Be Ye Transformed

We pray Lord that the rest of this Sabbath day may be a blessing to us and that through it we may come into a closer relationship with you.

And I pray that you would bless every person here that is hearing this message.

And I pray that you would give me utterance to speak upon these words Lord.

So the name of this message is Be Ye Transformed.

And we are going to open up with Revelation 14, 8.

And we know this as the second angel's message.

It says, And there followed another angel saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Now this is the second angel's message that we are to proclaim to the world.

Now, what does this message mean to us as Seventh-day Adventists?

We know that we have to proclaim it, but what does it mean?

You see, before we give a message, we have to live the message.

It's the same as Jesus coming to this earth.

To save us and to sympathize with us and to judge us, He had to live and go through all the temptations that we had to go through.

In that way, nobody could give an excuse in judgment saying, well, you don't understand how it was.

And that's why Jesus the Son will be the judge.

In the same way, how can we think to give a message if we don't live it?

We can't call people out of Babylon if we don't know what that is.

So it's about not doing as the world does and by living a renewed and a transformed life.

And we are going to flesh that out a little bit more and see what that really means.

It reads, I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies as a living sacrifice, wholly acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Now first off, present our bodies as a living sacrifice.

You know, this is something that before I was a Seventh-day Adventist, I never even thought about.

Because 1 thing many people forget is our bodies are linked to our minds.

So if you feed your body garbage, you know, a lot of junk food, sugary food and stuff like that, you're not going to be able to think clearly.

It's actually interesting to know that we're given this counsel that we're supposed to have, eat healthy, we're supposed to take walks and exercise and so on and so forth.

And even Satanists and Freemasons and Spiritualists, they eat healthy.

I actually was at this 1 meeting 1 time where there was a bunch of spiritualists and such.

I didn't know they were spiritualists at first.

But regardless, they were all spiritualists and they were all vegans or vegetarians.

And do you know why they were vegan vegetarians?

It's interesting actually, because a lot of times, people don't want to follow what the Bible has to say.

And they don't want to follow what the spirit of prophecy has to say.

But Satan knows that when Ellen White spoke these things, it was from God.

And he knows that the things in the Bible are from God.

So he advises his spiritualists and so on and so forth to eat healthy because that he knows, because God says it will, that it clears their mind and it keeps it open.

So in the same way, we're supposed to eat healthily because when we eat junk food, it clouds our mind and we can't discern as well the Holy Spirit.

You've heard the saying, practice what you preach.

I know that 1 of my biggest pet peeves before I was an Adventist used to be, well, you got all these Christians going to church, and this is what a lot of people think, you got all these Christians going to church, but they're not doing what they're preaching.

Now, it is true that we are not to look at other people and say, Oh, well, they're not doing and count it off.

We're supposed to keep our eyes on Jesus, not on other people.

Because I have found that if you keep your eyes on any person, it doesn't matter how righteous or holy they may look.

You will be disappointed because we have faults.

So it's very important that we heed the counsel that we've been given about health.

And this health message also is something many churches don't have and it's an excellent way to reach many different people.

My own family, they're starting to eat healthier because I've been showing them these things.

And Ellen White even says in her counsel that if we can overcome hunger, we can overcome any sin.

Because you think about it, what's the hardest thing not to do?

You could say it's not watching TV, you could say it's not listening to music, but truly, it's probably eating.

Have you ever just not ate for a long time?

It's because it's 1 of your biggest necessities, which is a parallel for us because in our spiritual walk, What's the biggest necessity?

The Word of God and having a relationship with Him.

So, when it says, present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And it's interesting because if you are living healthily, it's not just showing spiritually, it's showing physically.

You actually care for yourself And when you're sharing this message, you actually care for other people.

We were bought with a price, which means we are not our own.

So if our body is the temple of God, Should we not treat it in a right way?

We would not be spray painting this church.

What if somebody spray painted a cross on the church?

And then they might reason, oh, well, it's a cross, but they're still desecrating it.

Or if they filled it with a garbage even, nobody would like that.

And even Adventists, even we are guilty of this, even though we have the health message, We see that.

So we are to be not conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our mind.

Let's find out what it means to be of a renewed mind.

And this is going to be Romans 8, 1 to 14.

And it says, There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

For what the law could not do, and that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned flesh sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

Now in Romans 8 here, I really like Romans because it's the gospel really.

And it explains a lot of things that are very beneficial to our Christian walk.
