The Image that Revives

If you can turn your Bibles in the book of Genesis, Genesis chapter 1, Genesis chapter 1 and looking at verse 26.

If you're there can you let me know by saying amen and God said let us make man in our image after our likeness.

Because I don't want you to miss the power of these words.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, let us make man in our image according to our likeness.

The theme of this sermon this morning is this word Al Ove.

That's the theme and I'm not talking about the love that the world is talking about today I'm talking about the love that comes from the infinite God that's the theme but our title of our little talk this morning is the image that revives.

Say it 1 more time, the image that revives.

The Bible tells us that we were created in an image of God.

That we were created in a likeness of God.

So here is so clearly set for the origin of the human race and the divine record so plainly stated that there is no occasion for erroneous conclusion the Bible clearly says in verse 27 so God created man in his own image in the image of God created he him male and female created so what I'm saying is so clearly here is no mystery there is no ground for the idea that man was evolved by slow degrees of development of a lower forms of animals.

I'm so glad that God didn't create me in the image of a monkey, otherwise I would inherit their likeness.

If I was created in the image of a monkey and somehow you and I are having a normal conversation and somehow my monkey genes kicked in, our conversation won't be fun at all.

You see, I'm so glad that God created us in his image, not the image of an animal, but the image of God.

But to God be the praise is because the Bible says the true word of God that we will create it in the image of God.

We will create it in the likeness of God.

You see, we were created with a cycle of blessings.

We were created with a cycle of blessings.

He will find anybody, any word, any discouragement to break the cycle of blessing that God has for us.

It says, and God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb healing seed, and the fruit tree healing fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth and it was so.

And the earth bore forth grass and the herb healing seed after its kind and the tree healing fruit whose seed was in itself after his kind.

When God created the grass, he done it how many times?

When God created the grass, he did it how many times?

He didn't come down on day number 3 and said let it be grass And then come down on day number 4 and said let it be grass and then come down to day number 5 No, no, no God done it once and once God created it it starts what we call it a cycle.

And when that cycle grows Watch me when a cycle grows it goes on for years and years and years.

What's the mango season here in Brisbane?

Now, you go to the marketplace, all beautiful.

So picture the first mango that God created, it was perfect.

So that when it come to the second cycle, it remains the same.

The same look, the same smile, the same taste.

It goes on for years and years and years.

Every cycle is based on the premises of the seed.

It's impossible to plant tomato seed and expect mangoes as fruit.

It's impossible, see, a full-blood Samoan like me cannot produce Japanese babies.

Because I can only produce what's already in me.

So what I'm saying is that God, everything in life reproduces after its own kind.

Corruption reproduces after its own kind.

Everything in life reproduces after its own kind.

And what I'm saying is, because today our theme is love.

See, you cannot reproduce a cycle of love if the seed of hate, you cannot reproduce a cycle of love if the seed is gossiping.

You cannot reproduce a cycle of love if the seed of hate, you cannot reproduce a cycle of love if the seed is gossiping, you cannot reproduce a cycle of love if the seed is corruption, it's impossible.

What I'm saying is that God created us to reproduce something I Wonder what it is.

I'm glad you asked the Bible first that we read this morning It says that we were created in the image of God according to his likeness.

So God created us to reproduce his likeness and his image.

If you have your Bibles, go with me to 1 John chapter 4 verse 8.

It says that he that loveth not knoweth not who for God is Love so what I'm saying is God and love Equal love cannot go up and God down there.

No, no, no God and love are equal So what I'm saying is if Genesis tells us that we were created in the image of God according to his likeness, and the New Testament tells us that God is love, so therefore, we were created in the image of love.

God tell us this morning, is that we need to reproduce a cycle of his love.

That's what you're breathing this morning.

Everybody can see they got 2 ears, 2 eyes still working.

I'm walking, I can hear, I can feel, I can taste.

Even though we don't deserve it, but I'm still breathing.

We were created to reproduce a cycle of his love.

Have you ever come across people, I don't know if you have them here.

Every time you're trying to move forward in life, but there are people in your life trying to pull you down.
