Last Man Standing

Before we talk about that man, thank you.

If you will kindly, and I hope I can make this polite request, turn these little blessings and curses off.

And not just offering, off vibration as well.

As I said last night, if it's on vibration, it will disturb you.

The Holy Spirit is very sensitive and He leaves very quickly.

The Holy Spirit is extremely sensitive and it does not take much for him to realize, look I am in the wrong place, let me go somewhere else.

And I can't afford to have him leave and leave me here by myself.

So please remember we're in the presence of God.

Let nothing ring, make sure your mind is off.

And I may say this occasionally just for the sake of the voice.

By the way, Matthew was a thief, you know that.

And the publicans were specialists in robbing people.

Matthew was 1, but he became a servant of Jesus Christ.

This is a testimony to what Jesus Christ can do with any life if it is given to him 100%.

I like going to the gym And sometimes I read on muscle physiology and I read in a book that a muscle cell contracts on an all or nothing basis.

Matthew 10 reading from verse 1, And when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Now the names of the 12 apostles are these, the first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother James the son of Zebedee and John his brother Philip and Bartholomew Thomas and Matthew the publican James the son of Alpheus and Libyas whose surname was Thaddeus Simon the Canaanite and Judas Iscariot who also betrayed him.

He called unto him his 12 and he gave them what?

Power against unclean spirits to do what?

Cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

And then verses 2, 3, and 4, we have the names of the 12 apostles as they're called in verse 2, disciples as they're called in verse 1.

Now, verse 5, these 12, Jesus sent forth and commanded them saying, go not in the way of the Gentiles and into any city of the Samaritans enter you not but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and as you go preach saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils.

Now I want you to look at verse 8 again in verse 1 we learned he gave the power against unclean spirits in verse 8 we have more information about what Jesus Christ gave to his disciples.

When a man has power or a woman to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils, Would you not conclude that that man or woman is bound for the land of the pure and holy?

Would it not be reasonable to assume that person will go to heaven when Jesus comes.

How many of you have ever raised the dead?

But this is what Jesus empowered these men to do and I am saying that if a person receives power from Jesus Christ to do these miraculous works, then any person is justified in assuming that that person will go through the pearly gates.

Let's go to another group of disciples that Jesus gave power to.

Luke chapter 10, same chapter, different book.

Luke 10 we shall also read from verse 1 as we continue the last man standing.

The Bible says after these things the Lord appointed other 70 also and sent them to and to before his face into every city and place where he himself would come.

In Matthew 10, 1 we have 12 disciples, we know who they are.

In Luke 10, verse 1 we have 70 and they are unnamed.

Now when these 70 went out and did their miracles, they came back.

The Bible says in the 17 return again with joy, rejoicing.

And they said to Jesus, Lord even the devils are subject unto us how?

I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

When God gives you the ability to do something, don't rejoice in that.

Lucifer rejoiced in his position and his power and Jesus said, I saw him fall like lightning.

Then in verse 19 Jesus says, Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and Scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.

Jesus gave this group of 70 and presumably the group of 12 power over all the power of the enemy.

And he continues in verse 19 and nothing shall by any means hurt you notwithstanding in this rejoice not because the spirits are subject unto you but rejoice because what your names are written where?

Now these 70, their names were in heaven.

We may assume that the names of the 12 were also at some point written in heaven.

How many of them had power to raise the dead?

How many had power to cleanse the lepers?

How many of you come to church on Sabbath?

How many of you try perspiringly to get here on time for church?
