We Have This Hope, but Do Our Youth?

I don't know if you were here just before lunch, but we had an amazing presentation by Dr.

I was tremendously blessed by his ministry and just his ability to bring together so much interesting information and the prophetic in that information is powerful.

Now, you all may not know it because he looks a lot younger than me, but we were in school together.

We were at Oakwood college, now university together, and even back then, back in the Stone Age, the hand of God was already on him, and he was tremendously blessed, and we will be blessed by more presentations by him and by others who will speak during this time.

I want to talk to you, though, about something important.

The song says that Christ alone has imparted to us faith in the promise of God's word.

We have this hope, but do our young people have it?

Do they know that there is a God not just coming for them but that there's a Jesus now that wants them, that wants to be with them and walk with them, talk with them, bless them, be their companion and their friend.

White Estate, and I wanna bring you greetings from the White Estate.

It has been just a joy and a privilege to work with Ellen White's writings.

I gotta tell you, it's something to get into the original manuscripts and look at her handwriting and all of those things.

Ellen White is an amazing servant of God.

Ellen White would be amazing even if she wasn't Seventh-day Adventist.

And I know we think of her, We claim her, but I'm telling you, there are people all around this globe that are discovering her, and they are taking hold of her with much more, let me see if I can get the word right, ferocity than good old Seventh-day Adventists are.

There are people who are embracing Ellen White's ministry today in far-flung places of the world.

But there is right now visitors who Visit our content at the White Estate.

You can find some of Ellen White's writings in over 90 plus languages there.

We also have ellenwhite.org, the home site where you can find all kinds of answers to questions.

You can get pictures of our pioneers, lots and lots of good stuff there, shelf documents that we've created.

But I will tell you this, the EGW Writings app, does anybody have the app?

I need to report back to Homebase that the app is working.

And I want to tell you, every month, every month, every month at the White Estate, we have over 10 million unique visitors to our Ellen White content.

There's nothing even close within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

It started during COVID, and it has totally exploded and has not stopped.

The consumption of LNY content online is absolutely...

It's coming to us from places where there are no seven-day Adventists.

It's coming from places where there are no, no Adventists led them to Ellen white.

Now, I'm just saying to you that we have a privilege, we have a treasure, we have a blessing in our midst, and we are crazy if we let somebody else take our treasure.

We don't read it, but people who barely even know the Lord read it.

People in Iran and people in China and people in far-flung places of the world reading and studying her writings.

We have not just 10 million unique visitors, we have over...

Now, you know, you could listen to Ellen White, isn't that right?

We have Ellen White audio, you could read it, different things.

140 million, I'm gonna say that again, 140 million digital interactions every month with her content.

He's doing something, and I think we ought to claim our affiliation with this gift.

The gift of prophecy, the spirit of prophecy is ours.

God has given it to us that we might be fitted for the work of God.

I'm gonna talk about that in this presentation.

And that we might be able to do what God needs us to do.

He needs some people to be the people of God at the end of time.

We need you to come as you are and be who God has created you to be.

God calls us to be people of the book, people of the Word of God.

The Spirit of Prophecy leads us to the Word of God and helps us to embrace our destiny.

Well, today, we're gonna talk about, we have this hope, do they?

Several principles for sharing Ellen White with younger generations.

So how do we, it's 1 thing to have the treasure, how do we pass the treasure on to our young people so that they embrace it and they decide that treasure is mine, there's something in it for me.

And let me tell you, whoever reads Spirit of Prophecy, if anyone who reads, especially in tandem with Scripture, Scripture is first, If you read spirit of prophecy in tandem with scripture, the studies that have been done say every measurement of your spiritual devotion to God goes up.

Commitment to the service of God through a myriad of different means.

All experiences in the spiritual life elevate whenever Scripture is read in tandem with spirit of prophecy.

And that is because I believe it is divine.

Well, we have some interesting generations.

This 1 they used to call, I don't know if they still call them that, they called them the millennial generation.

That was a big deal a few years ago, you know, but I have this theory that young people really don't change.

That there are certain things about our youth that really don't change.

There are certain, they might express things differently, some of their actions are different, Some of the tech they deal with are different.

But really at the core, youth all have to go through similar experiences.

These generations, and not just this generation, I think it probably began with them, but the generation X, generation Y, not X so much, millennial generation, generation Y, generation Z, these generations are creative, they are ambitious, fairly confident, open-minded, and innovative.

These generations live out of their palms.
