bible says, And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the what kind of gospel?

The everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.

Verse 7, saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him that made heaven, the earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

And the third angel followed him, them saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture in the cup of his indignation.

And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever, and they have no rest day and night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receive the mark of his name.

Here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Chapter 14, verse 6, it says, I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven.

I will talk about that either Sabbath morning or Sunday morning devotion.

I'm going to talk more about this issue, but it's talking about the last day church who will do this work.

Why is it flying, not running or not walking?

Because the work has to be stripped around the globe.

It has to go through different nations and tongues and people.

And if you want to go around all these different places, you cannot just run to different places.

You have to fly because people have to see, people have to witness and hear clearly about this message.

There's only 1 place in the Bible mentioned about everlasting gospel.

2. Fear God and Give Glory

Why, you know, I did not understand about child abuse until I had my own 2 children.

My wife, On our way to Kuala Lumpur, we were riding a Vietnam airline.

And what happened was, just before we were landed, 2 flight attendants, they shake the can of this insecticide and spray on top of our head.

And you would have seen my wife's righteous indignation you know like, infecticide, it's bad for you, on the can she asked the flight attendants can I see the can and it says don't use an open food when there is a food and infant and elderly and imagine the whole airplane was full of smoke?

So my wife asked the flight attendants' names and flight numbers.

Because, she says, if it was just 2 of us, you know, we would have been just fine.

But my wife could not stand when something bad happened to my children, right?

I mean, imagine like 80 years old, beaten, punched, kicked, and broke 16 ribs out of 24.

That's the sinful human nature that we have.

If we have a given chance, there's a study in, I think, which university was it?

Study case, yeah, 14, 14, 1 group is the prison guard, and 1 group of people were the prisoners.

And they want to see how the guard will treat.

Even though this is the students, out of 1414, they have to stop the study because the guard was so rude to the prisoners.

Given chance, if you do not have a chance right now, that's why maybe all of us, we are trying to abide the law and do the right thing, but when there's a given chance that you can still $10 million, and the temptation is that, we're gonna talk about it a little later, but it's hard because we have it in here.

We're not going to persecute other people?

If you have a part in this, I mean, when you go to airport, especially, I don't wanna talk about this, but some countries, you go to their immigration and customs, they were so rude.

They think they're something, they're somebody.

If you look at their background, they don't have much.

But just because you're US immigration custom office, they just bully you until you sweat and, where are you from?

Why can't they say, hi, welcome to the United States?

We go to heaven, Jesus will open arms, welcome us.

We want to go there because He's waiting for us.

Jesus is coming soon, but because we are not preaching the gospel, it's delayed.

The longer that we enjoy this earth, the longer we stay in this idleness, laziness, Jesus is going to come.

Do you want to be like, old enough, oh I want Jesus to come.

1 time I talked to my professor, we were studying Bible, says, I want Jesus to come, at least, you know, I get married.

At least, you know, I have a wife that I know that, oh, this is how it feels to be married.

I wish I could have said, I wish Jesus would come soon, even today.

You know, The more and more I see it, we witness.

Of course, there is a wonderful place, wonderful people.

God still reserves many places and many things that we can still see God's beauty and His love.

But I'm talking about in a sense that we need to go to heaven, not having a comfortable life in this earth with strangers, pilgrims, passing through this place.

Revelation chapter 6, 6 verse 12-14, reading from verse 6, And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to prepare unto them, preach unto them, that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.

When you proclaim something or preach something, this word here is preach, right?

But the Greek word is proclaim, proclaim.

You know, Abraham Lincoln, I think it was 1873 or 18...

I don't remember the year, exact year, but he signed the Proclamation of emancipation.

There was a fight between South part of the United States and the North because of Slavery, right?

Many, many years this US merchant will go to Africa and buy this African people from human hunters.

They'll be separated from their families, separated from their mothers and fathers and children.

They're brought to the states and they work all day in the cotton field.

Today, this announcement or proclamation of freedom, What would they feel?

Until today, you've been working so hard.

They were beating you, they're punching you, they're making you to work and work and work.

They give you maybe a little time to rest and eat, but just they're using you as a machine, basically.

And I learned why it says some of the slaves, they will not even resurrect, because they didn't even have their right to control their life.

They were told to do something, they were told to live as animals.

Sometimes they have to do some bad things, because their lords, their masters, ask them to do.

So God says, they are not going to be resurrected.

Let's say you were a slave for 70 years, 60 years.

And you've been working for these rude masters.

But 1 day this president, the head of the country, make announcement, you're free to go.

The law, the federal law, protects your freedom.

3. The Hour of His Judgment

Father in Heaven, once again, we are here in this place to learn about a very special message that you want us to learn and experience and proclaim.

We ask that you will send your Holy Spirit to guide our minds and thoughts.

And we ask also that we will find Jesus Christ in this everlasting gospel.

This is our prayer in Jesus' precious name.

This is our great Jesus, precious name, amen.

Let's review before we deal with the hour of judgment and worship.

The everlasting in Greek word means age to age, or epic to epic.

And if you think about it, let's say we go to heaven.

When we go to heaven, we're going to share testimonies for how many years?

And we're going to share about the gospel, how Jesus died for our sins and we're redeemed.

So in that sense it's everlasting gospel.

Let me see if I can find the quotation from Ellen Dwyer.

It goes something like, the message, you know, what was the first everlasting gospel was preached?

I mean, the gospel was preached to human being, remember?

Where was the first place that God gave them the good news?

Basically, if I paraphrase it, it says the Gospel is still the same as the beginning of the Genesis.

How God came to Adam and Eve in Genesis chapter 3 verse 15, right?

And I will put enmity between thee, who is thee?

And between thy seed and her seed, it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Who is this indicating?

It, it, it says right, it shall bruise thy head.

Did Jesus bruise serpent's head or Satan's head on the cross?

You know, when we, you've probably seen a snake before, right?

How many of you catch snakes, caught snakes before?

We, we don't hit other, I mean, of course, sometimes we try to catch, you know, what's going too fast, and I'll hit it anywhere.

But to, in order for us to kill it, there's only 1 place you can hit and just end his life for good, his head.

When the snake bites the heel, it could still survive.

It's not hurting unless it's a major poisonous snake like King Cobra or some other snake.

But this indicates that Jesus will be sent and he'll cross the head of the Satan.

But meanwhile, him doing that, he has to go through the physical pain and suffering, not only just physical but also emotional and mental pressure.

So this is talking about the prophecy how God will involve saving human beings by laying his life and then finally crushing his head of Satan.

If you read Revelation chapter 12, it talks about when Jesus really crushed.

Of course, the Bible says it's a mystery of sin, right?

No, the sin itself, the Satan, how he became Master of this evil or sin is a mystery.

And so is how God saved us with his divine power and united us as 1.

Paul says man and woman become 1 flesh, that is a mystery.

How God united us as sinners, yet sinners but at 1 moment, at atonement, we become 1 with God.

How did Satan, as a perfect angelic host, He was a second in command, right?

But yet, he was jealous and envious and became head of the rebellious movement.

From the beginning, how Jesus represented as her seed will crush Satan and then redeem back the whole earth, human beings.

But everlasting gospel, because it's going to go all the way throughout the ages.

I don't know if you can relate it to that.

Maybe I meant to read a quotation for you so later you can really see the better picture.

And I pointed out that 1 of the things that we do not understand and experience is righteousness by faith.

I told you that sins that we have, sins that we commit, unless we repent, God cannot just say, oh you forgot about it?

We're gonna study about the judgment soon, but he's not just gonna like Oh, let's say brother Frank I think you have committed sins back in 2001 You know he doesn't do that.

He will show everybody it's a fair judgment.

When you go to court, let's say you were driving and you broke the speeding law.

You're supposed to drive 60 kilometers per hour, and you're driving, let's say, 100 kilometers per hour.

And then a police officer catch you and say, sir, you're driving 40 kilometers faster than the speed limit.

4. Babylon Is Fallen

Our loving, kind Heavenly Father, we thank You, Lord, for gathering us this morning once again to learn Your words.

There are many people in this country, They do not know of your love and your wonderful gift, Jesus Christ.

When you send your son Jesus Christ to this earth, he trained 12 disciples throughout 3 and a half years.

But they learn from you, and they turn the world upside down.

And in this room even, we have more than 12 people.

And I ask Lord that you will fill them with your Holy Spirit.

They will go out and proclaim the wonderful news about Jesus and His soon return And we can finish His work and join you in that heavenly place We thank you so much for your son Jesus Christ, his life, his ministry, and his death on the cross.

Through his life, we have wonderful faith and hope that we will also inherit the kingdom of God.

We pray all things in Jesus' precious name.

I am little less than 40 years old, a little less.

There's something that I wish I, even this morning, Dr.

70 years old man, learned violin for how many months?

That's something, but something about me and computer, we don't get along pretty well.

I only use computer for some time writing sermons, studying, preparing my sermon messages, and check my email and internet, that's it.

And I try my best to make some PowerPoints.

And all of them, I mean, like, except for 1 or 2, they're related to this message, but the rest is related to yesterday's message.

So I, you know, beg your pardon, but we'll spend time today studying 2nd and 3rd angels' message.

Yesterday I promised you that I would find the quotation from Alan Dwight's writing about the Gospel, right?

Here it is, spawned from the second Celestial Message, page 106.

You can read here, The message proclaimed by the angel flying in the midst of heaven is the everlasting gospel, the same gospel that was declared in where?

Eden, when God said to the serpent, I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed.

It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Here was the first promise of a Savior who would stand on the field of battle to contest the power of Satan and prevail against him.

Christ came to our world to represent the character of God as it is presented in his holy law.

For his law is transcript of his character.

The angel that proclaims the everlasting gospel proclaims the law of God, for the gospel of salvation brings men to obedience of the law, whereby their characters are formed after the divine similitude.

If you can write it down or make a note of this, that would be great.

Another word for Babylon, the meaning is the gates of the gods.

Before we go there, because we didn't even read the scripture, what is the first angel's message about?

What Did you learn from yesterday when I presented about first angels message?

Fear God, give glory to him, for the hour of judgment is come.

What is kind of like main theme that is pointing to.

The thing that he told us, Abraham, I gave you example, right?

When Abraham was asked to sacrifice his own son, It doesn't make sense.

And God says, I know now that you fear the Lord.

Abraham, another case, demonstrated the strong faith When God says, leave your family and your hometown.
