The French Revolution was all based on sexual freedom and equality in outcomes.

You could have sex with whoever you want.

Taking a cocaine buzz does not help society, and so it produces an extremely self-centered society.

So you need to understand our Adventist-owned colleges and universities, We're told when we're involved in medical missionary work, the spiritual health of the patient needs to be primary.

If we teach them what we should do and we don't introduce them to the gospel, we're actually teaching a high form of legalism.

Some of the commenters have said, you know, debate is a good evangelistic means of reaching out to people.

Nedley, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to have this conversation.

Last Sabbath of the year, you gave a provocative sermon, compelling.

And what we wanted to do was sit down and have a long-form conversation about what you talked about and also answer some of the Objections that have been raised about it.

You did a compelling comparison between the French Revolution and what was happening between 2020 and 2024.

Yeah, well it had been building for a while, even prior to 2020, but the French Revolution was all based on sexual freedom and equality and outcomes.

And the equality and outcomes of course, we know as socialism.

And when it's combined with, when socialism is combined with atheism, that's communism, essentially.

And the French Revolution was the forerunner of the communist movement.

And so communism in Russia never would have occurred without the French Revolution.

And interestingly, the sexual terms that are actually French words, masturbation, orgasm, all of that, those are Russian words now.

You go around the world and the sexual freedom terms that are actually originally in French are now embedded in so many different languages.

And so they declared that there was no God.

They made that official stance and they brought in a goddess and they were very much, you know, Divorce was no big deal.

However, as long as it's consensual, it's great.

And somehow enhancing to themselves and society, which actually is not true, very false.

Although a lot of people think it's true just because on the surface you get a dopamine high.

But, you know, taking a cocaine buzz does not help society even though it gives you a cocaine buzz, and it actually causes some brain issues to make you even more self-centered.

And so it produces an extremely self-centered society that becomes pretty ruthless.

And so this is what was building up through the political realm.

And of course, those that believe in the French Revolution principles have always been experts at using politics to advance their cause.

It's why they're able to take over entire countries like China and Russia and so many others.

They're politically involved even though the majority of their society would not actually necessarily agree with those tenets, particularly if they had them explained to them as to what this was actually about.

And so, we saw that progressive buildup and, And so this pendulum started to shift.

And so in the process of all this progressivism, when we're against the Seventh Commandment, when we are against the equal application of the laws, because socialism is always opposed to having the law be the equalizing force.

You know all of us believe in equality but it depends on what is the equality about.

America was founded on the equal aspect being the laws of the land.

So we're all accountable to the laws of the land, no matter our stance and no matter our position.

And so the law is no respecter of persons, per se.

But when the law is only applied to certain groups and not other groups in order to obtain equality of outcome, you can imagine how that eventually is going to catch up with the system.

We treated policemen here for mental health issues after 4 or 5 murders of going after someone before the DA would actually accuse them of murder because the first murder they got off of and it all had to do with DEI things as to whether they were going to enforce the law or not.

And so, yes, it seemed like progressive ideology was continuing to swing left and left, and it was going to continue to go left until everything collapsed like France did.

But we are told in scripture that actually people who believe in God are going to be on the wrong side and there's going to be a vast amount of people who believe in God and actually believe in the seventh commandment that are going to pick and choose which commandments they believe in but they're not going to denigrate all of them And so progressive ideology basically denigrates all of them You know in serial number is not necessarily all at the same time We're more conservative ideology, which is where Protestant You know a lot of the Protestant Republican individuals are Biblical conservative and they believe in the Seventh Commandment and they believe in the Sixth Commandment, you know, particularly when it comes to abortion and of course they believe in it across the board etc.

And so it looked like Protestant biblical Protestantism was kind of dead because of this huge shift and Christians were being marginalized and they were being attacked and they were being publicly attacked as if they were bigots.

Because they believed in the Seventh Commandment and when it got down to it that was in a progressive mind that's that's extreme bigotry when you believe that breaking the Seventh Commandment could somehow be harmful to you or harmful to others.

And so This is what I was talking about in regards to that shift.

So in 2024, the election demonstrated that.

We had more young people voting conservative.

The first time that it swung the other way, the young people, every election, were voting more and more progressive.

You had more ethnic groups, Latinos and the African Americans, they were voting more conservative.

And you actually had the more conservative candidate win by popular vote, not just the electoral college vote.

And then you started seeing enactments and executive orders that were upholding more of the conservative Protestant biblical principles.

And we have DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

How does Weimar navigate that with accreditation?

Yeah, I saw some of the comments on that.

And so there's a general belief among many conservative Adventists that as soon as we go the route of accreditation That we are going to automatically cave and no longer be biblical and spirit of prophecy based So we looked at that very carefully.

I used to believe that accreditation was where our institution started to go against their biblical roots and 1 of the reasons is because of our university presidents and what they would say to their union president.

So you need to understand our Adventist own colleges and universities, the chair of those colleges is the union president, so his stance needs to be biblical, spirit of prophecy, Those are part of the fundamental beliefs of Seventh-day Adventists.

And so when things would start happening at the university that was not aligned with that, the university union, or should say the union president might talk to the president and say what's going on.

And the easy answer was, well, we have to do this in order to be accredited.

There was a, I won't say what college it was, but it was 1 of our Adventist colleges where a couple of faculty members had gotten fired because they wouldn't bring in syncopated rock and roll music in the music department.

And so that's why they said they got fired.

And I know that sometimes there's more to the story, and that might have been partially, or it might have been a misperception on their part.

And so I thought I would talk to the president of the university myself.

And so I called up the university president, and that university president said, yes, we had to fire him because of accreditation.

Well, now I guess I'm gonna start narrowing it down for the listener because their university was accredited by the same organization that accredits Weimar University now.

So I was very aware of the accreditation standards and we had to look at that.

If there was anything in those accreditation standards that would make us violate biblical or spirit of prophecy principles, we didn't want to have anything to do with it.

But if true education can be done under the highest forms of accreditation, such as Stanford and other thought to be high-end schools are, it helps people to realize that they're using educational standards that WMAR is fitting in regards to all those criteria.

And of course, it helps them in regards to graduate degrees if they were to go elsewhere and not have the question in regards to academic inferiority, which is may not be true.

Just because you're not accredited doesn't mean that you're academically inferior at all.

But that is the standard that all the higher-end educators look for to have some, they know that peer reviewers have gone in and done a deep dive into the institution and approved things educationally and academically.

And so as we were pursuing that, I realized there is nothing in the accreditation that would make them fire those those 2 Music professors and so I even said to the university president.

Well, I'm familiar with the accreditation standards, and I don't see anything that would cause you to fire them based on accreditation.

And she says, well, it's not the regional accreditation of the university.

It is the music accreditation of the actual music department.

We have a different society that comes in and accredits the music department.

So I did a dive into that and I found out that society was not enforcing rock and roll.
