What Happened After Peter Received the Holy Spirit?

And I want to ask you tonight, are you happy that it's the Sabbath?

Would you prefer most of all to have a very quiet, peaceful, and lengthy lecture?

Or would you like to have active learning with the written word of God?

So please, come and join me on the stage.

Now some of you are saying, oh no, what did we just say?

Some of you are getting very worried, but it's okay.

Now, by the way, as you're coming, I want to ask you a question.

How many of you have ever had the joy and the privilege of serving Jesus in a place where Christians are persecuted?

Do I assume that most of us here have only served Jesus in places where there's lots of freedom?

Well, there's something fun I need to tell you.

When I go to places where people are persecuted for their faith, they don't like to sit spread out.

And we're told, have you remember, do you remember an author telling us that in the end of time we're supposed to press together?

Ellen White, moved by the Spirit of God, told us that we're supposed to press together, press together, press together.

So tonight, it's not time for just a common message.

And I don't need you to be impressed with my message, but I need you to be impressed with Jesus tonight.

I need you to be impressed by the written Word of God.

And so to set the tone right now, I invite us to do this first of all.

So look around you, make some new friends, make some old friends, but please go into teams of 8 as soon as you can.

Your first question tonight, if you're willing to answer this, we're going to start out very, very gentle and then we're going to go deeper, okay?

The first question is to go in 1 minute, go all the way around the circle and say, as soon as you get to step into heaven, you know, when Jesus takes us home to our eternal place, who is the person you most want to meet after Jesus and why?

You have 1 minute to go all the way around the circle.

If your team made it in 1 minute, please raise your hands if you made it.

Now, as quick as you can, please go into teams of fours.

And if you have little children here with you, keep them with you.

But other than that, you need to have different groups.

So you can't use people from your own group unless if they are children.

In teams of fours, you still have only 1 minute for this.

You'll have 1 minute to go all the way around the circle and please answer this question.

What is 1 way that God has provided for you since the beginning of this year that you know it's only because there's a God in heaven?

Now, ladies and gentlemen, please look around this group right here.

Look around this group and select 1 person, 1 person that you're going to team up with next.

So any 1 person, You may know them, you may not know them, but pick 1 person.

We're going from surface to deeper to deeper.

Now, this is so precious and I wish we'd talk about it more in this last day church because we need to be for the time we're in.

This last 1 is, So this week, what is 1 thing that Jesus Christ has done in your life that's given you a new reason to trust him?

What's 1 thing that Jesus Christ has done in your life this past week, since last Sunday, this past Sunday?

Just 1 thing, just 1 thing that gives you a new reason to trust in Jesus.

Okay, and this time I'll give you lots of grace.

How many of you heard, did you hear a good evidence for why you should trust Jesus all over again?

The world is falling apart tonight, but Jesus isn't.

Now, What should we do now in this meeting so that this is something that would go over and above anything that you and I could pull off?

What kind of prayer and who should we be praying for?

We should be praying for the Holy Spirit, should we not?

He is that Holy 1 that wants to come and stir our hearts and is there anybody tired tonight?

Is there anybody going through a dark time?

He wants to bring light into your heart on this Friday night.

And so are you willing to come here together and just for a few minutes we'll have United Prayer praying and pleading with our Heavenly Father for a gift that He longs to give?

So I don't mean pleading because he doesn't want to give, but I mean all out asking.

When we ask, remember that we should ask like in 1 sentence prayers.
