Unmoved Part 1

Fresh manna fell to the ground as a gift from God while the Israelites were in the wilderness.

It was fresh from the ovens of heaven, Baked by the master baker himself.

How the Israelites must have anticipated the taste and the smell of each morning's delivery.

Just like the Israelites, you too can now experience the taste and the smell of fresh manna.

Today, you'll be listening to Moise Retzera, pastor of the Kalamazoo Filipino Company and Kalamazoo Seventh-Day Adventist Churches.

It is so good to be here and I see we have some new faces that have joined us as well.

He's alive, he's not in a grave, and he's able to do much more than we can imagine.

God is alive, and he's able to do much more than we can imagine.

Dear Heavenly Father, here we have gathered today from many parts of the United States.

But we've gathered here, Father, not to listen to what a man thinks about the world, but to see what Jesus says, and what He's calling us to.

I pray, Father, that we would be filled with the Holy Spirit, and that we will come out of this place not the same again.

Because we have had an encounter with Jesus of the Word.

So Father, may we be humble, and may we have an open heart, as we Listen.

The title of today's exhortation is Unmoved.

I'll invite you to go to Matthew chapter 24.

We're going to use our Bibles Those of you who are used to being here, you know, they use a lot of the Bible So I will encourage you to mark down if you don't have a Bible.

Matthew 24 verse 9 to verse 14, the title is unmoved.

"...they will deliver you to tribulations and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake and Then many will be offended will betray 1 another and will hate 1 another then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

But he who endures to the end shall be saved, and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations and then the end will come.

The question we would like to answer today is how to live in a world that has grown cold.

How to live in a world that has grown cold.

Today if there was 1 word that would summarize, so to speak, the experience of society and the faith, is that we have become more polarized than any time that we could remember in history.

I remember reading the story of a marriage, a lady who was 73 year old, a retired Californian prison guard, who decided to divorce her husband of 22 years because he voted for a certain candidate.

There are so many statistics of family members who will not want to talk to 1 another again because of what happened in the last couple years.

Today, we have members who are willing to leave the church because the church does not take certain stance that they feel convicted about.

Now, I'm not even talking about Bible stance.

Some people are willing to transfer to another church because the pastor preaches a certain message or this pastor preaches a certain message that line up with what they think should be done.

Now, I'm not saying that you should be part of a church where lies are being preached.

But there's a difference between the Word of God and what we think as people.

There's a difference between what people tell us to think about and it does say of the Lord.

You and I are part of God's church because we believe in the Bible.

We are not part of God's church because we are popular or we're preaching a popular message.

We're part of God's church because we believe in the Word of God.

There's going to be a lot of noise in the world today.

Some people have come to me and says, pastor, should I be vaccinated?

Or pastor, what should I do about this and the property I should buy because we're living at the end of time you know what my counsel is read the spirit of prophecy and the Bible and make your decision We are living in an age where everybody thinks they're a professional.

And I'm being honest, as ministers, sometimes we think we know a lot, and we're telling you things to do.

Make sure your faith is based on the Word of God.

If you're asking me a personal question or if you're relying upon somebody else to tell you something that is an opinion, be very careful.

Make sure that whatever you do is based again on what?

Now, I'm not a medical professional, and the advice I will give you might not be the best.

I would rather trust Joe with advice, or Rube, or somebody.

Or when it comes to property or different things, I would trust somebody who knows those things.

But my friends, I'm being very clear with you.

There are people who are going to say this is the truth, but it's not the truth.

White tells us, at the end of time, people are going to become like the people of Athens they're 1 are going to talk about the latest thing and what is the latest development but Paul tells us in first Corinthians chapter 2 and verse 2 what did he say I am determined to know nothing among you except what?

Now I'm not telling you my friends that those topics are not important.

And some of those things that we're going to face are going to come and they might even challenge our conscience.

And when those decisions come into play, You need to go to God to give you the wisdom based on the Word of God.

We're living in a place and a time where there is also coercion.

We're also living in a time where society is telling you how you ought to live your life.

We're also living in a time where there is a lot of pressures to follow 1 way or to follow another way.

But my brothers and sisters, Keep your eyes on Jesus.

We have a mission as Seventh-day Adventists, and maybe you're not an Adventist and you're here today, But Jesus has a mission for you and that mission is to go talk to a dying world that there is a Savior.

We can let nothing distract us from that mission.

It is that Jesus is coming again, and he's going to meet us, and we're going to have to give him an answer.

Jesus is not going to ask us what we think about certain things, He's going to ask us were you faithful?

It's my personal prayer and my prayer for you as well that we will say yes Lord I did everything I could to reflect you.

This unity and polarization is going to become sharper and sharper.

As individuals, you're going to experience it yourselves too, and some of you are experiencing maybe in your workplaces, or in your families, or wherever you might be, and there might be difference of ideas.

This series is to give us a biblical framework how to operate in a world that has grown cold.

As a matter of fact, this is not new to the Christian faith to have a church that is polarized.

I'm going to highlight here about 10 problems that they had, and their problems were very serious.

10 problems, just in the book of Corinthians.
