Mind Control

What I want to share this morning is a result of my personal study, blessings that I've gained with some concepts that have to do with what we say and what we think.

And I found it to be an amazingly vital component to our Christianity.

Sometimes we can think of our Christianity as something that is one-sided and then separate from our thoughts and our emotions, the way we feel about each other, the way we talk about each other.

So what I want to share this morning is designed to help us be even more effective in our relationships with 1 another.

It's designed to create an environment that will empower spiritual growth and spiritual unity.

It is a topic that If we allow God to correct our thinking on, we will have a part in hastening the coming of the Lord.

You know, 1 of the things that has particularly disturbed me is what goes on in the mind of a Seventh-day Adventist who leaves the Church.

Something that has caught my attention and my alarm is what goes on in the mind of a Seventh-day Adventist who turns away from the truth they once believed, accepted, defended, preached, and proclaimed.

And then to have such a dramatic, drastic, opposite turnaround of mind and of thought to say, I no longer believe that?

Wouldn't you think that if we discovered the reason for that, we would be on to something vitally important regarding what the devil is doing to God's remnant church?

I don't know if you feel the urgency of discovering that.

You know, Adam White says that to deal with the mind is the greatest thing that we have to do.

Because when we're dealing with people, we're not dealing with what we can see.

We're dealing with something we cannot see, which is their mind, and what has happened to that mind, and the things that it believes and it doesn't believe about itself, about others, about life, their colour, who they are.

And so we cannot separate the gospel from what we think.

And in fact, after today's sermon I believe that you will be even more convinced that the gospel happens in the mind.

And it's not just some kind of far-off forgiveness of sin, and now you carry on as you can, and do your best.

Salvation and forgiveness happen in our mind.

If it doesn't work to get up on there, don't worry.

Sorry, folks, you won't get it up on the screen.

So let us now begin with prayer and ask the Lord to guide us and bless us.

Father in heaven, We thank you for the privilege that you have given us to know the truth.

And help us, Lord, to understand the importance and the power of that knowledge and Lord, help us to realize to know the truth is not just to know a theory or to know some rules.

To know the truth means to know Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life.

Father help us to realize that our religion is not a list of beliefs or doctrines or things that we agree to.

That we say, mm-hmm, okay, yeah, I can see that.

Father, help us to realize that salvation is a complete change of mind.

Father, help us to realize the battle for the mind.

Help us to realize that there is a battle to control the mind.

Father, help us to allow our minds to be under the control of your Holy Spirit.

Okay, Last Sabbath, so today's title is Mind Control.

Or is somebody else in control of your mind?

Don't miss this, because this makes up who you are and who I am and the message today is designed for us to become more what God wants us to be and for him to have full control of my mind, your mind, your mind and my mind.

Because the Bible says, let us be of 1 accord, amen?

This mind that was in Christ Jesus be also in you.

And for that we must have his attitude, if we are to have his mind.

Because his attitude was 1 of complete submission, surrender and humility to the will of his father in heaven is our mind under that kind of control is my mind under that Kind of control because you know we can see how control how well control that line is or not by the words that we speak And we looked at that last Sabbath.

We looked at that and we saw that there is according to the word of God and God knows everything and he teaches us everything that there is to know in the word of God and he said that death and life are in the power of the tongue.

So with our words we can kill and destroy or we can raise up and give life.

And you know the text, we looked at some, we looked at some text that says a married heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Did you know that it is in the bones that the immune system draws from the marrow, the strength for the white blood cells to fight disease.

It is clear and true even in its statements with regard to physiology and biology.

And we read a text that said, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

And this statement, this phrase has so much power and truth in it that if we applied it, as God wants us to, we would be completely different persons with regard to our faith in Him.

That's why the Bible and Proverbs, you should try it, You should try it.

Nendi's prescriptions to help those that are suffering from negative feelings or depression to get out of that.

And it is amazing how much wisdom there is and how much brain stimulation we can get from the Holy Spirit when we just read a chapter of Proverbs throughout each day.

And then we looked at some spirit of prophecy statements.

And It's amazing how the Bible and the spirit of prophecy are in such amazing agreement and amazing harmony and So we read in mind cure and personality in Ministry of Healing page 241 that our thoughts have an effect on our health.

People that are discontented do a lot of what?

Because we are talking about who controls our mind.

And we are told that we are to have our mind and every thought into captivity of the obedience of Christ.

That our mind, every thought should be brought into the captivity of the obedience of Christ.

Jesus died on the cross, took our flesh, and crucified it on the cross to make it possible.

As she said, grief, anxiety, discontent, remorse, guilt, distrust, all tend to break down the life forces and to invite decay and death.

Does it do more harm to them or the ones that they're not forgiving?

Friends, these are mind principles that we're looking at.

And Ellen White says, as the Bible does, that the mind needs to be controlled.

We cannot just allow our thoughts to race in a certain direction and to run wild, because the devil will have a means of access if we allow our thoughts to just run wild.

Deciding what to think about yourself and others and the world that we're in.

On the other hand, Ellen White says, same page, 241 Ministry of Healing, Courage, hope, faith, sympathy, love, All do what?

And a contented mind and a cheerful spirit is health to the body and strength to the soul.

And then last Sabbath I got through 5 points.
